For Tyranids, instead of new units, I'd like them to split up all the good stuff from the Elite slots.

But, if only a new unit, then maybe some kind Jump Infantry with long range Melta weapons. (could be some kind of super Bio-Acid)

Eldar, I think someone already said it, but being able to assault out of Vehicles would be cool.

Necrons- Anything, at all.

Suffolk, where the Aliens roam.

For me.. I'd Give Beastmasters a skirmishing unit in Special that allows them to heard different beasts in battle. To represent those still training before they are allowed to guide Hydra onto the field.

It also ties into old Man O War fluff, where black Arks had all manner of beasties on board.

I'd probably have the unit allowing three to five Beastmaster Intiates, and then a number of beasts depending on the type the unit takes to the battle.

One to three Trolls.
Five to ten Dark Hounds.
Five to fifteen frenzied slaves.
Three to Five Black Tigers.

Not sure on points, but that sounds a lot of fun, and very in character for the army.

edit - In fact thinking on it, I think this has just given me the answer to what I am going to do with those River Trolls.

One unit you should be able to do??

For Space Marines and Chaos Space Marines:

PRIMARCHS or ancient heroes.
Red Thirst Marines for the Blood Angels. Those imprisoned in the Tower of Baal are released as an unstoppable force at the start of the game, sent into the fire of the enemy. No weapons on them save CC swords (chainswords) and only light armour.

For Eldar:
Exarch squad.
Squad of different Aspect Exarchs brought together as one unstoppable unit.

For Orks:
Da Hand of Gork and Da Hand of Mork
Two models that are possessed with the power of Gork and Mork. Monstrous orks even bigger than warbosses. Unable to carry shootas, but literally close combat monsters.

For Tyranids:
Can't think of anything new they need.

For Necrons:
Power of the Immortal.
Not so much a new unit as an upgrade for the Necron warriors from Immortals to Pariahs.
Using the power all weapons of the Necrons get to fire at Monolith power for one turn of shooting.
This power would only be usable once per game.

For Tau:
Close Combat Suit.
Mono blades in the arms, with fusion blasters in the wrists. Give the Tau some badly needed close combat ability.

For Dark Eldar:
Don't know, hate them anyway.

For Imperial Guard:
Advanced Combat Training.
Not a new unit but upgrade so that lasguns are more accurrately fired by troopers with the training. would confer a +1 to BS.

Oh HELL NO. With their orders (especially FRF,SRF) that would be completely unfair. Unless that at LEAST doubles the cost of a Guardsman I would never even consider that.

This is so un-eldar though... the over charged engine, eldar would never use a vehicle like that, and 14 AV, seems like you just want a land raider for the eldar.

I don't think the DE really need any new units. The ones they have range from okay to incredible. I'd just want one small change.

Give Executioners shields to go with their backup hand weapons.

It wouldn't even take a resculpt, just throw a sprue of warrior shields in with the box of 5. (Yes, I realize that will leave them one short. It will be close enough for rules sake, if not total WYSIWYG.) Just glue the shields onto their backs.

That way Executioners have an option - aside from die - when they get charged. Fighting HW+S gives them a decent armor save (3+) in CC, and they might just get to kill something first. It would definitely make them more an infantry unit, rather than a slow cavalry unit.

Brilliant!!! but why stop here. Give it to all four!!! or better yet to simplify things just add the following to each of the troop choice entries

Entire Squad may take Terminator armour for +15 points per model. If you choose this then Weapons are chosen from the following list :: Insert Terminator Weapon choices.

In my Fan-dex for the Tau they get Special weapon drones and all independent drone units are Jet-bikes

Eldar- Wraithlords primary weapons are a choice of D-cannons, Vibro Cannons, or Shadow Weaver. Barring this then Wave Serps get a better version of the grav shute rule where acrobatic/fleet units can choose to not fire but rather hit the ground running into assault.

A "proppa" ork battle tank.

Basically a "battle tank" ( w/ no transport ability) that bridges the gap between looted wagon and the battle wagon.

It could properly represent things like looted Leman Russ tanks or similar constructs of the orks themselves.

Allow it weapon options and upgrades similar to the BW so it could be kitted various ways as far as weaponry, etc.

Tau don't close combat, they shoot. Closest thing tau have to melee is kroot, which could use grenade options.

The current issue is being able to shoot things that are coming for tau at speeds of 13" to 24" rather than the slower speeds of 4th edition. They have fire"power" just not the volume necessary.

A tau unit that could be added very easily would be a failsafe drone. Same thing as the special wargear option in the book, only in a handy drone package.

SM: Nothing they really need, but I'd like to see:

Scout veterans that have BS4 WS4,A2, have bolt pistols standard and bolters standard, can take sniper rifles for free or Stalker Pattern boltguns or special ammunition for 5 points per model, and a LSS as dedicated transport.

Techmarine/MOTF Dreadnought. Conversion Beamer, and Blessing of the Ommnisiah that always works on a 3+.

Apothercaries that are fielded 1-3 per elite slots, like Saguinary Priests. Confers FNP, but not furious charge.

Necrons: The Obelisk, a smaller, Monolith-styled tank.

Not nessesarily new unit, but I would retool some of the units from the past editions of the game to update to 5th Edition.

Craftworld Eldar.

Commissar Training Squads, Penal Legions, different mounts then just regurgitated horses, Laviathans, Land Trains, etc.

Chaos specific chapters, LATD, and Demon additions to chaos vanilla marines.

Orky gits- Mad boyz, snotlings, khorn stormboyz, freeboota's, etc.

Remove compulsary choices, retool "elite" choices to include squads and platoons from different armies.

Vehicles and terrain for other armies besides the Imperium.

I used to think slayers should be skirmishers too, but now I kind of think all dwarfs are obsessed with structure even if they have a death wish. Although I would like to see slayers have runic tattoos that give them a ward save versus shooting.

I wouldn't mind seeing the dwarfs get some weapon that allows them to move and shoot or give all their units heavy armor.

Actually, I'm going to change mine.

I'd like to see every (relevant) 40K army get a support unit analagous to the techmarines, tech-priests, and medics that the Imperial human armies get. Naturally these should not be carbon copies, but analogues.

It makes no sense to me that none of the armies with superior technology to the backward human Imperium think to put soldiers who know how to fix stuff or do CPR on the field. Eldar need bonesingers that do something. Tau need something. They don't have to get field repairs, but there should be something.

In general I'd be totally happy to see more guys on the field who have missions other than "kill the other team". Combat Engineers or the equivalent.
