45. Been gaming since '79, longer than the majority of the poll were born.

On this evidence I think this forum should have a Gentlemens Club where only us oldsters are allowed to post so that we may reminice about 'back in the day' and moan about 'the youngsters today' in peace...

That's the one! A place where we can talk about old battles, how dice in our day rolled how they were meant to, how you didn't need a hundred shades of blue and 10 different brushes to paint one Marine, how rules made sense then. Why I remember once...

13. Youngest so-far.

Cheese Elemental-Love does not bloom in 40k. Love burns. It gets turned inside out, set on fire, raped, shot with bolters, and beaten with a crowbar.

Do I qualify as an "oldster"? We can sit and reminisce about tanks on overwatch and vortex grenades and army leaders with 6 different saves...lol

41 here... and been playing 40k since Rogue Trader and before... a lil old box game called Space Marine. Been playing GW games since 1982... mainly started with Talisman, still own copies of Chainsaw Warrior, DungeonQuest... and a game I haven't seen in years, and wonder how many peeps even remember it... Tyranid Attack, it's a box game... kinda designed like Space Hulk, but pits Tyranids against Eldar aboard a Tyranid Hive ship.

Peace,
RennyD

Oh ya!! Vortex grenades rocked.. especially with your cameloline wearing assassin (who looked like an eldar guardian) walked up to that nasty farseer and *POP* no more farseer.. and back then if you lost your general in 40k it sucked... bad things happened. Also, when auto and assault cannons had a little thing called sustained fire.. sure they could jam, explode, and kill your model... but what firepower!! That was when you could REALLY take out an enemy squad with one model... and when a turn could take an hour or two, there were so many things you could do... overwatch almost killed the game IMO... at least the way it was written back then... ok they still sucked, but a 20 man squad of IG with lasguns on overwatch still gave ya shivers... they were more effective that way than when firing normally.

25,

Our whole group is around the same age as well (High School Friends and Klingon's - I am a pointy eared one).

Most of us have been playing for some time,
I think I started over ten years ago (but it's kinda a blur).
I remember that dreadnaught if that helps (Gosh, that was a LONG time ago)

The RT version were even more fun. A wandering pie plate destroying everything in its path...

Imagined instructions on the side of an RTVG:
1] Pull pin.
2] Throw towards enemy.
3] RUN AWAY!!!

Scarier thought... Tau + Networked Markerlights + Overwatch
