I would like an open topped skimmer so my harlequins don't have to wait a turn after disembarking... I mean c'mon if a big clunky terminator suit can move that fast out of a land raider, you'd think the agile space elf clowns could pull it off hopping off a ship and charging. Oh well... GW likes to sell terminators and land raiders so they just make them defy logic so everybody wants them. Us poor Eldar have to drop and wait.

Retroactively applied infallability is its own reward. I wish I knew this years ago.
I am Red/White Take The Magic Dual Colour Test - Beta today! Created with Rum and Monkey's Personality Test Generator.I'm both chaotic and orderly. I value my own principles, and am willing to go to extreme lengths to enforce them, often trampling on the very same principles in the process. Orkish Drop Pod. 40 pts. Destroys itself on deployment, Strength 3 hits on all orcs inside as it collapses from the force of the crash. At landing point, place crater. Drop pod can only carry Infantry units, up to 20 models. Does not "Mishap", but scatters 3d6 with no reduction of any sort. If it lands in difficult terrain, the orcs inside are considered pinned for this turn and take dangerous Terrain tests, and may begin acting as normal on your next turn. If it lands on any model, friend or foe, it is considered a strength 10 blast ap2 hit as the huge screaming chunk of metal lands amongst the crowd. If it would go off the board, reroll for drift. Drop pod cannot get a bullseye, it MUST drift.
Now to most armies this would probablky sound like a god awful, "why the hell would i want to run that?" Orks WANT to get into battle. They want to fight. They don't CARE about getting hurt. Imagine being able to drop a groups of 10 meganobz and a ghazghkull thraka in your enemies ranks "potentially" on turn 2? A great way to buy time, sure you are prolly gonna lose a few of whatever you put inside, but so what? Orks dont care? Maybe you'll squash some enemies, maybe some weaker allies, again, orks dont care. If Tyranids can shoot out balls of mucus for drop pods, how can you tell me orks can't have drop pods? Maybe its recovered drop pods from space marine kills. They may not have the technology, but they have lots and lots of metal, they could easily conceive a gigantic, metal enforced space marine drop pood, through their toughest inside and kick em out of the ship. Orks are a strong and hardy race, even without any form of engine they could prolly survive the impact.. some of them anyway...
The space marines looked on in horror, as the giant metallic hunk fell to the ground. Cheers from the orks in the distance suddenly magnified, and each marine could swear he heard a horrible gutteral voice scream "Waaaagh". The tide surged forward as the huge metallic object smashed through a rhino breaking its crew inside. The entire structure quivered and cracked and the walls fell. " One marine only a few feet away, walks up to the crater and peaks inside. Suddenly a monstrous hand with a power klaw punches up, seperating the man's head from his body.
The other marines looked on in horror, the green tide to their front and this new sight. 11 of the biggest orks they have ever seen, covered in head to toe with large metal plates rose out of the crater. Har har! They said Ghazghkull was crazy. I show them crazy! Lets krump some heads boyz! WAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"

REALLY not sure the Space Marines need any new units....
Chaos Space Marines:
Daemon Armour.
Terminator Armour corrupted by so many years in the warp it is possessed by daemons.
Infuses wearer with Str 8, and Armour save of 2+ (5+ Inv), plus ability to reroll unsaved wounds due to the daemon taking the wound instead of the wearer.
Initiative would be lowered to 1 due to the fact the wearer and daemon each battling to control the armour.
Would be able to wield Power Weapons as normal, but has option of wielding Daemon Prince sword (weapon like Abaddon's daemon sword), which would have +2 attacks (one for normal and one for daemon attack)
Points cost would be at 250 per model without daemon weapon. 280 points with daemon sword.

Forgot to mention, units in drop pods, held in reserve come in based on normal rules -1 on the dice, so turn two they come in on aturn 2 on a 3+, 3 a 2+ and 4 automatically, the reason for this is based on the fact that with no engines /lift/drag to speak of they scream through the air faster, which is why odds are the orks will be pinned or half dead as they exit, lol. Crashing through allies or enemies, though it happens, is still treated as dangerous terrain, and forces them to take further saves.
A Friend of mine pointed out that to solve the MUST drift rule. to make the 3d6 into 2d6+3 justto make it easier for people to use. And yea, i just kind of see it as a huge slightly oval shaped hunk of verious metal plates screaming through the air and crashing into the ground.

Ork Madboyz: Elite unit- troop option if a Wierdboy is taken as an HQ choice. 5-20 madboyz per unit. Regular statline as all non-HQ, unique or nob/gretchin related orks have. Furious Charge, Mob Rule, Waaagh! Special Rules. Sluggas and Choppas Standard 10 points a model. Optional Upgrades- Upgrade one to a Nob- +10 points +5 Big Choppa +25 Powerklaw Madboyz may replace their sluggas with- Noisemakers +3 per model Noisemakers-A unit of Madboyz with Noisemakers may during the shooting phase declare they are using Noisemakers rather than shoot. Any unit or vehicles during the next turn that attempt to shoot and draw LOS to the Madboyz must roll a D6 during the shooting phase. On a four or more, that unit must fire at the Madboyz regardless of range. Only one unit of Madboyz may take Noisemakers. Special Rule: Unpredictable- Roll a d6. Results of Roll: 1- He stole mah 'at!-One Madboy belives another stole his hat and a vicious fight ensues. Remove 1d6 models of Madboyz before deployment as casualties of this ruckus. 2- Forgot dah gunz- The Mad boyz (including the Nob) come equipped without any of their weapons or noisemakers, as they thought they were going to go to a feast rather than a battle. Remove all weapons and upgreades except for the Nob upgrade from the unit. 3- Frollikin'-Madboyz have wandered off somewhere. This unit of Madboyz starts in reserve. When their deployment roll result allows them to deploy, they may come out from any table edge as per Snikrot's rules for Ambush. 4- Especially energetic- These madboyz are really eager to get to the battle. During the assault phase, they may assault from 12" inches away rather than 6". 5- Pilfer'd Armur- The Madboyz have "liberated" some armor from an 'ard boyz squad from somewhere. This madboy unit has +4 armor save. 6- Dok's Spechal- A couple Madboyz found the Dok's tent and a special brew inside. These Madboyz are foaming at the mouth and incredibly insaner than usual. This unit has the Feel No Pain rule.

He carried the first machine out into the campyard, and a trio of grots clung on desperately trying to get their bony hands and rusty spanners under the chassis and remove key parts. Snotlings are smaller than orks, which makes them grots. It's all good.

"QFT Ork codex > Snotlings look like tiny immature Gretchin. Their scrawny limbs are too small to bear weapons larger or more complicated then sharp knives... " so close, but not quite either way its a fantastic idea

While we're on the Ork topic, I sadly miss the insanely goofy weapons from long ago (the hop-splat-gun?) and I very much miss MADBOYZ. Those were always so much fun to play with... the 2d6 chart for what hallucination they get each turn... As 40k got more streamlined and geared towards competetive rather than amusing games, they kind of got left behind. Those were the days. (jeez I sound old)

At best, I'm heroic and principled; at worst, I'm hypocritical and disorderly. |

An Ork Drop Pod? Hmm...sounds an awful lot like...Roks. Apparently most of the armies are getter a drop pod equivalent when they're re-released, in a similar vein to the tyranids.
Anyways, I think that orks really need some way to make Kommandos troops or a sniper unit.
