Generally I'm more of a punk guy, but there's significant crossover between crust punk and black metal.
I'm a fan of:
-Bathory (the originals)
-DARKTHRONE (love 'em. New stuff is actually very punk)
-Gorgoroth (interesting sound)
-Mayhem is decent, interesting back story to say the least
-Marduk (best BM band since Darkthrone IMO)
I also like viking metal like Bathory's later stuff and a lot of early death metal like Entombed/Nihilist.
If you like black metal, I'd suggest looking up Blackened Crust. Most obvious example of this is Darkthrone's latest, Circle the Wagons. Amebix is a great band that plays punk with a strong BM influence too.

This is one of my favorite "crossover" bands from way back in '85....

Yes, Yes it is, I actualy know The Pirates Charles they're fun and from what I can tell they may realy be pirates, I first met them 3 years ago at a Ren Fair in Palm Springs, they came, they sang, the ate all our encampments leftovers, they got kicked out for smugling in some Cat Island Girls (or maby just Rum this is where the storie gets a little confused ) and they even have a Fidle Wentch, she is scary good I haven't seen them in three years...I wounder why
