I am headed out to FTW Games in Southside Richmond tonight to learn more about Firestorm Armada and maybe also Uncharted Seas. I'm excited that Catyrpelius is going to have Uncharted stuff at this event. Are you also playing it, Jin?

Not yet, but I'd been intending on getting into the game for quite a while now. I have the 1st Edition rulebook, it seems like a pretty straightforward and moderately elegant system.


Was gonna try to get a demo game with Catyrpelius at Warstore Weekend.

Jin, it just so happens, that NJ Gamer, the group I'm running the Malifaux event with at the Warstore Weekend, is putting on a last fleet standing mega battle, as well as demos.

Your more then welcome to use my Iron Dwarfs for the mega battle, there will be prizes.....

I'm going to be bringing several Uncharted Seas fleets with me to the Dakkacon, as well as Firestorm Armada, as well as many other games, so I can do some demos if there is intrest.

@Catyr - Sounds like fun. As of right now, I'm fulling intending on hitting up the Saturday of the Warstore Weekend so I'll definitely swing by the NJ Gamer area (been hearing too much about Malifaux to not give it a whirl too). Will probably end up picking up a Thaniras fleet there.

I'm holding a Malifaux tournement on saturday at 11. If you want I can plan on being there earlier on saturday to give you a quick demo so you can play in the tournement. Or if you can get there sometime on Friday...

NJ Gamer has been putting massive amounts of work into the terrain for the events we are sponsering, so it should be a good time.

Thaniras have some amazingly powerful cards, some of them scare me...

I may have to get a fleet or two painted up. I've been carrying the Firestorm Armada and Uncharted Seas games since they first came out, but haven't got my stuff painted up yet. This might get me going.)

They are great games, I'll probably be bringing my Iron Dwarfs, Imperial Navy, Dragon Lords, and if they release in time the Sky Pirates!

As far as Firestorm Armada goes, I probably wont have more then one fleet to bring, I'm getting ready for a 3 month Firestorm Armada Escalation Capaign that meens I should end up with over 2000 points...

Dude, I've been doing the same thing, only on Ebay. I was sorely tempted to get a pretty decent sized Ork fleet for about 36 bucks the other day but forgot about it until after it was over. Probably for the best, though, I shouldn't be tempting myself like this!

We're in it together, Vader! I haven't painted anything in 8 or 9 years, but I've already bought some paint and am getting ready to do a fantasy warband, blood bowl team, and BFG fleet for this

I still have around 1500 Orks to 100% finish up first! Those are my big priority atm, followed by my Lizardmen. If I can find the time after that, though, well that's a different story...

Got the Thaniras starter along with their card-set.

The 2nd edition rulebook was sold out, though. May have to try picking it up at the Warstore weekend if they've got them.

I am thinking Friday I will definitely be down with Salvage (dude, stay all week, it's cool with me!) Friday night I will be bringing Dominion and Chaos in the Old world, possibly with Mrs Wehrkind if she is down with some board game madness.

I could also throw together a little =][=munda madness game if people were interested (using my modified rules, and say a points limit per player for characters or something).
BFG sounds fun, and I have the starter box models around, but I don't know if I can get that AND my WoC lads ready to rock for 500 points games and a tourney. We shall see!

Caty - what's changed in the 2.0 rules?

Mainly Line of Sight and Range was reworked a bit, its much more consistant now. Other then that, they just updated and rewrote some confuseing bits. Its an infinatly better written book. They also show off previews of the infantry combat models.

After stopping in to Showcase for the first time last night, and seeing the things I saw, I have come to 2 conclusions:

A) I will be bringing Dark Eldar to Dakkacon (Can I preorder through your store? If I leave money around the wifey will find a way to spend it)

and B) You sir have a damn nice store, and I can't wait to see everyone there

@ Bane - did you get to check out the Battle Bunker?

It was closed, but I got to look in through the windows. Its loaded. Only thing is it isn't connected to the store, its a bit away from it actually. But worth the hike. All sorts of DIFFERENT tables. I always find stores with multiple tables to be similar, like all grass, or the same terrain. Not the case here. Bunker gets out of 5 from me
