Amazing work! I will be following this blog from now on.

I love how you made the camo patterns on the Wu Ming big. The details of the armor are still noticeable at the same time giving the overall impression of the camo.

I notice that you leave off pieces while painting for easier access I'm guessing, then assemble them later. Do you pin & glue them or just glue them on?

The devil is in the details.

Hi and thanks for the comments.

@junex It depends on the miniature it prefer to leave parts of so that I can reach all the parts of the mini but only if the part are easily attachable afterwards if possible I try to finish the parts so I can varnish the first so the paint don't get damaged when I glue them. I'm currently working on a Briscard and the gun makes some of the areas hard to reach but the assembly is to complex, need to position both arms and I can't do that easily afterwards.

Finished painting a Briscard not my best work was a bit tricky to paint with the gun attached and there were lots of equipment and straps that needed painting in some hard to reach areas. So the paint is a bit flat in parts were I couldn't reach to properly shade and highlight.

Epic, as H says, very realistic! I see what you mean about it being a little flat in areas but I think it almost adds to that realism.

Thanks for the comments

@Casey's Law yes there wasn't much room for the more dramatic shades and highlights, but the cloth should have fairly soft shadow and highlights so lets blame it on realism

I'm not a fan of that model but I am a massive fan of your painting. I can't put into words how awesome it is an, how crap it makes my painting look (mind you a 2 year old could make my painting look crap)

Truly awesome work as always Ivan.

Aw heck that's slick. Like Nerm I don't like the miniature but you've totally made it work. As always, your painting astounds me.

I'm still getting a really strong Deus Ex vibe from your scheme which is getting me really pumped up because I just order a new copy of the game to replace my scratched up disc. Can't wait to play it all over again.

Thanks glad you like the paint job it is definitely a somewhat awkward looking mini.

@Casey's Law thanks will take that as a great complement since I love the Deus Ex games

Started working on a Su-Jian currently painting the lower half of the combat form. I split it in to two parts so that i can reach all areas with paint when I'm done with the lower part i will varnish it and attach the upper part when i have put down the basic paint job on it.

Looks very nice so far, I love the camo style! Out of interest, does that mini come with both camo and standing form? It's certainly a unique mini from the range, I've always been curious as to what parts the set contains.

Whee finally managed to paint some thing finished painting the mobility form of the Su Jian and a tiger soldier. Realized that the unit symbol for the tiger soldier would be to complicated to paint so I went with what i hope is the Chinese symbol for tiger.

Thanks for the kind words trying to keep the painting momentum up started working on the spec ops version of Uxia Mcneill. Currently finishing up the clothes and armour thinking of painting the hair a strong red colour just need to find a colour recipe that doesn't look like clown hair so some suggestions are welcome.

Finished painting Uxia used a similar paint recipe to that i used on the orange parts on the Yu Jing minis but with a bit more brown in the mix to make it look more natural.
