One thing I did note was when Stark was called and he claimed to be a "Life model decoy"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_Model_Decoy which is a classic bit of SHIELD/Marvel comics tech and therefore provides them with an easy get out clause.
..so.. the cameo/for warning in the credits..
.. we've already seen the gauntlet in passing in Thor... going to be one hell of a fight if they do that story ! Personally I think they'd be better off doing something involving Ultron -- not least as they could squeeze in some other characters quite easily then as well.
Do wonder if this is also a shot across the bows at DC : if they ever get round to doing a JLA movie then Darkseid is the obvious choice for the BIG BAD... who, ironically enough, would wind up looking like a Thanos rip off if Avengers II does feature him.
Spoiler:
That is a pretty good point. Though Coulson did bleed... or did he? I'm not sure anymore.
I guess the extra scene which is probably attached to the regular American release could be something with Coulson in it.
I never really liked Ultron as a villian. Though I don't know a lot about him.

Thor was at least decent. Iron Man 1 and 2 were better, but that's just because Robert Downing Jr is awesomeness incarnate.
Amaya and I are in complete agreement.

Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Spoiler:
Agent Coulson.
Just something to remember about that. (pretty big spoilers below)
Spoiler:
The cards had blood on them, but Coulson also died 'off screen' with Fury saying simply over the intercom 'they've called it'. Later when Maria questions him about the cards, as Coulson didn't have them when he 'died', Fury said 'they just needed a little push'.
I'll bet Coulson turns up in the next Iron Man to a shocked Stark.

I really do wish that Fox would let go of the Fantastic Four rights. If Marvel could get a Fantastic Four film off the ground and do it right (which I assume they would... certainly moreso than Fox did with their efforts), then we could have Dr. Doom as a badguy in the Avengers film. That would be awesome.

Agree completely - Cap A was not to my taste..........
Iron Man 1 + 2 were indeed awesome and the Avengers film continued in that vein - I notice the only "girlfriend" that got in was Pepper - the those two have really great on sceen chemistry
They kept Mr Downey off screen enough to give the others a chance and therre werre so many laugh out loud moments and dialogue. Great action. Banner was better and even Hawkeye worked out ok.
It does make me wonder what RD Jnr would have done with Bruce Wayne role

Hmmm..I thought the Cap film was pretty good. Of course me and Cap go waayyyy back. I've pretty much enjoyed all of the super hero films they have been putting out.
Captain America, as a hero, suffers because of Cap'n personality; It never changes. He goes from a Wimpy Patriot to over the top bad ass patriot. He suffers from nothing other than being patriotic. Tony is egotistical and a complete Drunk, Banner is paranoid, Thor was a spoiled rotten brat, but Captain doesn't have any real flaws. It makes him one dimensional, and boring.
I personally thought they did a good job with the movie, though. Still would rank Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man 2, and Captain America in that order, though.
I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.
cap has always been the straight man. he never really had a character flaw ever, except is over the top patriotisim and "lawful good/stupid" attitude. his role in various team efforts has always been that of leader and inspiration in the face of overwhelming odds and peril. (check out the maximum carnage series...) i think he is suited towards a role of "straight man" to other characters comedic or other efforts. he is a force multiplier, not a main attraction.
as for his movie, i thought it did very well, all things considered. even with mr smith.. i mean red skull showing up.
what i want to see is a spiderman / avengers movie. if the spiderman reboot turns out to be any good, maybe we will see him team up with one or more of the avengers against a hopefully properly done venom or carnage.
and no, spiderman 3 does not count. that movie has been erased from comic lore and sent to the woodshed for a beating worse then a red headed step child
Do not mention that movie. Venom has so much potential, and that movie WASTED it.
The problem with the Spiderman movies is that it had as many villains as there were movies; 1 had Gobo, 2 had Doc Oct and Hobgoblin, and 3 had Hobgoblin, Venom, and Sand Man. There really wasn't enough room to do each character justice....
I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.
Given the choice it just would have been Sandman (and Hobgoblin, ‘cause that needed to be dealt with). Venom would not have been in it. It only gets worse when you get into the “actors hate having masks on”, so we get Spidey losing his mask every 3 seconds, and Topher Grace morphing out of Venom... which was just stupid.
I’d be nice of Marvel had control of X-Men, Spiderman and Fantastic 4, because the cross-over movies would be amazing. I’d love a New Avengers film with Cap, Tony, Spidey and Wolverine rocking around.
Just put Iron Man / Tony Stark and Pepper in all the films and I would be happy.

I'm surprised you're such a comic geek, H.
Then again, it would explain why you tend to be so bitter about things you love.
And yes, I'd love to see Downey Jr. meet Hugh Jackman too. Not so sure about the new Spider-Man though.
The new spiderman looks great, IMO. I hope we see a 'new' spiderman cameo with the avengers. Could you imagine that boring little gakker Toby Maguire in the Avengers?

I have no idea about his personality, but I think he has a way better look for the role than one emotion Tobey, the only man in cinema who can deliver the line "congratulations, its a boy!" with the same tone and facial expressions as "You killed my father you bastard!"
Seriously, I hate Tobey Maguire.
We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

The irony of course being that I've never read a Marvel comic in my life.

I dunno about the new Spiderman either - guess we'll just have to wait and see - but as far as Wolverine goes, it could be like that scene in First Class:
"Hello there. I'm Captain Steve Rogers and this is Tony Stark."
"Go feth yourself."
"O...k..."
Saw it for the first time, packed house at a midnight show. There are no superlatives to describe how I was blown away by this movie. I am going to see it again tomorrow. And the next day.
I loved this movie, but it suffered from major flaws.
Spoiler:
Like, BLack Widow and hawkeye, they are thrown in and are seen as important in the film, But we are never given anything about them. So when Hawkeye cont controlled you felt less invested.
But the super heroes where nice together. But so many jokes that i kept facepalming.
For those who wonder what the post credits ending is in the US release:
Spoiler:
You may recall the moment after Tony comes back from space and is awakened by the Hulk yelling in which he says they should all go to some new shawarma restaraunt becuase he had never had shawarma. Cap says they still have something left to do and they go get Loki. In the US release the Thanos scene is before the credits and the post credits scene is all the characters, immediately post battle and still battered and beaten, sitting in the shawarma restaurant just quietly eating. It is a funny scene but hard to describe and get the humour across.
Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
