Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

Well, in regards to evidence that Intradictors don't produce a real gravity field. My evidence is that GE, and rebellion/new republic, ships don't get sucked towards the Intradictor. Logic then dictates 2 possable reasons for this, 1) there is just the illusion of a gravity field which deactivates a ships hyper drive by exploiting a loophole in the standard programming of the device, 2) SW ships are for some reason immune to the pull of gravity, but their hyperdrives still won't activate near one(as intradictors prevent entering hyperspace as well as causing a forced exit). the most likely scenario is #1.

As far as the Supierior intellegence of Tyranids. I think that most of us were referencing the Tyranid codex and/or Lexicanum(which in turn will tell you where the info was from). also Warriors of Ultramar demonstrates the immense ability of the Hive mind to react quickly to threats(This source was mentioned several times)

Lack of expierence(as i said earlier) is another reason why the GE is likely to lose. the GE has existed for a few decades and the Republic before it for only a thousand years. and only at the beginning and ending of that thousand years was there a standing army.

so from a Comparative perspective(GE to IoM) the GE has only begun to dabble in the art of war. The IoM is fighting for its very life and has done so for 10,000 years. Mankind as a species has been doing it for 30,000 years before that. and this is the people who are having very little luck driving back the Tyranids. the GE would require a miracle to do better.

lastly, Genestealers. the relative lack of Xenophobia in the GE will be taken advantage of by Genestealers. centuries before the Nid fleets arrive the Genestealers will spread throughout the Galaxy. Because the GE has faster galactic travel the Genestealers will spread all the quicker.the presense of Genestealer's might even be tolerated, untill everyone realizes what they are up to. Genestealer hybrids would certaintly be tolerated. Palpatine may prefer Humans as part of the army, but he isn't going to eradicate all non-humans like the IoM does.

IMO: once the actual threat posed by the genestealers is realized many, many planets will have fallen to them.

i am a fan of SW as much as the next guy, but i have to say that anything from SW will have it's postierior end handed to them and shoved down their gullet by anything in the 40K universe(Except prehaps the T'au, and its not because the T'au couldn't beat them in open battle)

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.
