All this new stuff is great!
I can't say I'm a fan of the painted slayer though. The head just looks huge and silly, and the pose isn't helping.

Yeah, the head could use a redo at some point. And I tried to repose one of the arms before he was painted, but I'll be damned if I can get the super glue bonds to break on this thing. Forget GW plastic and plastic glue, PP plastic and super glue forms an all but unbreakable bond!

I'm super psyched that this worked, because it was fairly risky to do. Starting at a specific point on the back, drilling all the way thru and hoping to come out on a specific point in the chest. Only missed the mark by about 1mm, which is quite acceptable to me. Running a single large green rod from the Monolith all the way thru, and presto, bit of a glow from the soul forge in his chest. The green plastic is somewhat fiber optic, and just putting some green in the chest would leave it dull and lifeless. Having it go clear thru his body will let the top end catch light and funnel it down to the chest. It won't be super noticeable, but it's a fun little detail.

An angle intended to show off the redone smoke stacks on his back. I don't care for the giant funnels he normally has, nor do I like the two differently styles pairs he has, so I redid them to again better match the standard Helljack style smoke stacks. Filled in the gaps with Brown Stuff as that will set up harder to give me a good base of support, then I'll do better blending in with Green Stuff. The top stack it the hole that goes clear thru to the chest, while the lower stack only goes into the central cavity. I may turn the lower pair of indents that normally mark where the second set of stacks go into a smaller set of side stacks like you see on the Helljacks. If I do those will also get drilled into the central cavity, letting as much light in as possible to filter out thru the chest. Brown Stuff takes a lot longer to cure, so this might be my last update for the night.

Got the smoke stacks all sculpted in. Not my best work, I do better with organic stuff I think than the start straight lines of something mechanical like this. The extreme close up camera shot doesn't make it look any better. I'm rather confident it will look much better after it's painted and viewed at normal table top level.
Also got some Skulls of Hate made up. I like `em, but I may do it over using what I learned from this first batch to make some better ones.

Symbol on his top plate's done. In fact I think his entire build is done and he just needs to be painted up now. After that I'll see about using the skulls I've made or making up new ones.

Got all my stuff painted and based, with the exception of the two Wreck Markers as I ran out of glue and couldn't finish them. First up is Iron Lich Asphyxious, pictured next to my older Epic version of him, then the three Machine Wraiths. After that are my Bane Thrall Officer, Standard, Leader, and a Grunt who is going to get promoted to be a second Leader after I buy another box of Thralls, followed by a shot of Bane Thrall Grunts, one of each pose.

And now that the small fry are out of the way, the big man himself, the Death Jack in full shiny golden glory. The new pair of Skulls of Hate came out really well. Got them much brighter and cleaner than the first pair. The engine stacks in the back do look much better painted. Overall I think losing the tiny horned head and giant funnel stacks makes him look less Death Jacky, but still came out really good, and after playing one game with him he's the Lich Lord's new BFF.

Lich Lord Venethrax In Progress. I didn't care for the "KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!" pose, so I've angled him more in a sword ready pose. Sculpting hands is still one of my weaker areas, but I think I'm getting better at it. Going to shallow out the grooves on the backs of his hands a bit because I think they're a bit too hard to distinguish from his fingers at the moment. And of course he still needs a new set of upper arms.

Redid the hands on Venethrax to try and improve them. I think I was able to do so rather well, if for no other reason than now you see less of them. Something I was also working on for Venethrax is a little warning of what will happen to your Warbeasts if they get too close to him. I normally don't do trophies or casualties on bases, but Venethrax is such a big F You to Legion that I felt it was warented.
Also working on making my Slayer into a Seether. Resculpted the shoulders so they look close enough to what they should, and reposed the arms and gave them their chain wrapping. Should be sufficient to designate his new status. I'm getting a few more heads in the same and similar style as what I gave Deathjack to give to all my `Jacks, and he'll get one of those when I get my hands on them.

Here's the main man himself painted up. I was hoping to have him completely painted and ready for his trophy head to get "dipped" today, so it would be all dry tomorrow, but I just realized I never brought my bright yellow and orange paint back from the FLGS after I used them to paint up some GW forests a few weeks back. Since I used a Carnifex head as the basis for the "random Legion beast" head I thought it would be fun to paint it up in my `Nid's color scheme. I'll have to remember to get those when I'm in for 40k night tonight and finish him up when I get home. Dry overnight, flock tomorrow at the FLGS when I'm in for Warmachine night, and I'll have the next pictures of the fully finished product up on Thursday.
P.S. What color would you do the "blood" from the Legion beast in? These Guys do a good job of showing off the color scheme for it to take that into account.

Picked up my fourth caster tonight, Goreshade the Bastard. I debated for awhile on if I wanted to behead him and give him the usual Necron head, but decided against it. I'll stick to just replacing skulls with Necron heads, though I did still give him a Necron spine to replace the backpack. Let him keep his little elven cape thing. Didn't get to paint him because of waiting for Green Stuff to set.
Also picked up a Warwitch Siren. Also no skull, and not even undead for that matter, so no Necron head here either. In fact she got zero conversion work, unless you count simply not adding bitz that I consider extra and superfluous. I think she has a better outline with out the random blades sticking out of her back and ponytail armor. She was however a pain in the arse to paint, as I don't do small detail well. I tend to stick with large broad paint styles, but she's just so tiny.
And lastly to round out the night, another little toolbox solo, and a Merc this time, Gorman the rogue alchemist. I decided that because he's a Merc I wanted him to stand out and look like the add-on he is to the army, and so made a point of painting him up to not match everyone else, using my full range of greens on hand and giving him a wash rather than drybrushing. He does get the one bronze shoulder pad though, so everyone knows who's currently writing his paychecks.

The Toxic Avengers? I need earplugs to look at him TBH the Bright green is way way too much I would simply either use a very light brown or a fairly dark brown (like dark Flesh) I think it will make him look more down to earth than something out of a Trama film

As promised, finished pictures. First up is Venny, or Anthrax, or whatever the PP boards decide will be the official unofficial nickname for Venethrax. It did not register with me just how big this guy was when I was working on just him, but finishing him while working on the others... Guy's a giant. He's gotta stand a good 10' tall easy. I put the finished Warwitch Siren next to him to show off how big he is and how small she is. Plus she's intended to work for him, as well as a second one when I get it.
Also finished up is Goreshade the Bastard, also posing with his token hottie sidekick. I attempted to paint the blade on his sword to mimic the green plastic effect on the other figs, and I think it came out alright. I waffled on what color to paint his little elf banner on his backside for awhile. Either clashing elf colors, or colors more matching to my army. I eventually decided to keep it blended. The mostly dead elf chick was a pain to paint, literally as my hand craps up trying to paint detail work like she requires. I actually broke out the washes and did some highlighting, because unlike the Siren she's got the details that deserve that extra effort.
Gorman was also finished up and given a flat coat to kill the shine from the dip, but he's on loan to a friend who needed a fully painted army for a Hardcore event and wasn't sure he'd have time to get his own done before tomorrow. I'll get a picture of him up probably when I get the trio of Helljacks I've got to work on now.

I decided I couldn't stand the silly little hands on the Slayer/future Seether anymore, and as long as I'm rebuilding the thing I figured I would rearm it, or at least rehand it. The inspiration was a smaller version of Deathjack's hand. After trying a few times to build fingers that I just never liked, I saw a part of a `Nid spiky bit I'd cut off working on my Tervigon, and thought hey, I could use that... Wait, no, the Trygon comes with a crap load of spiky bitz, I can use Those! Selected the ones I thought would work best, and presto, instant clawed hand that actually looks like it could grab and throw someone.
Given I have a tournament tomorrow, it's late tonight, so I'll sit on this prototype and unless for some reason I decide I hate it I'll work up it's mate as well as a second pair, and kick out a pair of Seethers.

Couldn't really think of any way I would do the claw better, so I kicked out the other three, threw them on the Seethers, and wrapped some chains around them. Since the new claws are about looking like they're actually usable hands, I went ahead and had the new one holding something, in this case the head from a Cryx Helljack. I've got some Menoth and Retribution Jack head as well, but I want the Menoth ones for a future terrain peice I've got planned, and the Ret heads aren't as recognizable as being heads, so I stuck with a Cryx one. It's going to look different from all of mine, and be painted in the standard color scheme, so it will still stand out, and will amuse me.
I did decide that I didn't like the shoulders I had made after seeing a Seether in person. Mine were just too big and bubbly, but I've got a better feel for how they're shaped now, so I'm going to give it another shot next.

The plastic Seether upgrades are all painted up and finished. Well, with the minor exception of not having a head that is... I know the perfect bitz I want to get for the heads, and getting a hold of some is being a bit slow. Same style heads as what's on the Deathjack. I think the improved claws really work out and look quite natural. You might notice the black spots on the backs of the shoulders in the one where you see the rear view. Those are spots where spikes are supposed to go in the actual Seether shoulders, and I was going to put some green rods in there to fill that role, but I did not like the way they looked at all so I left them off. Still left the holes there though since that's in the originals so it will match up more. Plus they add character.

I'm not sure if you've already explained this, but since I couldn't find anything...How exactly did you melt the green sprue? I was thinking of doing something with the stuff for my Venethrax's base. I assume you did it outside, what with the possible fumes and all.

I did it over the gas stove with the exhaust fan running is all. I'm sure I should probably have more protection than I do, but it's typically just small amounts, and only softening it enough to be pliable, not full on melt or burn.
