Good, it helps the hobby. With that said those under 13 year olds will grow up sooner or later into adults to hopefully be honest and good people to game against.
Of course there is the other kind that dont like the older Gen and harp about the older ones mooning over the good ol days. but sooner or later , they will be doing the same so...

I hope THAT was a joke Howlingmoon.

I just turned 16 and I do occasionally get annoying but that is more personality than anything

Most of my friends are really good to play with and those that arent, again he is just a bit like that (hope he doesn't read this) but usually ok.

Usually we are pretty cool with most stuff. We mostly play amongst ourselves but there is a teacher at school that kinda got us into it as well as another who does Fantasy. They are obviously OK with us!

I have played some of the Under 13's though, and one ended up making a 750 point SM list in a Combat Patrol game due to noobyness and still lost so that is kinda annoying. Nothing against younger gamers if they know what they are doing and aren't too annoying. Same goes with older people too.

i'm 13, i dont mind young 'uns as long as they're not annoying or cocky and feel the urge to break anything and everything they come into contact with. i dont mind the eager noobs, as long as they dont trash my minis or chuck tantrums when they lose.

I'm 14, but I am told I am mature for my age. Honestly, I find more young adults(17-20) annoying than kids my own age group. It really just depends on the person. As long as they aren't supremely annoying, I don't really care what age group I play with.

Im 15 and I play quite a few adults and people my own age and younger and they all respect me. I understand the rules well enough and my Ork army is well painted. I do understand that some younger people can get a bit over-exited but in the end we all do.

I agree, that can be rather annoying. I have to paint all my minis before I get new ones and I have to keep up a high standard of work at school, get at least c's or higher in my tests and GCSE's next year. Also I have to make sure I get all my homework done before the end of the week, and this is all fo £5 a week, hard work

I work hard for my gaming/painting money. I consider myself a very un-annoying teen and can't stand the way a lot of kids act when they lose these days. I've only played 2 games in a GW store. First time it was against a 17-year-old, he beat me and was a good sport about it. Second time it was against a 12-year-old. I beat him and he threw a total tantrum. Literally. He sat there and told me I had cheated and that he saw me bump the table to get better dice rolls the whole time.

Overall, I haven't had enough experience with young people to make a good analysis. I'm 14, but have been told I act like I'm 16-17 (in a good way).

Overall, I really don't care what age the person is, as long as they're a good sport.

I was 12 when I started warhammer so I do agree that younger people bring a great deal of enthusiasm and energy to the game.

Not all kids are bad, most that I have dealt with at GW stores have been alright and were eager to learn the hobby.

However I can't stand those little brats who break things and throw tantrums when they lose. Some parents really should teach their kids to behave.

When I play kids my age and younger (15) I find a lot of times they don't understand the rules and have 2 captains and a unit and a one man big shoota squad.
But, I've played some annoying adults two, so I don't think people should generalize.

I'm 15 and most of the people at my GW are aabout my age up to a few in their mid thirties. We all get on well , but the new organisation of the GW (cancelled sunday evening gaming, replace with all day gaming, much less specific, so less chance of there being someone else there, and newbies on a saturday when we all used to go in.)

Now we all go to the FLGS up the road and the GW waived the old 11 yeard old min age. To be fair, its all down to a change in manager

I was close to voting for good, but dropped it down to the next one, maybe because I have 2 little ones at home and my patience has been tested before I even make it to the gaming store. I think there is a maturity level that comes with age, but it can also be taught. I also know "adults" that conduct themselves in a very immature way. So I don't think age is the deciding factor in determining annoyance.

I think with any game, skill, or knowledge you need to have a level of patience in order to interact or teach another person, young or old.

So with that in mind, I think the hobby needs younger people to keep it going. If you cut out the young then the demand will decrease and then the supply soon after.

But, I've played some annoying adults two, so I don't think people should generalize.

I've seen two cases of this.

I played a game against a guy at my FLGS once. He was younger than me and TBH i dont think he had long started high school. It was my dwarves vs his lizzies. He had a unit of cold one cav, 3 of saurus warriors and a chief, i think he had something else as well. I formed a gunline while he hid all his units except his cold ones in a forest. I advanced my CC troops forward. By the 2nd turn it was clear he wasnt going to move any of his units except the cold ones. I aimed all my guns at them and obliterated them. He still refused to move his units. By the time i'd got within charge range it was time for me to go. We'd hardly played! Waste of a Sunday Evening!

The other one was a 40K game, eldar vs SM. My opponent was a young gamer who clearly didn't know the rules. He brough on 2 units of termies and a venerable dread. He knew none of the rules, and i mean none. He argued with everything!! I asked him if he had read the rulebook, he said no. I didnt want to just stop playing but fortunatley his parents came to pick him up soon after. I advised him to buy a rule book and some troops and HQs but he took it the wrong way and didnt look too happy.

Well, being 15, my opinion may be biased, but I think that as long as they can challenge me, hold an intelligent conversation, display a semblance of respect, and just have fun, I'm fine with playing anyone.

Now, speaking from the younger half, we aren't all off-the-wall ADHD ass-holes who have no level of respect for other people (though the numbers of them are growing alarmingly quickly) all we really need is a role-model, some respect, and maybe a little help (especially for those trying to get into the hobby). Try treating us like someone your own age and with your own level of maturity (minus the "adult humor" for the really young ones), you'll be surprised at how much we improve.

I'm not saying that you'll never find a gamer who you just want to maim so he can never speak/paint/play/damage your models ever again, I'm just saying that they aren't limited to being under 20.

If Warhammer has taught me anything, it is that anything and everything can be solved by violence.

I think its a myth that the numbers of disrespectful kids is growing. Its just that you are getting older as a person, and look back at people doing what you did. While you did it you didnt notice, but now that they do it its annoying.

I don't agree. Just by looking at myself as an example, I can clearly see why my grandparents' generation shook their heads at mine. I can also still (surprisingly, maybe) remember how my peers and I acted when we were kids, compared to kids today. There's no doubt that consecutive generations behave differently than the previous ones. It's called social evolution, and we'd still be warring with the neanderthals without it. (I.E. we need social evolution to be able to keep up with (and create new) technology, and an increasing amount of external stimuli.) The most likely reason why modern humans (Homo Sapiens) managed to drive the neanderthals extinct, was the human adolescent tendency to rebel (and thus sometimes innovating in "technology".)

The fact that more and more kids become disrespectful little brats (as opposed to just slightly rebellious offspring), is partly a result that since around the 60's-70's, teaching kids respect and discipline have almost become synonymous with child abuse. There are of course a ton of other reasons, among them being neo-capitalism (as introduced by Reagan and Thatcher), a Preussian educational system designed to mass produce factory workers, and the last I'll mention here is the first I mentioned; exposure to an overload of external stimuli way too early in their developing years. I can elaborate on each of these reasons, but I feel this post have been too long-winded already.

Added instead of making a new post:

Very very true. In the majority of cases "Output=Input", at least to a certain degree. I believe (and have no empirical evidence to support my next statement) that the reason many kids rebel is that they are treated like children, and so wants to prove they are not, so they (in most cases) behave even more like children. Like I said, I have no evidence to support that statement, but I feel it holds a certain degree of logic.

I'm 13, 14 in a few months time, and i think everyone is annoying at some time or other. I find it annoying when you get 11 year olds who know nothing about the game disagreeing with you about something or some smart-arse kid never shutting up about how great his marine army is.
kids add lots of things to games-workshop: better than video games and they continue the wargame, but kids are generally pretty annoying sometimes- i just deal with it

I am a young person (14 will be 15 in February) yes people can be annoying not just young people are annoying I've see adults that are less mature than I am.

Does it matter what age a person enjoys playing wargames? If young people dont start playing the hobby will eventually die out. At my FLGS when I started just this past summer they where happy to have some new blood there. They where glad to help me learn and give me tips on painting and other stuff. You can't criticize someone in there painting especially someone who just started if doing so is just stupid. Everyone gotta start some where why not start young.

I have nothing against kids under 13 that play wargames and are able to conduct themselves quietly and with reserve.

I have a problem with kids under 13 that play wargames and have no sense of maturity or respect for other peoples' property. I also have a problem with the parents that raised said child, as they were obviously too busy to teach their kids how to behave properly in public. So said child is left to toss minis around (theirs and others'), throw dice, and scream and wail when things don't go their way in a game while mommy puts as much distance between herself and "The nerd store" as possible without being charged with abandonment.
