A crackle comes through the vox, anyone not in the Skullscreamer legion would swear that it was a loyalist. But to all intents and purposes the Skullscreamers were loyalists. They just diddnt agree with how the empire was run. And the image of the Emperor had been perverted beyond belief. They also believed wholeheartedly that the Emperor was Dead.
{We can provide assistance, harbingers inbound}
All around the ghosts heavy impacts could be heard Harbingers dropping from high altitude craft and plummetting to the surface only to slow down to acceptable speeds seconds before landing. They dove into cover. Plasma bolters chewing lines through the tau advances. One of the Harbingers crawled up next to Terram.
"We can get to the Broadsides but you will need to deal with the infantry. Can you do that?"

Decided to finally post something, sorry about the lack of activity.
Monat'nan watched from his hidden position in the ruins. The vast majority of the Skull Screamers forces were moving to engage the Frema sept, the feint had worked perfectly. He would have to congratulate Shas'o Ulgala when he returned to base for executeing such a brilliant tactical maneuver. While the Frema sept's forces were engageing the Skull Screamers head on, a small strike force from the Bap'Cal'Da sept would be sent to wreck havoc upon the enemy's base. Ulgala really knew how to use his forces effectively, the Frema sept was well known for boasting some of the greatest firepower in the whole of the Fire Caste, where as the Bap'Cal'Da were far more suited to missions of infiltration and stealth, truely a brilliant tactician that Ulgala. The force was split up into three teams, each team was made up of two pathfinder units six strong, and one unit of 6 stealth suits. Each had its own objective. Team 1 was to move in and take the enemy's fuel depot and ammo supplies. Team 2 was to enter and take the enemy's commuinication array as well as several AA emplacements. And lastly team three, which Monat'nan was assigned to, would go deep into the enemy base and destroy some form of shield generator, which was preventing their drop ships and crisis suits from landing. Once all of the objectives were achieved, they would overwhelm the enemy base and best their foes. Monat'nan shifted his position to get a look at the main entrance to the base. Only two guards stood watch at the entrance, the Skull Screamers left few men to defend their base it seemed. He ordered his La'rua to take them out, V'lor and D'kierten fired their markers, and Kau'kais and Sri'shan followed soon after with their rail rifles. The guards were both vaporized from the shoulder up, collapsing to the ground with little more than a quiet thump. Monat'nan gave the all clear and the stealth suits began their advance towards the entrance. Once they had made it safely inside, the pathfinders made their own move into the base, they then divided up and headed out towards their objectives. Monat'nan gazed at the Skull Screamers base, it was mostly ruins, but occasionally out of the depry rose a strange structure that seemed to be constructed of bone. It was hard to tell one from the other, they seemed to be obscured by some sort of mist that seemed to appear and vanish at will. Monat'nan found the base unsettleing, and urged his team forward, lest something be hiding in that mist. The plan was going well, very well in fact, and Monat'nan was proud to be a part of it.

dont worry about it
but you cant wipe them out THAT easy
Out of the gloom come several astartes sized warriors, each holding a long wickedly curved sword and a large shield made from some sort of plymer that represented the hide of a terran Dragon. The rail rifles of the tau fired in volleys but the silent warriors caught the shots on thier shields. The shots seemed to go straight through the shields but into a plane of existance not of the norm or the warp.

Things don't go smooth! WHY DON'T THEY EVER GO SMOOTH!!!
Monat'nan was suprised to find he and his team were being attacked. The warriors seemed to had formed from the mist itself, Monat'nan had never seen such a thing before in his life, and growing up on a death world, he had seen a lot. His teams fire was doing nothing, even with the aid of the marker lights, their shots seemed to be sucked into those strange shield that the Skull Screamers carried. If they didn't act fast, they would be butchered by these seemingly invincible warriors. Monat'nan gave the order to scatter, and even though he was not in command, the order was obeyed, the Shas'vre in command knew it was the right thing to do. The Tau sprinted of into the ruins, heading in every direction they could. The idea behind the scatter order was to force the enemy to either pursue one indvidual, or to divide up and pursue them all in smaller groups. If excuted right, the Tau would lose their pursuers and regroup at a specified location. This maneuver was invented by the Bap'Cal'Da, and few other septs attempted it, none of them were able to match the quickness and natural sense of direction that the Bap'Cal'Da prided themselves on, which was nescasary to perform the maneuver. He did not enjoy giving the order, it ment that he had to seperate himself from his La'rua, a fact that did not sit well with him. But it had to be done, if it wasn't they would all die for sure, and so he ran. Monat'nan ran for a good 10 minutes before glanceing breifly back to see if he was being pursued. There were two of the warriors chaseing him, and Monat'nan was impressed by how easily they made their way through the ruins. They seemed to move straight through the rubble, totally unimpeded by it, but their gait was slow, and they could not keep up with Monat'nan for long. Still he quickened his pace so that he could lose his pursuers faster, the sooner he got back to his team the better. After another 5 minutes or so of running for is life, the Skull Screamers seemed to had given up, he ran for a good while longer just in case. Monat'nan hide inside an abondoned shack, and awaited for a signal as to where he had to go to link up with his team. Dispite the fact that he had been running for a good 15 or so minutes, Monat'nan was not tired, in fact that run had got his heart going, and he felt like he could run for at least another hour before tireing. The air inside the shack felt cold, far colder than the air outside, especialy around his feet, as if he was standing in snow. Looking down he saw a mist was gathered around his feet, the same mist that had gathered around those buildings. Monat'nan lept forward and rolled across the floor, bringing his pulse carbine up and aiming at where he had just been standing. The mist was beginning to form a shape, it looked humanoid, and very large as well. Monat'nan fired several shots of into the mist, yet all they did was move right through it and out the other side. It began to take a more difinative form, he regonized it as the shape of an Astartes, and yet it stiill barely seemed to exist at all, as if it were jus some phantom visiting from another realm. The thing took two steps forward and graped Monat'nan by the neck and hoisted him up into the air. It had remarkable strength, and its grip seemed to burn his throat as it held him. And then Monat'nan felt his energy being sucked from him, drained of his life slowly, and painfully. If it held him like this much longer he would die, he was sure of that, so he raised his carbine and fired full auto into the creatures face. Most of the shots just went through it, but some seemed to connect with something solid, and the creature relinquished its grip to clutch at its face. Monat'nan fell to the ground and imediatly rolled backwards and fired more shots into the creature, hopeing to do something to it. The thing began to fade back into mist, and was eventually gone entirely, not even the mist remained. Monat'nan was not sure of ot was dead or not, but he was not staying to find out. He removed his carbine's power pack and replaced it with a new one, then left the shack as quickly as he could. Once outside, he recieved a transmission from his team commander, telling him to meet with the rest them in an old manufacturm warehouse. He didn't need to tell him where it was, he already knew. He had seen it when he was fighting with his team, and based on the direction he had fled, and the distance he had travelled, he knew which way to go and how long it would take. He set off, but at a significantly slower pace then he would normally travel. Not only because of the snow storm that had picked up in the last few minutes, but also because of what that thing had done to him. It felt like he was missing part of himself, like something inside of him was gone and he would never get it back. Monat'nan dismissed the thought from his mind he needed to focus on getting back to his team, or else he would perish here, in these ruins.
Wow, I think perhaps I should keep it a little shorter next time, just a little though.

The tau have suffered losses. Some of them got ringed in by the slow but steady warriors. Something about them was just terrifying and the Tau hadnt even been able to lift a weapon against the Nigh unkillable warriors in close quarters. You reported what had happened to you and your Lau'rua look alarmed. Whoever it was, was a definite threat and had to be stopped.
Your little party is broken up when you hear the slow tread of the tireless warriors. The Lau'rua evacuates, the cant fight against such warriors. They had failed in thier mission.
*(Looking good eagle squad members then ready)

With the options that you have, all you could be is either a Shas'la or a Shas'ui, Shas'ui being the higher rank of course. You'd also get to choose to be either a fire warrior or a pathfinder, or a kroot, or a vespid even (If you want to be totally useless).

Terry fires of a couple of bursts of smoke and then turns tail to follow you. The rhino that was pelting you with flame grenades suddenly opens its top hatch and two Astartes appear one holding a long tube the other fiddling with some kind of ammunition.

The high explosive shells dont even dent the armour and some dont even seem to hit the target as they pass through the incorporeal target, however when the Astartes atop the rhino fire the munition fired from the weapon kicks up a massive drift of snow and the shockwave knocks you flat.

Brother keith feel to his knee's clutching his chest his last words were
"Avenge me brothers" as the last round burst through his head. The Deathwatch let out a bloodthirsty roar at the loss of a brother, Their jump packs roared as they leaped into the air yelling and shouting curses at the snipers. They saw the heretics run they were just traitor scouts from the dark angels Sam and his squad crashed down on one of the scouts head crush it. The other scouts turned and grabbed their blades and ran at the assault squad but it was no good the deathwatch crushed organs, bone and hope. Sam grabbed a scout by the throat and lifted him
"BURN HERETIC" Sam yelled as he shuved his hand flamer it in the scouts mouth and pulled the trigger. As the scout skin light up on the floor Sam knelled next to keith and demanded some one carry his body back to the thunderhawk. 2 Blood angels lifted his body and carried it away.

The psykout ammo manages to cause a few glances but nothing more than the rest. The tau however bring a railgun on a hammerhead to bear and that brings it down soundly

(All above ground (non Skullscreamer) players, event) The Skullscreamers all of a sudden break cover and run, heading roughly north, the tau and astartes attempt to shoot them down but they seem to be even more ethereal than normal. Even when the assault squad of Brother Sam launches themselves at the snipers once more the Snipers seem to just fade away. Then in the darkness o fthe rapidly ending day the sound of roaring bikes can be heard...
