It's not terribly competitive, that being said expect some great players and solid army lists. But over all it's pretty relaxed and friendly.

what types of prizes are there for winning and/or participating? Wondering what the 20 bucks covers cause i know i can play there for free with a friend or two.

The best way to describe the atmosphere is very friendly competition. Everyone is definatley pulling out all the tricks to win and taking advatage of any tactical mistake you make, but everyone is also super helpful if you have any questions about anything on their lists or any in game mechanic. We had a question on multiple charges and LOS in our game and the guy who knew the most was at the next table and he was more than happy to take 2 minutes from his game to go over the proper rule with us.

The last tourney I went to at GW had 3 blood angel armies that were exactly the same +/- one unit. At all the HS tourneys I've been too, every army tends to be different so the entire tourney is a lot of fun.

If you get the chance to come out, it's definately worth your while.

The prizes are 100 percent of the pot to store credit.

It then gets divided between the 1rst, 2nd, 3rd and best sportsmanship. The percents are on their website and I can't recall off the top of my head

Thanks for the info on the tourny. I may have to make it down to next months. I am pretty good with tthe rules but far from perfect so I hope people will bare with me. My buddy is just learning but is catching on quickly. We aren't super competitive but enjoy the game so it will be nice to get a chance to game with more knowledgeable gamers. Also, what is the typical age of the players? We are mature players and were hoping for the most part others at the club are as well.

Proxies are allowed, but within reason. Best thing is to call the store and ask specific to what you want to proxy and what you want to use for it.

Definitely all mature players, hard to say the average age, but I'd guess mid-late 20's and up (no kids that I've seen so far).

I want to game... here are the options... I have to drop my car off at the dealership right at Vaughan Mills for a 12:30 appointment. So, we could start at 11 and then give me a 10 minute break at 12:25 p.m. (I would need you to drive with me though so I could get back to Legends)... then we continue gaming until done. OR, we could just start at 1 p.m. Up to you.

Either is fine with me, i don't mind giving you a drive back, plus starting at 11 with a 10 min break will probably result in more games then starting at 1

I kicked the wide out to ottawa and the kid to my parents so I could paint my house this weekend. But I was super smart and took today off work, to keep sunday open for gaming. Mwahahahahahahahahahaha.

Damn, if you can, marry a tradeswoman or a tradesman. Even if you have to go gay. It sucks having to be the home improvement guy. I'm making regular snackrifices for the dice gods to luck on sunday.
