Well the old hand to hand combat presumably made wolf fights a lot harder. I killed two in a row at the lake today (it was misty, so after sleeping in a hut I came out to a clear day with two dead wolves on the porch).

No idea where that thing came from though... I guess it spawns in one of the side rooms considering in the few seconds I was in there I'd searched all the rooms bar the hallway to the generators and one cupboard (for the express reason of checking for scares). Good to know for future reference though, as were I to spawn in that area it'd be one of the first places I'd check (even if the loot's not amazing).

...Which brings me to the question: where do trousers spawn? Heh, I found four jackets, three sets of gloves, two hats and two sets of boots, but no replacement trousers. Oh RNG... I suppose the clothes on the dead guys have frozen solid, or maybe Canadians just starch their trousers to the point you need to saw them off?

Nah, the game's just letting you know that you need to lose some weight. The waist on those dead guy pants is too tight to fit you.

Tried another run of commander ironman with no squad upgrades. It seems to be going well despite one setback and the avatar progress going so fast. Right now I have to assault a facility just to slow them down some. I would've done it sooner but a bunch of guerilla ops happened. Also due to one tile space I managed to get my super sniper captured (tried to capture an enemy VIP and succeeded but at a price) so for now I have to deal with a crappy one.

Other than that I think I'm in either end of may or june and I have pretty much all tier 2 gear and had all the big tier 2 gear (main weapons and armor) since about may 12-14th in the game. Anyway the game is going well for the most part.

At least on the plus side if this run goes well I may be able to free the soldier that got captured.

I love running into people I know in video games like this

Playing Valkyria Chronicles,
I meet Wilkin, "Oh hi Kakashi!"
Came across random thug soldier "Steve Blum my man!"
Hiring scouts when "Gaara! Hey!"

On that subject I swear I heard a roommate playing a ww2 game that had marcus fenix as one of the soldiers. It's like jeez I guess he couldn't get enough war in one world. Alternatively maybe Bender went back in time a little too far that one episode.

Doing a second playthrough of System Shock 2.This time, I thought I'd do it in the style of a let's play. I'm talking to nobody of course, since I'd actually be too nervous to put a video up there, but despite how awkward it sounds, it's strangely making it fun.

They're probably off doing calibrations or something...

I started Bloodborne again. Despite my initial impressions of it maybe not being for me, I'm kind of hooked now. Defeated the Cleric Beast on my first try somehow, then proceeded to get destroyed by Gascoigne like 5 times before I beat him. Upgraded Kirkhammer may have helped there. Kind of excited to see what's next but also worried.

A little tip; Bring fire paper for the next bosses - There's an optional one and a mandatory one as the next step. Both are weak to fire

Wahahaha. Killed the three cats (three at once? Well now I feel zero guilt for exploiting the pathing and hiding in the trees with my halberd!) in the forest and took on the ginormous butterfly. Surprisingly easy boss!

Nearly psychologically ready to head into Blight Town. But gonna do a bit more exploring and looting here- there's a couple of items I haven't found yet I'm sure.

I've got a pile of purple moss and blooming purple moss. Killed the dude in the watchtower and the hydra (that was like a zelda boss, not up to the usual standard of Dark Souls!).

Been messing around in the Valley of the Drakes, killed a few Drakes, but might head for Blight Town now.

Feeling pretty jubliant, which means Blight Town will probably be horrible and crush my soul.

I think annoying in the sense of getting poisoned constantly and navigating a huge maze would be the best descriptions for it. If you hate both all I gotta say is "Have fun man :( !".

After playing some Dropzone Commander last night, I was in the mood for some Supreme Commander. Spent most of the evening constantly restarting a skirmish. - Had gone for a fight against an 'adaptive ai'.

And done badly. Switched tracks and went for a 'turtle ai' and... it ended up being kinda too easy. Ok, sure, I was getting shelled to pieces, practically without noticing. But... after an hour and 10 minutes, the AI hadn't build a nuke defence. So, I'd launched a nuke, hoping to panic it...

Ended up taking out both the main enemy base with it, but they're commander too.

Started playing xcom 2 again today. Lost some vets but got enough replacements. Lost my two online friends as rookies of all times. One was killed by a muton or something getting shot by him and the other was captured. Also considering my 2 other soldiers were badly injured and once again by one space of movement I couldn't rescue the VIP which was that experienced soldier from before and count me freaking pissed. Least my vets lived and so far I think it's the only mission I for sure failed. Sadly I also lost a contact region because of the failed council mission though I quickly regained it. It sucks as I would've gotten that experienced sniper back and he had intel.

I also lost at least one experienced soldier per mission (lieutenant level each one I think) in certain missions. At least 2 of them were grenadiers.

I have managed to win missions though and most of the base is excavated. I also recently got a full squad of good 4 experienced soldiers at least at full health and they're starting to sport plasma gear mostly because my engineers and scientists are increasing significantly. I do have to say my supplies are somewhat on the small side so I will be changing that when possible.

I find it funny that my ranger has 45 dodge or so meaning 2-3 shots on him even when flanking him have only grazed him which sucks when it happens to you but funny when it happens to your opponent (it's like damaging and failing to crit. except worse).

Avatar progress has been curbed somewhat. I'm 3 bars down from full avatar progress and one of their 2 facilities is about to be sabotaged. Their main one is in Australia because aussies are secretly evil I guess.

Anyway I have to eat and then go to bed so maybe tomorrow I will see more progress. Hopefully this 4 man commander ironman run works out. It's fairly amazing I've handled things so well this far even.

Thanks for the tip, helped a lot with the Blood-Starved Beast. I managed to kill it on my first attempt, though it's poison did kill me almost immediately after I killed it as I used all my antidote during the fight. At least I got the chalice off the corpse before it happened.

Stuck on Amelia now, however. I wrecked the Hemwick boss (is it supposed to be that easy?) with no issue but Amelia is almost at the point of frustrating me, I think I've died around 8 times? I don't quite get it, either. Even with a +5 Kirkhammer with some gems on it that add more damage and cause slow poisoning I can't seem to get her down past 1/3 health before she mauls me, even with fire paper thrown into the mix the damage seems too low. I'm thinking her HP is ridiculously high or something, at least I won't let her heal with all these numbing mists I have. I guess it's just a case of 'git gud' and maximum effort...

Maybe I should see about upgrading my saw spear to +4 at least and see if that offers an improvement. Doubt it will, but we'll see.

Scholar of the First Sin. Having Fun on the Frigid Outskirts ... damn I hate this level.

I'm not looking forward to fighting the two cats as the one was pain enough. I've beaten the Ivory King though, that was pretty cool. I've only got a few more things to do then I have finished the game in its entirety. My chest will swell with pride, then I can put the game in to the darkest recesses of my mind

Vicar Emelia is a fight of attrition - She has a lot of hitpoints and she can heal herself later in the fight (when she prays, throw the mist grenade). Fire is effective against her, but she will be the biggest challenge you face up to that point - Compared to when you meet her, her hitpoint pool is immense, so you are not wrong in your assumptions.

Stay behind her and get those dodges in. If she faces you, run around her - She is deadly from the front.

And yes, the Hemwick boss is a cakewalk in the first playthrough. It get's more annoying in NG+, but it's overall one of the easiest bosses in the game.

Against Vicar Amelia I turned the music off as that twinned with her constant screaming did my nut in. I found it easier after that

Saw weapons have a passive bonus against stronger beast types so yeah, that might help, especially with fire papaer. You'll do it though, I found her pretty tricky as well to begin with but when you get in the flow and can recognise her attack pattern she's a doddle. You're doing the thing with the Numbing Mists which I totally forgot about on my first play through and I managed to beat her. Nothing like making things harder for yourself.

That bad? I've started playing slightly before WoW promo was announced, however that was related to Frozen Throne nostalgia and not having PC when the game came out. As it turned out, the game might have been great in its time, now it's really not worth the monthly subscription. It's probably different, if you're in a guild and doing co-op dungeon raids.

I do hope Blizz does something similar for other portraits.

People with "Heirloom" gear will one-shot you and then just camp you at the graveyard where you respawn in a Battleground.

To be honest, it's been like that for as long as I can remember. Even before heirlooms, you just got people in twink gear, and you still do now because a decent amount of it is still flat-out better than heirlooms for the same slot.

PvP, especially in the first 10-19 rung, has been a case of who has the better connection, the faster reactions, the better hotkeys and macros, and the most money for gear for a long while, certainly since before heirlooms. The main thing heirlooms do now in PvP is give more people a fighting chance.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Not at all.

I'm decked out in some decent quest gear as a warrior, yet enemy hunters of the same level in heirloom gear have four times as much health as I, I get one-shot by rogues in heirloom gear, etc. Heirlooms give much more of an advantage than reflexes - apparently some of them let you negate 50% of all damage at level 10-19!

Like I said, this issue existed before heirlooms did. The only difference is that heirlooms are easier to come by than most twink gear. You're also complaining about easily two of the more OP classes at low-level PvP. I'm not saying that heirlooms don't give advantages, just that they're really nothing new. The only difference between them and twink gear is that more people have heirlooms.
