So it has been a while.. first up: the captain 99% complete.. his banner needs to be done and he's finished second: the last sterngaurd started painting I finished 2 PC guys for my dev squad.. and I added a deathwind launcher to my pod.. I am you huge fan of the WYSIWYG rinciple.. I really dislike 'counts as' (although my captain is an exception to this ) I am trying to get a 2000pts armylist painted within 2 weeks so.. I still have to paint about 10 models.. mostly infantry.. tacticals and some scouts as well so what do you think? I really like how the white came out on the deathwind, I was afriad it would look blotchy C&C welcome

So i left this thread stranded for too long.. time to put an end to it
i got a bit of track with my thread but now, back to the point
here's my finished sterngaurd squad, wich i finished already months ago.. i have already fielded them abd on got blown up by his own combi plasme and an other one was killed by a scattering blast of my genious droppod.. both happend in the same turn.. splendid.. but they have already proven themselves worhty on other occasioins..
Joske Out.

Your ultramarines could do with a slight highight on the blue parts to makes em stand out a bit more not that im critizising anyone .
Dont get me wrong it looks great but the blue needs more highlights.

well it('s not very hard if i have time i will make tutorial of it but here's some info you can use:
1 drill three or more holes in your tank hull make shure you have 1 big one surounded by smaller ones
2 (hard one) look for some spare sprue and light it up until the top is melted (melta ) dab the melted plastic over the sides of the holes you had drilled (do this in a wel ventilated room and blablabla)
3 let it harden for a couple of hours
4 keep doing this until you have the desired effect
5 painting: start with red gore to blood red to blazing orange and at last a tiny bit of sunburst yellow
Hmmmmmmmmm nothing like adding real melted stuff and starting fires to add to the overall effect of the Rhino. Awesome and thanks for that description. I have more then enough spare sprues and plenty of lighters! To make it easier, wouldn't a less "sturdy" plastic work. Because the sprues are kinda thick and dense. I was thinking maybe something along the lines of plastic wrap or maybe cut strips from a coke bottle and let those drip. IMO they are thinner and thus easier to melt/work with. I'm DEFINITELY not talking ish about your battle damage because it's more then realistic and impressive, but what are you thoughts on using a thinner type of plastic? Automatically Appended Next Post: PS i need to compliment myself on the FAIL when it came to quoting you

well.. about the thinner plastic I would say : Why the h*ll not? it never came up in my mind bcause the sprue melts qiute easy and it's another path to walk for the sprue instead of the usual "path of garbage" ^^ but you should try out the thinner plastic if you want.. but it might burn up before you can actually use the melted plastic.. thinner plastic means it melts faster but it also hardens faster and burns up faster.. but it's worth the try thx f comments and adds ^^
