I'd like to sign up, but I'm not exactly sure what I'm signing up for. This seems like a batrep pool, where we're not necessarily playing against each other, but sort of keeping score in a general sense. What happens if 2 armies of "order" play each other? I pretty much only have access to SM armies (I play Eldar)? Does order get victory points regardless? How do armies with allies work, Eldar w/ DE allies, for example?

I really like the idea. It seems like a great motivator for a huge Vassal league.

We won't necessarily be playing other dakka users, if you want to play at your local gaming store, just tell your opponent that you are going to be putting it up online and then its all good. If two order armies face off, it entirely depends on how you want it to sound. For example, a GK army fights an SM army. Before the game you'd designate one as 'disorder' and one as 'order'. So in this case, you could see the GK as, while helping keep daemons back and what not, as being counterproductive to the overall defence of the sector. Therefore they would be disorder. Alternatively, you could see it as your GK cleansing some tainted marines/guard, in which case the GK will be order. Does that help?

And with allies, I'll tentatively say that it is the main faction of your army, unless you have a specific fluff reason why not (e.g. its IG with nid allies, the nids are 2 units of genestealers with broodlords and some other HQ, and the IG are meant to be cult warriors. That would be an exception to the rule, and on you'd make clear to us as you sign up). This is subject to change once I hear back from the other organizers.

I hope I answered your questions

aside from that, yes in a way

in Inquisitor, a Space Marine can take a krak grenade, pull out the pin, eat the grenade, throw the pin, and the thrown pin will actually kill a normal man, whereas the Space Marine won't even have indigestion. This has actually happened in a game. Hell, a marine can throw his bolt shells and do more damage than by shooting his boltgun

I have been working on starting a Dark Angel Battlefleet Gothic but do to a lack of funds I have only a space station named The Repentance.

I have a question for one of the planners. I have been working on making my own Dark Angel fortresses such as a Tower of Vengeance. It follows the same rules/size scale of the Fortress of Redemption however the shape is much different but area size it takes up the exact same area. Can I use my Tower of Vengeance in place of the Fortress of Redemption?

Oh why not. I'm going to be teaching a couple of my friends the game coming up soon. This might just be the added fun to get them motivated.

Since we'll all be using my armies I'll just sign them all up.

Space Marines, Omega Doom Fist Angel Knights (ODFAK) 74th Penance Crusade under the guidance of His most pious Master Chaplain Frank (Order)

Tyranids, Hive Fleet Minnow as guided by the ever hungry hive mind (other)

Orks, WAAAAAGGHH Sixteef, bossed around by boss Sixteef hiimself. (DiSordEr)

One guy plans on starting a Chaos army so if this run until after Dark Vengeance hits the stores he'll have a Chaos army to enlist. I'm sure it will be khorne as he already enjoys yelling "Blood for the Blood god!" in entirely inappropriate situations... Like whenever he sees a box of tampons...

Not a chance. We are creating a narrative with the tools GW have been kind enough to gift to us, none of this ridiculous home-brewed tomfoolery!
