Set 10,000 years after the current narrative setting, the final days of the imperium of man are fast approaching. The immortal god-emperor is dead, the golden throne having finaly failed. The power of Terra is broken - Imperial guard regiments reduced to fighting as mercernaries, space marines becoming independant warbands with no one to lay allegiance to. The ranks of the Chaos Space Marines have been greatly bolstered by loyalists who need desperately something to place their faith in. Many human worlds have been lost, either to infighting or to the sway of Chaos. In these dark places, Chaos Daemons walk the streets as commonly as a man might - such is the level of corruption afoot.

The enigmatic Eldar are all but passed from the universe. They have forged a desperate alliance with the tau Empire, so that they may yet stave off annihilation. Perverted Slaneshi cults and warbands roam the galaxy hunting eldar, to sacrifice them to their foul lord of excess. What Farseers survive, can no longer delve into the warp - the risk of annihilation is too great.

The dark ones of the city of Commoragh know their time is also coming to an end. Every day, the forces of Chaos probe deeper into the webway. It is only a matter of time until they are discovered, and have to emerge into the anarchy of realspace.

Worst of all, a deadly new enemy has arisen, bringing doom to all in it's wake. The vile Star gods have overwhelmed the Tyranid hive mind, and fused the bio-matter of their servants to their minions to create hideous new apparitions of steel and sinew. Some imperial guardsmen mercenaries have dubbed these ghouls as the "Tyranons", though no one knows their true name. Fearsome creatures such as Trygons have been enhanced into nightmarish Bio-Mechanical constructs, bent to the will of an evil master. What once was a natural force, has been
harvested into a force for evil.

Last but not least, the legendary Ghazkull Thrakka has found a way to cheat death. Culling his savage ork bloodlust, he has recognised that his race needs to be united, or it will be doomed. The largest Waggghh! ever recorded is his alone to command, and with the galaxy in such a state of disarray, it would take a monumental effort to stop the green juggernaut.

No-one will be able to explain how, or why, but from the outer edges of the galaxy an energy field forms, slowly enveloping everything from planets to ships. Races are forced to evacuate planets in order to prevent being caught up in its destructive wake as it consumes everything in its path- living or non living. Word of this spreads around the Galaxy, as no one can divinate its origin from the warp, nor derive its origins technically. Only two things are for certain - anything caught in it's path will be destroyed.

And the final destination of the field.. is Terra.


Nice story . Thats so cool, I wish there was a book or something like that. Whats the energy field thing? Maybe you could tie it into the sensei (the emperors children if you dont know). As they are supposed to have some of his powers and will bring the emperor back the second he dies so he can liberate chaos once more.
The final chapter of the Warhammer 40,000 universe is about to unfold.
