I started adding some of the miscelaneous CoD pieces and just kept going. Kudos to anyone who can figure what I used for the lower window ledges.

They look like cut up strips of windscreen wipe blades to me mate.

First post but was so amazed with this I thought I would create an account and reply. Kudos bud fantastic work

They're actually the edge pieces from the movement trays for WFB, good guess though. Wish I could be posting updates, probably be another month before that, sorry.

I seldom ever care when it comes to scenery but this is awsome.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Thanks!
I've been getting a bunch of new idea watching some other blogs. I've relied rather heavily on using parts and kits. I want to move into a more comprehensive scratch building. Watching someone like Blackadder building complete & near identical models to Forge World resin out of nothing but styrene... Too cool. I also went to a model train expo which is always good for inspiration.

Excellent stuff! The extra work on the cathedral is amazing! Don't worry about using bitz in combination with scratching. As amazing as blackadder's stuff is, it also takes him forever to finish anything. Remember, it all gets painted in the end, and then you can't tell what it is made of.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Somehow I missed it, but what are you using for these excellent window bitz?

I see where you said you didn't have enough of them, but I didn't see what they were.

BTW- the skylights and roof equipment is completely full of WIN!

Thanks, it's funny that I just left a comment on your blog that you can get those windows at train stores! In particular these windows were from a train factory kit (along with the sky lights). I think the roof vents came from a pack of misc industrial bits (again from the train section of the hobby store).

See. my hobby shop has a lot of train stuff, but they don't stock that stuff, it's all special order from the Walther's Catalog there unfortunately. I'm assuming they are HO scale factory/warehouse windows?

I would go with S or O scale. Here is a secret resource of mine. Tichy Train Group

Which scale and window is the factory/warehouse multi-pane windows in your tower?

I think those may actually be an HO scale, and they represented windows that were like 10 feet tall or something (big warehouse windows). But they made for intricate large Gothic windows in the 40K world. They are like 1.5 x 3 inch. Here are some shots with GW COD bits to estimate the size.
