I really like your army colors, the stripes are so cool and eye catching, how do you get them? They remind me of a style that uses tape to move some areas then spray with paint and pull tape away after, is this what you do or do you do stripes by hand?

Check out my little ork story I am working on here!

If I recall correctly (my marines have been dormant for years <.<' ), I usually paint the big boxy thing in front the same color as my bollters. seems to give it just enough definition from all metal.
Loving that orange by the way- looks amazing!

You need to bring back the Marines Chrysemys. I don't recall how to properly spell that, but I always liked your marines. Brother Jaska is one of my favorites.

Hahaha you got it right. Thanks- And I agree with you- I kinda miss the orange and green myself. I gotta figure out where all of them went now xD

PICTURE DUMP! Here is some WIP from my team mates Executioners. As you may all remember, the color of an Executioners shoulder pad designates what kind of unit he is in. The green is for tactical, purple for devastators, red for scouts, etc. As you can see here there is a full tactical unit and further down a devastator sergeant. I hope you like!

Thanks guys! I believe that the Executioner army is very near to completion for our 2013 Adepticon tournament. Once he completes the bases, touch ups, and paints the bodies of some loyalist scum, I'll try to get a full army shot.

They are the standard terminators. I'm not sure if Adepticon is allowing any Heresy stuff into the tournament so I went with the basics. I have punched them all out and have started to clean them up, drill barrels, etc. Once the Holiday season ends I should be able to reclaim my table so the painting and modeling can continue.

118 days left to Adepticon. In that time I need to complete the previously pictured Tiger Claw missile launchers. Complete my terminators, paint Huron, locate two more missile launchers and build them. Then my army is all set. I also need to do some writing but that doesn't really belong in the P&M blog. Does it? Nope.

Now that the holidays have passed, I have been able to get at least a little bit of modeling done. I drilled out some barrels and put two terminators together. Expect some pictures once I base them. I also discovered that I was incorrect with the number of tactical marines i had already made for my Tiger Claw army so I now get to make two more! I already have some ideas for them.

I'll be having a New Years day battle. I may try to have some live event day coverage if you guys would be interested. I'll be bringing the Tiger Claws. Hopefully the Executioners will be arriving as well. You can never have enough practice with your army. I want to play a few more times before I mess with my list to much.

Happy New Year everybody! Yes, I'm early.

1/1/13 - I got some stuff done. I had a battle and it was good.

First up some WIP of some of my latest Tiger Claws. I will apologize in advance for my greenstuff fo.

Top image shows the four most recent builds I've made. The bottom shot is a close up of one of the terminators. The idea is that he has come across some banners of an enemy and is about to knock them over. I wanted to have some bits of ripped banner hanging from one of them.

Here is the army I brought to todays game. My Tiger Claws with a handful of Ice Angels being thrown in for proxies.

My teammate the Executioners.

The Tyranid Army

Here is deployment from our battle today. For some reason not all of my pictures uploaded properly so I'll be editing this post shortly, but in the meantime check out the action right before it started.

This was how one of our dice rolls ended up. Perfectly cocked on its corner. One of the lovely side effects of a textured board.

Thanks Gits. I added a few more photos and then discovered I was having uploading issues because of file size. Time to do some trimming before more get added.

To summarize the battle. 2,000 points Executioners and Tiger Claws versus Orks and Tyranids. Dawn of War set up, relic scenario. The other team stole the initiative and the game was afoot. 60 boys, 5 warriors, 2 zoanthropes, and a venomthrope pushed for the relic. A trukk full of nobs supported by Lootas, and on turn 2 genestealers, moved up our right flank. The tervigon mass produced gants for the first four turns on our left flank and fed them into the center. The trygon came up on our left flank as well trying to surround the relic but scattered WAY off.

My Tiger Claws pushed for the relic in the center in mass while the Executioners covered my flanks. His assault squad took out the zoanthropes and eventually got into the tervignon before succumbing to the monsterous creature in close combat. (mostly due to horrible rolls) The center was at first a hail of bolter fire tearing through the hordes of ork boys. My terminators assaulted a mob of boys and in close combat his boys took out ALL of my terminators leaving only Huron to fend for himself, which he did! Meanwhile nearby Thulsa Kane led a tactical unit into combat with a recently arrived Trygon. Kane defeated the creature but lost all of his unit. He then charged into the same mob with Huron. The two commanders finished off the squad and sent them packing. The squad then regrouped and Kane charged them again but this time the boys were to many and Kane went down from their massed attacks.

Huron then called in an orbital bombardment on the nobs with the warboss killing all of them except the warboss. Huron then joined up with one of the two remaining Tiger Claw tactical squads which quickly fell back with the relic. However they weren't fast enough. The warriors, which were still at full strength ran them down and killed most of the tactical marines. While the lootas and hive guard killed the remaining members of the other squad.

At the game end the board was rather desolate. My only remaining marines were Huron and two tactical marines, all which were still engaged with the Warriors. The only remaining Executioners were a full 5 man devastator squad with missile launchers. Of the Tyranids there remained three warriors in combat, two hive guard, and two genestealers which were hiding off to the right to get line breaker. The only remaining orks were a couple of lootas that had managed to keep their heads down.

Final tally, Imperial 3 victory points, Xenos 2 victory points. It was a great game and it came down to the wire. The Executioner devastators were the MVP taking out both the Tervigon after it killed the assault squad and taking out the Warboss after his retinue was blown away by the orbital strike.

OH-I Wanna get out of here

Why does the termi with the banner poles have his pads on e wrong way around? Normally don't care on power armor, but there is a left and right side of them for sure on terminators.

Dang it. How did I do that? More importantly, how did I not notice that? Hmmm I'm not sure how I'm gonna fix that one. Thanks for catching that one whale.

Okay, after a rough week trying to remember what it was like to be at work again, I finally got my painting station back in order. For those of you keeping track Adepticon is 103 days away.

I assembled more terminators and continued cleaning up the previous put together marines. I'm hoping that when it warms up this week to get some priming in.

Painting has been minimal outside of working on some missile launchers. I added the first layer of gray to the bodies. Need some washes and highlights and they'll be done. After that its time for stripes!

Thanks guys.

Yellowbeard, I actually have a mixture of playground sand ( the super fine stuff ) and the slightly larger granule that I can't remember where I got from. There is actually a third size in my mixture as well but I'm almost out of that stuff so it doesn't come up often.

the larger granules look like "fine" or "ultra fine" ballast from a model railroading shop. Brian has more experience with that end of things so I would deferr to him on this but thats what that looks like to me.
