Sorry, just noticed this one...
then managed to upset him (Jervis)even further by suggesting that they re-release Pygmies for Warhammer... he thought that the original scultps and concepts was slightly rascist.... oops...
What a damned contemptable hand-wringer.
But then again given the PC enviorment that the British have created for themselves and the draconian "hate speach" laws they have on the books, GW staffers might find themselves arrested if they did re-release them. Brits have been arrested and tried for far less....remember what they did to Nick Griffith after all.
I like the old Pygmy models and fnd them amusing. I've got the whole range painted up. I've thought of having them put on mold, but I really can't think of a use for them that would justify the cost and effort.
I did manage to use them recently in my D&D game. My players got a kick out of being atatcked by a tribe of evil, cannibal haflings!
OK, back to the topic at hand...

Have a look at the Image below. It takes a special kind of arrogance to not realize why these are considered racist.

LuciusAR... then I must be arrogant... they are figures, a bit old in design, but figures.... That's not a racial slur...
There are some good Zulu wars figures floating around as well...

Druidic-
I'm certainly familiar with the Moores Murders. Charming couple...
But then again I'm a crime buff and am familar with other famous Brit murderers that the majority of Americans will not know about such as Peter Sutcliffe and Dennis Nielsen.
LuciusAR-
It's arrogance to reject the whiny sort of "senstive" PC-drone who expresses faux outrage at everything? Your opinion has been noted, considered (well not really), and rejected.
Is it "racist" that I put 25mm Zulu shields on my savage orcs as well?

TR Its nothing to do with faux outrage, nor is it appropriate to compare these miniatures to antomically correct miniatures of Zulus or the use of Zulu sheilds on other miniatures. Thats basically a strawman argument. Have a good look at the miniatures. The the massivly enlanrged comedy thick lips, the huges bones through the noses. They're basically reminisant of the old Herge images of the 'primative darkie.' Disgraceful, you can’t even sell miniatures of offensive racial stereotypes anymore, it's PC Gooorrrnnn mad I tells ya!

Okay, now you've gone too far. Never use an image from a Tintin comic to try and prove a point. Never! The Pygmies may be racial stereotypes, but does that make them racist? Stereotype doesn't equal racism. Of course, the Pygmy minis may be casting that particular stereotype in a negative light. That would be racism. Also, most Zulu miniatures on the market today are a far cry from "anatomically correct". Oh horrors! I must be a racist, for I use anatomically incorrect Zulu miniatures in simulated combat encounters! Throw me in the brig!

You know...
I need to find a use for the pymgy miniatures so I can use them in public games just get under the skin of the oh so sensitive PC types.
Methinks I need a "counts as' halfling Dogs of War unit to include in all my WFB armies now. Now I just need to come up with a good 40k usage. I know! A penal company!!
Edit:
You know upon reflection my comparison to my savage orc unit with it's Zulu shields is a valid point rather than being a "straw man argument" as you have contended.
Much the same "point" could be made about them as with the pygmy miniatures.
You see to a hyper-sensitive PC drone or a perpetually agrieved minority with a chip on his shoulder my orcs could be just as offensive as those pygmy miniatures in that it's mocking african tribal culture and portraying africans as brutal savages. Of course to anyone rational who is not oh so sensitive or is just looking for an excuse to feign being "offended" that's just absurd...much the same as faux outrage over the old pygmy line is an absurdity.

OFF TOPIC!
People who express rage at "insensitivity" over LITTLE METAL AND PLASTIC PEOPLE FROM FANTASY UNIVERSES need to really consider why they are doing it, not just because they think they should.
Why would it be insulting to think of a Zulu Warrior as a savage? They WERE savages.
END OFF TOPIC
My only name-dropping I can do is not gaming related, but I met both Kurt Cobain and Lane Staley (Alice in Chains) when I saw their concerts. The only two Big-time musicians I ever met with killed themselves on the same day, a few years apart.
I might be cursed. I haven't met any more of my favorite bands because of that reason.

It's not as simplistic as you would like to believe. Black face was used in minstrel performances for a number of years, where African-Americans would be caricatured by exaggeration of their features...usually by white performers in get-up. This stereotype was used to dehumanize blacks and parody black as animals (the term coo...n has reference here..as the song ""All Coo... ns Look Alike to Me" was a nationwide hit for a time). It's not being PC, it's simply showing respect.

The mother of all name dropping anecdotes..My great-great grandfather came to America with the Kennedy family's ancestor. When word came back that my great-great-great grandfather's ship was lost at sea, Kennedy asked my g-g-grandad if he wanted to stay in New York and help him set up a brewery, but my g-g-grandad passed so he came to MS and got some free gov't land to set up a farm instead. Sigh.
My uncle dented Gary Power's U2 while it was refueling in Korea, he stepped where he shouldn't have stepped.
My cousin would fill in for various members of the Rolling Stones when they were on tour back in the day. He was a record promoter and producer. He has a recording of the first Woodstock and babysat a lot of the musicians until they performed. Jim Morrison threw up on him on the subway while he was wrangling him in Paris. He met every Beatle but Paul for some reason after they broke up and did their independent stuff.
