No no, Just meant that since you worked on those Skeletons I wondered if you'd get any of the new TK stuff Guess I got my answer!

The skellies i painted a while back were actually from my VC army, i have about 2k of TK in various states of disrepair so ive had fun stripping and re-painting them!

As soon as i get a bit of spare cash i will be preordering.... lots....

Sorry ive been away for so long!

Not done too much on the modelling front but ive fiogured out where i want to go with the army. I will be using Codex: Grey Knights, as i originally planned, as its just too much of a good fit not too. Unit wise ill probably have:

- Coteaz (Using my Head Tech Magos guy)

- Henchmen of various flavour (Hypaspists as grunts, Preatorian Servitors as Jokaero, Servitors as..well...servitors , Crusaders [as below...], Velites, using the tall guys i have, with a warp jump pack, as Death Cult Assassins, Electro Priests as the Psyker Henchmen)

- Tech Marine

- Storm Raven (using my RG one for the mo)

- Dreadknight (Knight Titan made form the Dreadknight kit with greatsword [chainsword], gatling psilencer [chin/nose mounted HBs] and heavy psycannon [battlecannon]

- Dreadnought? (Myrmidon Assault engine or Cataphract pattern Robot with 2x TL psyammo ACs)

May also use Raven Guard as GKs and Elysians as further Henchmen, depending on whether i want to keep it pure AdMech or take it in the direction of a campaign force. Which leads me nicely onto.....

Should i put my Elysian and Raven Guard updates into this thread, renaming it to something like 'The Ecclectic Imperium'? Dont know how bothered i can be to start another thread and i want to keep this one moving. Let me know your thoughts.

And finally, the modelling update. This is the Mk. IX-B "Protector" pattern Automaton, to be used as a Crusader Henchman. It will have a robotic sword arm, and an arm attatched to the shield. The shield has a built in force shield generator, and contains optics, negating the need for a head on the automaton and circumnavegating the issue of not seeing past the large shield

Wow! It's been a while since I've been back- I like the Automaton shield and body- Terminator torso?? You must have a hardcore bitz box, man.

That Hypasist Tribune figure- is that an actual one? Or a kitbash? I want to lean towards kitbash and GS- if so, what'd you use?

And finally, what's this about Tomb Kings...? If that wasn't a fleeting fancy, pics please!

Yeah, i dont throw anything away so its fairly extensive. Couple that with the fact that i make very un-economical conversions (like making a lightning from a Valk but only using 1/4 of the kit!) and it all adds up

Its a DKK Quatermaster with an elysian shotgun, with a GS hood.

I will probably put them in a different thread, soon, but here's a teaser, there is actually a hawk turquoise to deep blue fade on the shield, couldnt catch it v. well. Pics will be up later, once i upload them, stupid slow internet...

Thanks! It's good to be back- this MBA is murder. Managerial Econ and Accounting for Mgmt in the same quarter... I just content myself to see people create on Dakka^2 while I slave away at numbers I doubt I'll ever truly understand... much like a Mechanicum Acolyte... (lol... HERESY!! )

I'm much the same because the kits are so expensive. I'll review my bitz from time to time, and remove sprue or whatnot when I find something better for the space usage... right now I've got random junk, a big ol' pile of 'nid bits, and starting an Eldar bits too... slowly but surely.

Also down the line will be a Mass Effect Turian (Tau-Kroot) kill-team... that may spawn an entire Alliance army....

TK skeleton looks good! I suspect the blue/turqoise range will be much more clear in sharper, less natural light. (or more light?) It looks good- Is that rip in the shield part of the model detail? If so, any plan for the color under the blue?

Check out the game- MERCS Minis, CCC aka Yellow Jackets are the ones you've probably seen, KemVar are something... Splinter Cell meets Predator... They look good and the quality is excellent for a smaller company.

Oh... so that explains the Tribune's... monotone... color... Sorry. LOL... I'll be looking forward to the colored product, then!

Nice! The shotgun really looks good with him. Looking forward to seeing this guy painted. Seems to be one of those models that paints itself once the bone detail is done. And I will do something with the casualty, just got so so much to do Sir. I will get round to using him Its a pity they don't sell the quartermaster on his own as I like him but not really keen on the rest of the figures. Don't get me wrong, I LIKE the figures just not really excited about them and they are the reason its £25+ when the quartermaster would be like £11 on his own.

@Izanagi: Yeah, you can definitely see it better irl, shield is wip, there is wood in the rip, not sure what colour to paint the hanging fabric?

@dantay_xv: Cheers! It does look similar i agree, main difference is that he kept the horrible tail and dread thingy (imo), whereas i made mine enclosed like a Lander or something

Name pronounced REG-NAK. Its the name of the main character from my favorite book... "LEGEND" by the mighty David Gemmell. Amazing book. I've read it so many times but never get bored of it. Great characters and story. If you haven't read it before then go out and get it!

I thought so, just wanted to make sure I will have to look at that now, as if i didnt have enough to do already!

I was actually counting on maybe glossing over the Elysians and focusing on the Raven Guard... but I actually like both- the Elysian trooper and the car for the realistic look, and like everyone else, the Storm Raven's weathering!

Speaking of which- what do you use for the weathering? Do you use powders? Paint? Or combination thereof?

Keep turning them out- any chance to see any Raven Guard troops? A secret Corax conversion, perhaps??

@Izanagi: Lol, sorry to disappoint Thankyou, personally for IG i think it pays for them to be as realistic and "human" as possible, it just makes all the myriad terrors of the galaxy that bit scarier! As for thje weathering, FW powders and Grey_Death's chipping method, with washes and drybrushes thrown in for good measure. I tend to save the powders for the vehicles, otherwise it gets a bit messy

Im waiting for Hits_the_Spot's TS marine kit to be available before i proceed (you can see the progress so far here http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/306818.page) to further increase the disparity between Imperial forces, ie SMs against IG. That said, i do have some Scouts i could paint or a TH/SS Vanguard squad that wouldnt look out of place! I'll give you a choice of what you want to see first!

Also made a concept model for an electro-priest. Extremely fiddly GS work over a Ghoul Will show that when its painted as its a bit hard to make out the different components atm.
