Very nice work Joske. Nice contrast between the blue and white & your whites are really crisp. Weathering on the rhino is great too! Nice extra painted on details... what's not to like? Did you do the caution striping on all 5 doors?? There's therapy for that...
Congrats on the silver! Your models are sure deserving of recognition.

FM Ninja 048 wrote:How did you do that melta(?) damage, looks really melted
well it('s not very hard if i have time i will make tutorial of it but here's some info you can use:
1 drill three or more holes in your tank hull make shure you have 1 big one surounded by smaller ones
2 (hard one) look for some spare sprue and light it up until the top is melted (melta ) dab the melted plastic over the sides of the holes you had drilled (do this in a wel ventilated room and blablabla)
3 let it harden for a couple of hours
4 keep doing this until you have the desired effect
5 painting: start with red gore to blood red to blazing orange and at last a tiny bit of sunburst yellow
i will post new paintin' this evening keep watching
Automatically Appended Next Post: ther's something wicked evolving on my desk so the pics will have to wait a bit longer but they are worth waitin'

so finally the long expected update..
first this: when i was paiting the sergeant i thought "hey they need some transport.." so the result was easy.. a rihno..
but later i thought hey what if i need them in some special transport for special circumstances.. so i got me a droppod..
a few days ago i thought again what if.. what if they need an extreme personal transport?? for some real mean situations like veterans are likely to be in..
The result is shown below..
oyeah if you are looking carefully i can spot the final highlights doen on the second squad memeber
enjoy + comments??

I like the two marines you have done and I was glad to see you win a prize for the first one. In addition to the other comments on the painting might I humbly suggest that the blue lining on the helmet might have been better done with a wash and the neatened up with another layer of skull white. The laurel is nicely done and I agree that the lenses etc are also well painted. I take it you are quite young as you mentioned school and that the winner of the painting competition was 18 which means you are well ahead of many veteran gamers and painters with plenty of time to hone your skills yet! nice vehicles too, for the transfers i find that a light dry brushing in the under colour and then painting over the transfer in the same colour (ie white in your case) takes away the shininess and makes it look more like you painted it, any major cockups just cover with "weathering".
Keep going they look great so far!

Big thumbs up on the weathered bottom... Really liking the scratched iron and dirt effect!

@reaper man: i'm 17 I am painting since i was 10 years old so i'm in the busines for quite some time
the blue was done with a heavy wash of asurman blue but due to lights and autoajustment of dakka it looks way darker then in reallity..
for the transfers i have gor my own recept so dont woory about them, i just couldn't wait until the decal was completly dry to tak epics and upload them
so progress update: the third and fourth marine are inbound to join the squad, i really like them the most, they are the two sweetest models of the sterngaurd kit. But i got a question for you 40K Vets i want to enlarge my squad up to 10 models but i'm not going to buy a second sterngaurd box set like this one.. are there other sterngaurd sets? if there are be kind enough to place a link below.. THX

GW doesn't have 'another set' for as far as I know and see on their website. Yet many other veteran's can be bought seperatly

I like it. Though I'm not sure about the colored studs on the shoulder pad... may just be the photograph. The color appears to be bleeding out into the pad. You might be better off just making the pad & studs a solid white with a touch of pale wash under each one, or perhaps making it slightly off-white with a pure white highlight on each stud.
