Due to this film I really want to go to a shawarma restaurant

I mean it may LOOK like a donner kebab but I'm hoping it tastes better.

It's a little bit different than Döner, but equally delicious.

I just got back from seeing the Avengers. Best comic movie to date. I even set it up higher than The Dark Knight, which would have stayed on top if it wasn't for the girl who played Rachel. I couldn't stand her in that movie.

We walked out after 30 minutes because we were bored. not trying to be a buzz kill, but I just couldn't care about any of the characters or what was happening. Will try to rewatch while inebriated on my computer at home and it should go better.

Did you accidentally walk into The Hunger Games? I know you are not trying to be a buzz kill like you said, but you must have had a real tough time watching Iron Man 1&2, Thor, The Hulk, and Captain America.

Or did you just not watch Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and Captain America? Because if so, you REALLY missed the point of the Avengers movie and the whole Marvel cinematic universe...

Yeah, if you don't watch any of the other movies, don't expect any character backgrounds info or emotion, it all comes together, Avengers is NOT a stand alone movie. And yes, Hulk is absolutely fantastic and mark ruffalo is the best banner ever. for all time.

Someone edited the Wikipedia article on Shawarma. It now has a line "It is a favourite snack of The Avengers". LOL!

Cannerus cant have seen any of the other movies, because Im famously hard to please at the cinema, but even I really enjoyed the Avengers, it was one of the best Superhero movies I have ever seen, and than includes the last two Nolan Batman films.

Not as smart, but genuinely entertaining.

It wasn't so much Hulk vs. Loki as it was Hulk playing with Loki like an angry spoiled kid trying to destroy a hated rag doll. That was the main reason why at the end he was finally ready for that drink.

My friend in Mumbai mailed me a DVD of the movie dubbed in Hindi with English subtitles, it is most hilarious.

I liked it. Frankly, it was kinda dumb and corny, but dumb and corny fun that doesn't take itself too seriously. It's not even in the same league as TDK, IMO.

Spoiler:
Overall, I thought it did a good job giving everyone decent screen time and something to do despite the disparate power levels. Still, Hawkeye's skills got progressively more ridiculous. The Hulk/Thor fight was a personal highlight. In fact, I think they finally got the Hulk and Banner right. Not crazy about the new Cap uniform. I woulda kept it a little more down-and-dirty like the WWII version. The scene in the restaurant after the credits was gold.

Oh..."Clench up, Legolas." Maybe the best line of the movie, and I think half our audience missed it.

Was fairly shocked by Coulson's death, but maybe that opens up an opportunity for a certain blonde SHIELD agent?

Miss Marvel? Wouldn't they need to introduce the Kree to do that?

Spoiler:
We never saw Coulson die. We here Fury tell everyone over the radio that the medics pronounced him dead but we never actually see that. We also know that Fury was trying to give them a push and got the vintage cards out of the locker and not from Coulson's pocket as well. My guess he isn't actually dead, as comics tend to do.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Good is an understatement, it's the best comic book film ever made.

Scarlett has an incredibly pretty face, but she really needs to tone up some.

I'm glad I went back, because the first time out I missed the after-credits scene. The whole scene with the shawarma had us in stitches.

Not to doubt you, but my favorite happens to be Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

I'd argue that Scott Pilgrim is even better than the comic.

There's room near the top, though.

I prefer to take Scott Pilgrim as the best video game movie ever. Or, as the best movie ever in general.

Finally saw it this weekend with the boys and babydoll. It was a good.... smart film. Being a Cap fan from waayyyy back I was a bit disapoint in his rendering and the uniform was a bit garish. I know they explained the reason for it in the begining with the "old fashioned" bit, but I don't know, it just didn't translate well from the comic to the screen IMO.

That's just a minor...very minor..gripe from a Cap fan.

Black Widow, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk were awesome. Cap was good and Hawkeye was mediocre.

Spoiler:
"Clench up legolas" was a funny line.!!

Anybody else catch who Stan Lee was playing Chess with in the park? I thought mutants were still under copyright with FOX, and I'd be all my Dark Angel still-on-sprue bitz that Magneto was chilling with Stan in the park. Very few people caught it, so I wondered if any of my fellow nerds on here did. Can google it too, if you don't believe me-it's there.
