I keep poking around for more information about this game. The models are wicked, and you paint them with serious skills. I might have to hunt up a rulebook or something to find some fluff about all of it.

Can't help but be a sucker for post apocalyptic stuff.

I dig the varying degrees of green. Purple and green is a ballsy color combo, and you make it work very well.

Thanks Cam.
It's great if he looks quite old, then I reached the effect I wanted to achieve.

Hi !
Yeah the models are full of character. And post apocalyptic universe tend to attract me.

I really like that game. I love the models, I love the wide variety of factions, their different visual styles, their gameplay. You can download the rulebook for free on the official website : http://eden-the-game.com/
You just have to register (on the top right) and then you'll have access to the downloads in the "member zone" (on the left). The game is fast and dynamic.

There is no background in the pdf version of the rulebook, but to sum it up in a few words there was a climatic change that leads to lack of food and so on. International tensions increased 'til a global war started. Nobody remembers who shot first, but it triggered a chain reaction and tons of atomic bombs and other massive destruction weapons that almost wiped the human race from the earth.
Classical background, but efficient. The most interesting part is the background of each faction. Who are the Askaris ? Where do the ISC robots come from ? Why does the resistance have acces to advanced technical devices ?

My ISC faction for Eden the Game.
Those models are from the boardgame Escape, wich is related to the Eden universe. I painted them mostly to lend them for Eden initiation games in my local club.

I painted them 4 in 3 sessions. That's quite simple painting, I wanted to have them finished quickly.

And I also painted 2 car wrecks as sceneries :

Thank you guys.
These days, I didn't have much time to paint. I have several models in WIP, but nothing is complete at this stage. On the other hand, I have had the opportunity to play several Eden games lately.
Last friday we played a three players game at the club, and since I had my camera I took some photos. I thought it might be good to share them with you.
Gitsplitta you should have a look, there are ISC fighters in action !

The forces in presence were :
- Sam's Bamakas
- my ISC, that I lent to a guy at the club
- my Askaris, that I was playing

In a multiplayer game, you roll a table for the mission objectives. There are several objectives, that apply to all the players. In our game, they were the following :
- there were 4 communication beacons to activate, placed on the board diagonals
- there was a bonus for killing opponents leaders

We had never played a multiplyer game, but it works really well. Game was fast, fun, and bloody.

The ISC patrol is controlling the area. The drone have been informed that mutants could be present in this city sector.

Indeed, they are. Three warriors from the Bamaka tribe are roaming between the ruins.

A little bit further, desert fighters have the Blue Rikishi (and his big belly ^^ ) in sight.
The grafiti on the wall says "Mutant inside"... there are indeed mutants in there !

While the askari warrior charges the Bamaka shaman, and explodes his head against the tarmac...

An assassin infiltrates behind my Janissar, and trys to eleminate her. Almeh turns around to rescue her leader.
She hits so hard that she kills the infiltrator outright.

But another threat approaches. The ISC drones have come really close, they are standing just behind the ruin wall.

The robots are ready for combat, they aim at repressing any form of resistance.

Black Ubume teleports through the ruin and activates the fourth beacon. Almeh gets to her and does what she does best : she beats her to death. ^^

[...] to be continued [...]

Yep, that's what they are for. It's a really good game, in my opinion. I like it a lot.

End of the report :

After they both killed their opponents, Almeh and the Warrior attack Abama. The scaly Bamaka is powerless and can't resist such a fury.

From this point, the only survivor on the board from the Bamaka Clan is the Giant Tarar, who is walking across the board and activates the beacons.

His huge silhouette hangs over the car wrecks :

On the opposite side of the map, the drones leader blocks Almeh's path.

He attacks her, but she's faster than him and proves him that he shouldn't have bothered her. The robot gets his head cut off and his body falls to the ground in a sparks rain.

I win the game because I succeeded in killing two faction leaders.
However, the other two players also gained some points thanks to the communication beacons they activated, even the Bamaka player who has only one fighter left ends the game with 75 points. In Eden, killing everyone doesn't guaranty that you'll win the game.

I finished painting Tarik today, so I have - until the upcoming releases - painted all the Askari models I have.

The blue really makes him stand out from the rest of the warband, that's nice !

And no, never played that game... But I live far from any "civilized" city ATM, so Eden games are far from my reach ! Maybe when I move to Paris... But, are the models in metal ?

@ Yggdrasil : yes, the models are metal, appart from some of the very first models on new releases that are produced in resin.
I don't know if this happens regularly, I only have 2 resin models that a friend bought for me at Salute (the big Convention in UK). So overall you can consider that the models are made of metal.

Well, I've stayed clear of metal for years now, and... Having TRIED (like, REALLY) to get myself into Infinity or to paint some OOP GW models but failed, I have to admit I should probably not try metal again... ever.

@ Yggdrasil :
I understand that, I prefer plastic models too. However, on Skirmish games it doesn't bother me too much to habe metal models, since it's easier to transport and take care of 3 to 5 models instead of a whole 40k army for instance.
Magnet and metal boxes are my friends.
Oh, the metal is softer than GW's one, so it's really easier to assemble/pin/prepare. A solution for you would be to get Escape models. Those are plastic.

@ pfibp :
Thank you. I struggled with his skin so I'm happy if you like the result.

Since I painted every Askari model I have so far, I'll switch to other projects.
I have a BIG demon to paint wich is a present from my brother, and also Communist Goblins for another skirmish game called Furie.

Wow, should have taken a certain amount of time.
Glad you like my models. I really like my Dakkajet too. So sad it explodes so fast in game.

Do you guys remember that I painted some wolves and heroes for a Vampire counts army ?
We are starting to gather all the models from every painter. We're a bit later than planned due to real life and so. But the army is growing. I have a few pictures for you :

My wolves, now based :

Two wolves, one from myself, the other one from my friend Golbarg. They look different, but still work well together imho :

A unit of... what's the name of that unit again ? Can't remember the english name....

And unit fillers from the skeletton units :

This army will be sold, when complete, for a charity association that helps suffering children.
