Is it really necessary to say "boobies" fifty thousand times in a thread about the sisters of battle? How old are you, pouncey?

23.

In my defense, I'm a little immature and a bit pervy.

And yes, I too want my blessed weapon back.

Edit: Also, the Praesidium. I hadn't even gotten around to painting my Canoness' shield.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh, and I've played my Sisters with the new Dex. I'd've likely tabled my opponent if she hadn't surrendered after turn 3 or 4.

In her defense, she was expecting her choppy unit - Honor Guard - to be able to deal with my choppy unit - Battle Conclave with 6 DCAs and 4 Crusaders + Jacobus - but such was not the case. The DCAs butchered the Honor Guard before anyone else could say a word.

However, I only play friendly games, and as such I don't play competitively.

Yes, and yes. They're vastly better than the internet is giving them credit.

The internet feedback is a knee jerk reaction to three things:

1) OMG ITS A WHITE DWARF CODEX QQQ!!!
Ahem, the last BA Codex was in WD and it was by no means terrible or unplayable.

2) OMG YOU CHANGED FAITH NOW IT SUCKS!!!
Kind of. Now you generate 5-42 FP per game (depending on length and luck) with an average of 21 Faith per game. In my 2500 list I had 14 Faith Points with a max of 28 due to Martyrdom.

Of the Acts of Faith the best two were by far 6+ wound = AP1 and you get an invul save = to your armor save. 2++ JP Canoness were fun.

Now we have the following:

Canoness
+1 Ini and Preferred Enemy. Eh, it's okay. Would be much better if they still had access to blessed weapons. WS5 rerolling S5 ini 5 character would be okay.

Celestian Retinue
Relentless and Move Through Cover - C'mon, relentless Multi Meltas? Anyone?

Sisters Repentia
Yay, we each still get one attack even if we died! They're still crap in my book. Seriously, what will they win melee against in a cost effective scenario?

Celestians
+1 S and Fearless. Bleh.

Battle Sisters
Reroll 1s to hit. Pretty crap especially after the days of 3 Flamer Templates melting everything's face. The good part is that it also allows them to auto regroup DESPITE any normal restrictions that would prevent them from doing so. That's pretty nifty.

Dominions
Twin Linked weapons baby. (only when shooting ofc). Unless I'm mistaken this allows them to reroll flamer wounds. So you can run 5 strong /w 2 meltas as tank hunters in a MM Immo or 10 strong /w 4 flamers as serious anti infantry.

Seraphim
Reroll failed wounds during the shooting phase. (They also count as having a Simalcrum Imperalis and get to reroll failed 6+ invul saves).
Obviously with this power the best load out for them is 2 Hand Flamers and going anti infantry.

Retributors
RENDING. Oh, c'mon you know Rending heavy bolters is going to be awesome. I hope.
With Heavy Bolters - cheap anti medium/heavy infantry unit or anti light tank unit. Average roll for them should be 9 hits, 1.5 rends, .5 chance of AP 12, .5 chance of AP 13, .5 chance of AP 14. On AVERAGE a Heavy Bolter unit should be able to pen an AP12 vehicle every turn. Not bad for an 85 point fire base.
With Multi Meltas - rending + multi meltas is meh at best.
With Heavy Flamers - MMM BURNED FLESH. Too bad that unit would be fething expensive.

3) Where's my jump pack Canoness?
She's gone, but you can have an uber St. Celestine for just 25 points more (assuming you went with the bare bones kit on yours).

I think it's WAY too early to say that this codex is terrible.

Ha, the same age as me. I'm a bit immature and pervy too, heh, but I always think "urgh" when someone carries on like that in SoB threads. No offence intended though, I'm the one with the issue I guess.

:: offers huggles :: I should probably cut down on it a bit. If the Sisters of Battle caught me talking about them like that, it'd probably be off to the excruciation chambers with me for some cleansing pain.

I'm still trying to find a copy of the WD with the new SoB stuff in it... both actually. Apparently I didn't get my subscription in soon enough to get the last issue.... it was only Aug 13th............ Those are the two codexs that are sold out everywhere I've looked. Wish there was someone that would post a scan on-line or something.......

Maybe. In my case, I may be somewhat biased because I'm not very flexible in how I want to run my army. I'm very much a "style over substance" person, and whilst I realize this isn't exactly the best approach in a game like 40k it did work out nicely so far in that I could balance around the issue, taking what the rules would offer whilst still keeping true to what I originally had in mind. Now I just feel that the WD 'dex is trying to shoehorn me into re-building my army into something I don't like as much (such as choosing special characters over the Canoness, or giving her retinue multi meltas even though I see them more like a bodyguard rather than heavy weapons troopers) - or, the alternative, I can penalize myself as my classic build won't be as effective anymore.

That said, I think the general trend to "push" armies into a specific build has been criticized for quite some time, for many codices that came out over the past years?

I got mine on ebay, I think you should still be able to find them there! Lots of news agents are offering their stock of magazines online.
Alternatively, you could scour the interwebs. Rumour has it there are some websites that specialize in offering PDF uploads.
