Need I say what I think of this so far? (Hint: Look at the above posts.)

I was thinking today how a Land Speeder Storm would work. I think that:

- The pilot has a remote control operating device; he goes with the rest of the squad.

- The gunner stays where he is and supports the squad.

- The rest of the squad jump out first, etc.

It just makes more sense - How can the Gun mount be fired without a gunner?

I'm not too sure if that was useful in any way, more confusing I'd imagine.

Considering there is 6 scouts with the landspeeder and that a squad of scouts is composed of 5 I guess that leaves the driver in the speeder while the others do what they have to do.

Otherwise:

So here is the progress. Still have to do the chipping on the central section holding the cables but this should give you a good idea! Otherwise my compressor blew in the process... arrrgggghhh....

Chipping looks amazing. Could you give us an idea of how you use the oil paints to accomplish the initial weathering? Thanks!

Fantastic work so far. The oil weathering really starts to come alive once you get the chipping in. This will be a nice reference for the future ^_-. Can't wait to see it all finished and winning another demon for you!

That look's amazing already. The fumes wear and tear at the back is looking real sweet. How you've got it too look that good already, weathering wise is beyond me.

Nice work and thanks for sharing!

I particularly like the direction of the wear and tear to emphasize the modus operandi and speed of the Land Speeder.

Last picture before leaving for Paris. The exterior of the speeder is done. I only have to do the interior and the scouts which received the base with the airbrush.

The weathering is looking great!

The interrior and details should really make the worn outside pop. Looking forward to the finished model.

I have to confess that when you first started this project I wasn't confident of how great it would look. But in just a few stages is very easy to see how cool this is going to be. The weathering alone has totally transformed the piece. I can't wait to see the details build up. I'm staying tuned to this one

I think that this project is a great example of how we can bring fantasy and sci-fi models "to life" in a really realistic and exciting way. Much like the Forgeworld Masterclass painting guide this speeder really showcases how we can pull techniques and methods from various modelling styles and mediums into 40K to add depth and character.

The chipping on this speeder is especially impressive and matches just as well in terms of execution and quality to chipping on professionally painted Military scale models.

I totally agree with Gundam, some of the best modeling tips I've seen are from war diorama websites, those guys shoot for such a crazy level of realism.
