I agree somewhat but if the McRib had to be grouped with something it would be BBQ or ribs.
I would say it is like buying a Uno Chicago style pizza from a gas station (McRib) and a pizza from Lou Malnati's (Ribs). They are so different that it is like comparing apples to oranges but are usually grouped together anyway.

I just started a diet 2 weeks ago, down 12 pounds and things seem to be going good. Now thanks to this I'm thinking about screwing my diet up on a mcrib or 4 that I know will be gross anyway, yet I somehow still want it.

You'd be surprised. I went on a way healthier diet, and starting lifting again and lost about 15 lbs the first three weeks...and that's with the mass I was gaining with the weight lifting. Soda and fastfood really do a toll on your body, and when you stop consuming them, and switch to lean turkey/chicken and recomended serving sizes, the weight starts to fall quickly.

I think it would depend on how big someone is at the outset of the new exercise/eating plan whether or not 12 pounds in 2 weeks is an unhealthy amount.

It is, its about double what you should lose in 2 weeks, unless you happen to be carrying an extremely large amount of body fat. And even then you have to tightly control what you're putting into your body.

And now I can make my famous sammich The McDoubleRibDown!!!
Now I need to go make some real BBQ sauce to put on it, since McDonalds does not have a real BBQ sauce.

Did anyone try the Oriental McRib which was brought out when Disney released Mulan? It was a McRib with Hoi Sin (or an approximation thereof) sauce and shredded spring onion & cucumber. It was epic...

Most actual ribs used in BBQ are pork, though you can get some darned good beef ribs too. I know around here BBQ tends to mean pork though. Unless you are talking a nice brisket, which is beef.
Pretty sure McRibs use left over parts from whatever was chucked in the grinder.

Here BBQ means any kind of meat. Chicken, pork, beef, venison, mutton. Racoon in some of the more rural areas. Actually beef would be more common than pork here, and personally I prefer chicken BBQ myself.

Extreme amt of body fat = me!
Yeah I started at exactly 333 pounds 2 weeks ago. Yesterday morning I was 321. I lost the most the first week, but most diets are like that, you lose a lot of water weight at first. Going forward I'm only expecting a few pounds a week.
No real diet program, just cutting calories. Going from having take out every other night to cooking healthier meals, eating more veggies, etc. I was probably doing like 4000 or so calories a day pretty much all my life. Now I'm doing 1000-1200, give or take a few, just making sure I'm eating healthy and mostly organic stuff, and laying off stuff that slows weight lost like "diet" and "low fat" products that replace things with nasty chemicals and stuff.
But yeah, a McRib was tempting. Luckily I had to work real late and I had to rush home to take the dog out, so I did't have time to stop anywhere. And I hate going out again after I'm already home, so I made me some chicken instead.

True enough.... but one must remember that Barbeque is different from Grilling, even though you can use the same piece of equipment to do both.
And in the South, Barbeque is both a noun and a verb with hugely differing meanings.
