Inspired by Mad Max: Fury Road, I wanted to build a war rig for Inq28 games. The Necromunda Cargo-8 Ridgehauler seemed ideal for my purposes.

I started by building the fuel pod:

Then I built the cab section. I replaced the existing cowcatcher with a dozer blade from a Basilisk kit. I decided to save the crew (and cab roof) for later, as it would be much easier to paint them first and then glue them in place.

Here are all three sections completely built in their basic forms. Still some details left to add:

The complete Cargo-8:

The cab section, with plenty of skulls added:

The cargo section, relatively sparsely decorated:

And the fuel pod, again pretty simple, though there's a loose hose on the opposite side:

Next step: Priming!

Primed most of the parts with Chaos Black:

Except the containers, which are primed with Wraithbone:

After some delay, I've drybrushed the parts I expect to stay black with Celstra Grey.

I adorned the vehicle with many, many skulls. Now I must paint them. Plenty of Wraithbone was used.

Kitbashing looks delightful. Those models really do extend out a ways, don't they?

I rather hurriedly painted the five crew members. Need to get it done by the end of the year!

That turned out pretty damn cool! I love all the weathering on it, makes it look like it's been traversing the wastes for a long time and yet it's such a mighty vehicle that it'll continue to do so for years to come.
