Mmm, Zelda...

Anyone notice the woman picking her nose in this one and the little girl scratchin her butt in the other?

the woman under the Bionacle sign is biting her fingernail.. of course she could be cleaning the finger after a good gold dig, but she doesn't have the finger in her nose, so your accusal is substantial at best..

The fat guy is quite famous among the anime crowd. His online name is Pandabubba, if I recall correctly. He dresses like that deliberately in order to break the minds of fangirls worldwide.

Oh, mutton chops ftw too.

Now I'll have to cave and track down costume pics from ComiCon ...

haha, thanks man!, i made pretty much all of the props of our group, the inquisitor was alittle bit of a rush job, he had a perfect coat and hat planned but the people who were making them bailed out on him and left him hanging, poor guy.

the Sister armor i am really proud of,

pfft! Heretic propaganda, only the unfaithful will have their weapons fail upon them in battle! i've fired it five times and not had any problems

for the record, i get to see her in that, and it's pretty good! shes my wife.
she doesnt play 40k, but she does play Dark Heresy, infact it's Heresy that got her into the Sister of Battle intrest.

i agree! that said, i've green stuffed them onto one of my commissars!

Schepp himself wrote:This is maybe the first really cool costume for 40k characters. Most of the time, 40k costumes just look cheap. Not that I can build anything better, but making something real-life for 40k is like an instant geekbutton.

But these are nicely made.

And the Commisar is the best because he doesn't take himself too seriously.

thank you for noticing, i get alot of negative feedback regarding the chops, but i done them for two reasons, firstly i was going for a ciaphas cain look, and secondly 40k is all about exaggeration, i had remarkable fun wearing the damn things.
i'll be wearing the same outfit for gencon, just with a big valhallan style greatcoat also.

now someone mentioned Krieg costumes? there was a second commissar and two Kriegsmen going around also, they done pretty well in my opinion.

And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity......

Yeah that's also a great cosplay, i just wish i didnt stare at the tape that was painted over on her helmet every time i see the costume..

It's a great realistic version of a character, i'd like to see more of that trend sometimes..

O... K... everybody look embarrassed and say sorry for all of the "comments" made about Kommissar's wife. For the record, I was always in the Zelda crowd

Anyway, excellent costumes Kommissar. Plasma Pistol looks great in the dark.

As you should be.

To be honest i am not a big fan of cosplay nor usually that impressed by many of the costumes I see posted on forums. They often fail for a number of reasons:

1. The guy/girl wearing it is unbelievable for the role and breaks the illusion (space marines don't have braces nor wear glasses, etc.)

2. Poor attention to detail or faithfulness to the subject matter

You however have neither of these issues with this SOB costume. Your wife pulls off the look perfectly and the costume is convincing to all hell. I'm curious as I have not seen any pics that show one, does the costume have a backpack/respirator unit? I think a Seraphim jumppack would be a killer addition especially since she already has the two pistols...

Regardless, excellent work.

we want to make her a seraphim pack, but the first addition to her list is a helmet, then a full bolter, and some extra details on her armor.

she does have a backpack though,

we wanted it to look alittle more archaic, so we deviated from the standard backpack, adding the smoke stacks.
the tube hanging down the back that is seen in some shots is a camelbak drinking tube that's usually affixed under one of the pauldrons, we wanted the backpack to have some utility, so the top can be removed and we can keep small things inside, such as wallets, smokes, emergency repair kit ect.
and obviously theres a working camelbak inside so she can drink water whenever.

surprisingly the armor is pretty light, and were looking at areas to add fans.

Kommissar, I'm sure you get this all the time, but what do you usually charge(or would you charge if you've never done commission before) for a costume of this level?

Say, something like these two:

You know you're really doing something when you can make strangers hate you over the Internet. - Mauleed
Just remember folks. Panic. Panic all the time. It's the only way to survive, other than just being mindful, of course-but geez, that's so friggin' boring. - Aegis Grimm

i'm more of an individual prop designer than a full costume type.
i've done a few commissions for clients, but those are based on sketches or reference material they provide, steam punk guns for example.

individual object and props i can do, most clothing however, is not my skill set yet,
i like to make armor, and that's the closest i have gotten to "clothing"
other than hand stitching a few designs on a trenchcoat.

ideally our inquisitor will look like that for next year though..

anywho, if you want me to make something for you, feel free to PM me, we can discuss it in private, but i will say publicly that if it's a clear iconic 40k weapon for example, i would not be able to make it for you with transactions involving money.
gimme a PM though.

I've been toying with building an Inquisitor getup recently, I just need a good design to work with. I'm definitely going to go Hereticus just for the hats, but other than that I'll need to brainstorm whether or not I want to put a waist in a trenchcoat again...

I am without any pictures because my memory card was literally burned alive, otherwise I'd have some images of other stuff I have built for costuming/cosplay/haloween.
Gaming related, the only thing I can think of is I made a Magnus the Warlord costume from Warmachine which is for this Haloween.

Other than that my work has all been Video Game (Army of Two, TF2, The World Ends with You) and Anime (Mugen from Samurai Champloo, Death the Kid from SoulEater, and maybe for haloween Spiro and Mizah from Baccano!) related.

I did offhandedly mention the possibility of building a life sized version of Sorscha from Warmachine using a mannequin for my LGS (quote: "So we can be the first store without a pressganger to be in No Quarter TWICE!").

I like building stuff, what can I say?
