I listen to metal, rock, and alt while playing. Some fun gaming music. Andrew W.K.

Music I have found that doesn't fit.
Portishead - Makes you want to put a Las pistol to your head.
They Might be Giants - I get to distracted by the songs. Singing along.

I have come to steal your pornography and sodomize my vast imagination.

We refuse to take sides in this anymore. And we refuse to let you turn us against one another. We know who we are now, we can find our own way between order and chaos...

It's over because we've decided it's over. Now get the hell out of our galaxy! Both of you.

From C&C Red Alert? If yes then i <3 you

As if on cue, you hear two people singing from the stairwell, and the door is opened and a pair of very smelly, very dirty guardsmen stumble in, completely drunk, and covered in vomit, and immediately collapse unconsious on the porch. You drag them to their beds, realising that they will not be waking up for some time.

We often use the BSG soundtracks as great battle music, things like this (crank it right up btw... ):

And then there is the Imperial Guard anthem :

And then there is the other stuff:

brings Eldar to mind, fast and lethal.

like the necrons or the adeptus mechanicus

During gameplay our GW played LotR soundtrack and similar soundtracks

While painting it's either with a movie on or sometimes my exotica music going- Martin Denny Arthur Lyman and with some surf rock mixed in like the Space Cossacks.

I normally like metal, but I find it too distracting to listen to while gaming. My preferences tend to run toward saoundtracks. ESPECIALLY Ace Combat.

in any game I play in the heat of a battle I always reach for the 3 inches of blood, Amon Amarth, Lamb of God, or Slayer. they are my personal favorites for gaming. Then Clint Mansell - Lux Aeterna is also nigh on perfect for very very tense moments

I dunno if it's been mentioned yet, but the DoW2 soundtrack is actually pretty awesome

0:25 is the whole reason I ever touch the vile eldar in the game.

Music is too distracting. Every time there's ever music involved people start to zone out and don't really pay attention to the game anymore. Having background noise just muddles up the whole event in my experience.

This thread seems to come up on a monthly basis. I wonder why it's not a sticky in one of the forums on here.

Oh, and just because, here is the anti-metal

Haha metal is the best. People that are weak with the metal are easily distracted

Haha and not in a good way.

Soundtracks seem to be reigning here. I have listened to many of the provided videos and must say I like

The best music for an Inquisition force is Hammer to Fall, by Queen. The lyrics are so appropriate!

For Orks, hard rock, excuse me, HARD ROKK! AC/DC, Metallica, Motley Crue, etc.

My current girlfriend is in a cover band, so I've been listening to more Queen recently. I agree that a lot of Queen songs are annoying, but some of them are actually really good.

Queen's a great band and if you don't like them you're an objectively bad person.

Some songs are definitely better than others though.

Queen are awesome, but they have 3 songs that get overplayed to death

1. Bohemian Rhapsody
2. We Will Rock You
3. We Are The Champions

Ignore those and it's a much better band

Also, Princes of the Universe is a great 40K Queen song even if it is about Highlander.

Metal all day. Ive only ever lisened to music once while playing and it was Metallica. I like to lisen to music while painting more than while gaming.

Its what we do best. We die standing

Am I the only member of Dakka whose brain and ear drums have not been turned to a consistency of thin gruel by the likes Grungellikilla and Satannika

It is fine if you are all into that but personally would find it impossible to play a game with it in the background.

apologies Grunt missed your post
What is NPR please?

Any ways it is good old BBC Radio3 for me!

I play whatever comes to mind but me and my friend love to listen to music. I like Cursive, which is Indie but REALLY good. However, I mostly play one band as it is my Favorite, Chiodos.
Best Song Probably

Video is bland but the song is amazing.
I also like MSI, Isles and Glaciers, Gorillaz, and some other stuff.
