Not a bad year for me. Enough about me, I am interested in how YOU did in 2025. What did you get finished, what is still lagging behind, what was unexpected?

I barely held it together.

In terms of miniatures, I think I built four or five spaceships and started another half dozen. I finished one mini I had started well over a year ago.

These days I sometimes find contentment in things that used to bring me joy. That’s a positive step.

It's my first year after hiatus and it's a mess. I wanted new army that's not IG and ended year with 2,5k IG army a lot of time spent on remember how to paint. Played few games of kill team and that's all. Not very productive but I'm absolutely happy to return into hobby. And moreover I at least know what exactly army I want to collect.

My Plog feel free to post your criticism here

Let's see how 2025 worked out.

Painting
27 actual minis of my own +1 Legion Imperialis Reaver for a friend.
87 bits of scenery/dungeon dressing/small terrain, etc (barrels, tables, torches, banners, shields, weapons, small wall sections etc.)
I did beat my 2024 output minis wise - unless you count all the Legion Imperialis infantry I painted in 2024 (I don't)
I blew it away if you count the dungeon dressing bitz (I don't)....
Base Coating/Priming - a couple hundred minis

Gaming
RPGs - average of 2/week - D&D of some edition, Pathfinder, Star Finder
Minis -average of 2/week - 40k, Sigmar, Bolt Action, Konflict 47, BTech
Board games - 3-4 games most Fridays up until Nov.
So pretty much the same as before

Purchases
Built out 1/2 a Krieg force (2nd 1/2 coming in 2026)
Built an Ad Mech army
expanded my Bolt Action Germans by a few tanks
expanded my Bolt Action Americans by a few tanks
Built a Cathay army for Old World.
Added about 7 boardgames to the collection
Added 3 Marauder Bombers to the 40k collection
Bought a few Space Marine Captains of various sorts

For 2026? I need to focus on storage/transport options.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

One of the first years where I pretty much stuck to the plan I made in january. Though my November/december project will be stretched into the next year.
But my plan was:
Fast attack for my 40K orks, and baseline Ashigaru for my Oathmark human army.
Painting:
I finished 80 ashigaru (40bows, 40 spears)
3 of these Ironjawz riders (goregruntas?)
4 of the 40K riders
About 8 Savage orkz on boars(to be used as bikers).
Additionally I painted some ships and fighters for Star Wars Armada.
Also 6 breen cruisers for Attack Wing.

Gaming:
The year started strong with about two gaming sessions per month, more than half of these Armada, the others OPR. Got less in summer and the last game this year in october I think.
Also continued my solo Star Trek Alliance campaign, but didn't finish it (stupid Computer games!)

Buying:
Ah, pretty bad this year. Escalated completely on Staw sets because of wizkids' availability issues in Europe.
Also bought into all HH-Mechanicum bundles which will probably have to wait at least two years before they get built.
The last couple of days I also got some eldar for yet another project that will have to wait.

Honestly? I failed all my hobby goals this year.

But between grief and the cause of said grief leading to house purchase? And an awful, awful lot of work related dickheads, that’s hopefully understandable.

Certainly I’ve bought far more than I painted, which is the exact opposite of my goal.

But for 2026? I now have an actual proper hobby room.

So here’s to 2026, doing a Sam Beckett and putting right what once went wrong.

Fed up of Scalpers? But still want your Exclusives? Why not join us?

Hey look! It’s my 2025 Hobby Log/Blog/Project/Whatevs
