Someone asked for an ethereal kill, I just had one.

An ethereal vs an single sanguinary guard. Ethereal wins.

Back in 2nd edition I had a regular Guardsman with a missile launcher flip a Rhino containing my opponents HQ and tooled out retinue off the table....600+ points dead with one shot.

My Archon with the huskblade/soultrap combo along with drugs, waywire nades and of course the shadowfield, his apparant soul tally includes the likes of: Draigo, Farsight, various Necron lords, farseers galore, Mephiston, Ghaz, a Dreadknight once, and finally my personal favourite, exploding a LR Achilles, the bane of my existence never have I danced like I did that day
Though even though my Archon is very impressive, the old flying nun of doom has taken on entire armies by herself, I know people will agree with me there

Hive Tyrant with scything talons, stranglethorn cannon, armoured shell and regeneration. He killed Draigo, a Dreadknight and survived a vindicare assassin all in one battle.

What was the Dreadknight armed with?

I dont know if this counts but I had my Hq's Rhino tank shock my opponents grand master off the board... following that, I proceeded to kill his deadnought, his second Hq with retinue, and two of his Paladin squads.... I just walked his army off the board.

Are dreadnoughts not elites? And how did it get a retinue, as it can't join units, because it is not an IC, and is a vehicles.

Slaaneshi Chaos Lord in power armor and Blissgiver. Killed 2 full-health Trygons on the charge, in the same combat. That and has killed an Avatar of Khaine (even with Farseer support).

Er, I'll clarify: I Rammed the DreadNought from behind, there were two hq's: a Grey knight Grand master, and a Inqusitor with henchmen. Sorry for not clarifying for you

Blissgiver lord killed in one match about 500-750 points of smurfs (tacticals, vanguard more tacticals) and himself.

But my best HQ comabt was between Logan Grimnar (enemy) and a trukk.

This is what happened

Chaos Lord in Termi armour with MoK, pair of lightning claws + Icon deppstuck in with ten Terminators, proceded to kill around 1400 points of Gaunts alone. He ended up going to to with a Hive Tyrannt, and killing it before getting shot to pices. This took place in a 4k game

CCS with optimized load out for close and personal combat (seemed like a good idea at the time) kill hive tyrant and later eat it. Explosive vomiting shared by all.

Master Belial and 5 mm termientook out two squads of steamers and 2 wounds of a hivetyrant. Got killed by hivetyrant then seargent comes in and kills hivetyrant

Chaos Sorceror w/ Slaneesh and LOS slew Vulcan with his force weapon.

Yabbadabbadon killed 2 Baneblades and a Titan...

Hive Tyrant with: Heavy Venom Cannon, lash whip and bonesword, hardened carapace. Killed: Astorath the Grim and Death company, as well as a razorback.

My Wolf Star unit (four Lords on Thunderwolf Cavalry) killed:
Wazdakka Gutsmek
2 squads of Warbikers
2 30-man squads of Boyz
3 Killa Kans

And survived to the end of the game, with only one of them taking full wounds and dying.

Favorite HQ kills:
Chaos Land Raider with Kharn (with one wound left) cruises into the center of the board. Ork player assaults with a squad of Boyz. Nob rolls a 6...and then a 6...and then a 6. Wounds Kharn, who fails his armor save and dies.

Battlewagon tank shocks an Archon with his retinue (3e DEldar codex). Archon takes the 2+ invul save...and promptly fails.

Land Raider tank shocks the same Wolf Star as above. After spending 3 turns slogging up the board (it was a battle fought lengthwise), they fail their leadership and fall back. Land Raider gradually escorts them off the board.

Abbadon lumps in with a bunch of Obliterators and deep strikes. Scatters 6 inches and lands on top of a Dark Reaper squad, killing himself in the warp.

I had a similar experience in 2nd edition. Had a single genestealer attack and a leman russ tank (in a Space Wolves army.... ) and cause it to flip over and land on all the highly priced special characters that also didn't belong in the Space Wolves army, but were just added for cheese factor by my opponent. Was a beautiful moment.

Favorite HQ I've killed: Running over Abaddon with a Chimera

Favorite HQ Kill-Streak: Straken and his command squad, after the other 80 or so guardsmen in the army died, was left against half a tau army. When he hit the Tau lines, it was just him and the medic. He then proceeded to kill the Tau Crisis Commander and another suit, a squad of broadsides, pathfinders, firewarriors, and anything non-imperial in that half of the board. All the while taking fire from Smart Missiles from other Broadsides. During the course of this, he lost the medic but took no wounds himself.

Marneus Calgar, done down by a lone grot (who heroically rolled snake eyes on morale, and was generrally being ignored in favour of other targets.).

Marneus was just out of 'join a unit' range (about 1/2 an inch short) and down to his last wound.

I shot the grot off for yuks, visualizing this heroic grot sending a shotgun spread into marneus's chestplate, in a gesture of defiance before he got trodden underfoot. He headshotted him instead

Apparently those SM helmets do have a use, after all..

Throughout 3rd and 4th my Chaplain (ChaplainT! Pitier of fools! Tosser of suckas!) killed almost any monstrous creater he faced. In one 3 player game he took out a Carnifex, Avatar and a Wraithlord.

Infelt pretty awesome when my libby warprifted and exploded 2 dreads, 2 termies and a termy chaplain.

Scout taking out Calgars last wound with a bolt pistol.

Similar to Zathras and Skriker (and this doesn't involve HQ), one dark lance kills a land raider, it flips onto a dreadnought, which then kills it.

In the same game, I turned my wave serpent to face... something (I forget what). Anyway, I ignored his squad which was now in a prime position to get its rear armour. He lets loose and kills it, along with fuegan and some fire dragons.

Chaos Lord or Khorne with Daemon Weapon, Power Armor, some other irrelevant stuff. He gets charged by a mob of 24 Ork boys (one being a klaw knob, and my retinue died to ork shooting). I roll 11 for Daemon Weapon giving me 16 total attacks (I think thats correct, it was around there anyway). I kill13 boys. He hits back, deals a single wound with the boys, 1 with the nob, saved with invuln. I win combat, and proceed to kill the rest to SA. My lord with 1 wound left then proceeds to wreck a battlewagon the next turn. He got killed by Ghazzy inside, but he more than made his points back.

Anyway, my HQ units have a surprising tact for failing ID invulnerables.

Anyway, the best I can recall is probably Dante and Sanguinary Guard with Banner destroying a Seer Council w/ Farseer on Jetbikes, a guardian squad and some dire avengers.

The best HQ I've killed... probably managing to munch through Draigo with 5 Death Company, complete with power weapons... That was a fun day...

One dark eldar archon with no shadow field left. Only one wound left, with nothing but a huskblade and 3 pissed off berserkers and their power weapon wielding champ staring him in the face. 5 attacks gave me 5 hits.... 5 hits got me... .3 wounds >.> reroll due to drugs got me one more wound O.O 4 dead zerks, archon goes and joins a squad of warriors with his new token. Now the feral archon is staring down huron black heart, one wound gets through that 5+ save on the blackheart, and his soul is sucked into the soul trap HAHA NOW my str 6 archon stares down the necron destroyer lord 14 inches away ( it was a 3 way ffa) The archon and warriors make their fleet roll and barrel into assault, my archon spits the destroyer lord with 4 wounds, and instapastes him, he fails his res roll, and BOOM str 10 archon MOST EPIC GAME EVAH!!!
