Thanks! I hope to post some more stuff soon If the weather holds up this weekend I might get some well-lit full army shots! There's always more to paint, but I figure it won't hurt to do a photoshoot now and then.

Well, I've had a container full of Simple Green and something's been soaking in it for about three months now:

Oh, so it's a Predator! Worst part was that I had to put it back in afterward, as that was only the top layer of paint you see wrinkled there! I've got a sister tank for it as well, and it's under paint just as thick. No clue when these guys'll find their way into my army, but they will someday!

Haha! Yeah... sure you don't want to play Nurgle?

Good luck on stripping it. I had some old vets soaking in Simple Green for a week... but they only had a couple layers on the, and that slipped right off with the coaxing of a toothbrush.

Hopefully I'll be able to scrub off the next layer of paint this week! I wanted to take some whole army shots this weekend but it was cloudy and dreary so I couldn't get good lighting.

Well, that Predator's sister tank actually served me pretty damn well in my game on Thursday! Unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to scrubbing it. I did manage to do some priming, and started my next two vehicles:

I keep meaning to do a whole army shot, but I'm waiting on a nice sunny day where I'm not working! The weekend after this one I should be able to get a nice big full army shot.

Loving the Predator and also the Techmarine with the Rapier! The rest of the army is really well painted as well

Be sure to give the Predator one of those wacky old school camo patterns. Lemme see if I can't dig one of them up, they were sweet haha

Kind Regards,

I've actually got a White Dwarf with camo patterns for a bunch of old Land Raiders, so who knows! Most of my tanks are blue so I don't know, but it would be fun if my Predators were in camo.

Just showing some progress on my Ironclad:

The icons on his shoulders are taken from the GW Crimson/Imperial Fist icon pack, but they were initially too big so I snipped off the gauntlet part. I think just the fist works well enough!

lol i know how you feel... i got a mk1 or mk2 vindicator (with metal parts) with paint so thick that after 3 LONG dettol baths, it still has paint on it...
it was in horrible condition when i got it from ebay, hoping i could save it, but im starting to give up... the person who glued it together must have mistaken glue for paint for atleast the fist 3 layers

There's a certain sense of accomplishment when you successfully recover an old beat up model, so I know what you mean! I'm going back to my parents' place for Easter weekend, so expect some updates when I get back next week!

Give their armour an asurmen blue wash (or whatever the new equivalent is). It will help, certainly does with mine...

I tried Asurmen Blue wash over them some time ago and it didn't do very much, as I'm already using a very dark blue. I wash all my models with Badab Black.

Well, the army has been four years in the making! Since starting this army I've also done IG, Orks, Chaos Marines, a brief flirtation with Fantasy and Warriors of Chaos, and everything over again. It's fun to have multiple projects going on at once so you don't get bored of any of them!

I actually have a fairly crappy camera; it's all about the light! It was a really sunny day so I just opened the window wide, pulled up the blinds and curtains, and turned on every light in my tiny, tiny apartment! Right now I'm using a Nikon Coolpix from like 7 years ago that somehow still works. I also used the macro setting when I got up close. Thank you so much for the compliments!

I've got a 4mp camera - it's a Coolpix 4100 from 2004! It's all about lighting

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So I wrapped up my second Razorback, and I took a few more pictures of my Ironclad for good measure!
