Nice Joske... did you line in the blue in the gaps? I'm just amazed at how crisp your white looks, mine never gets that good.

it has 5 layers of skull white with something like 3:1 water-paint blue in the gaps is an asurman blue wash after the first layer of paint no so hard after all.. just be patient that's the key to crisp white..

I usually do a skull white base coat, take some badab black to it, then use water-downed skull white in layers. Worked for my apothecary...

I think I actually used watered down chaos black with badab black on top of the white base coat for the apothecary.

no I'm not dead yet so a have a hard time getting al my schoolwork doen in time so..
but here is an update of something new and a little sterngaurd progress..
I was getting tired of painting (happens sometime..) so i started to scratchbuilding me a nice and unike captian for my chapter
he has a combat shield and a wep counts as power sword or thunder hammer..

use legs from a bike kit and tac squad kit, torso from tac squad and head also.. arms as well and backpack two.. banner is from a spare AOBR captain..

so what you think??

Interesting... the flail needs more than one chain though... 3 at least. Also you'd have to hold a weapon like that from the bottom on the handle or you'd never get it to swing properly.

I like him though... has got a lot of potential!

still very nice model and for the end of the 'flail', maybe some Lord of the rings inspiration (Look at the 'flail' thingie from the Witch king. the leader of the Nazgûl.)

@Gitts: I used my last piece of chain on this one so I will probably stick to one.. srr i like him like that actually and he's unique and that's the most important to me.. but thx btw

Naah, no sweat! I like it when people stick to their guns. I'm such a marshmallow I agree to damn near everything.

How about making some little plasticard or wire spikes and gluing them to the last two links? Would make it a little more flail-like and destructive looking.

The captain looks great nice idea with the chain. It would make more sence if he had a jumpack but everything else looks good

@moonshine: yeah i was thinking that too and it's ok with the points actually.. but he was already assembled and I don't have any spare jumppacks.. so but he fits perfect with my assault mariens you don't really notice he's not wearing a jumppack.. you can only look at the whirling chain..

I am painting him right now.. and the next battle ur crons will find their death on the ball-side of the flail I'm also thinkin' of new tactics so we'll HAVE to fight this vacation ther's no other way..
