How about adding some 'ablative' cadian armour to your Guard vehicals too ?

Plenty of modeling possibilities there, and if you use enough you should be able to blag a cover save!

I'll make it a vehicle upgrade in the next Only War book: "Ablative Cadians".

Really? I thought you didn't like the look of them.

Let me know how they are in person. I really like the look of it but without rules I'm passing for now.

I was drooling over the trenches, but decided to jump in and get a necron megaforce that I'll probably never have time to finish painting.

I am perfectly capable of both mocking the absurdity of the pile'O'Cadian corpses and liking the terrain at the same time.

Well, the Wall of Martyrs is no longer available on the GW US site as of 3:30 PM PST. Guess I should have bought one this morning. Oh well.

Wow. Not available at the US store. That sold out quick.

Wait... that means there will be a spike in profits? The shareholders are going to lose their gak!

Quickly GW – double... no... triple the price of everything (quintuple for Australia, naturally). That ought to slow down sales enough to keep the shareholders in line.

I am sure GW will sell the pieces individually. Probably be released a few weeks before Christmas.

That would be nice. Being able to pick up some of the trench pieces down the road after the holidays have settled down would make me a happy camper.

Given the box lists its contents as:

“... three Imperial Defence Lines, two Imperial Defence Emplacements and one Imperial Bunker...”

... it seems to imply that we’ll soon see separate releases for an ‘Imperial Defence Line’ box, an ‘Imperial Defence Emplacement’ box and an ‘Imperial Bunker’ box. My hope is that there is some level of modularity built into that bunker. I hope the smaller annex can sit on either side.

Paradox? Nah! If anything I am a veritable wellspring of consistency.

I love terrain. I love building terrain. I love using terrain. I love making themed battlefields and elaborate RPG tables. And I love all the terrain GW makes except for a couple of fantasy pieces (Skull Tower, Castle Greyskull, Overly-Busy Keep), the 40K Action Playset (the thing with the busted Rhino) and the Realm of Lack of Imagination.

I cannot wait for these to show up. Man these would’ve made The Maze from Deathwatch’s Rising Tempest so much easier to stage. I mean, we got by with my... *counts mentally*... 9 sets of Aegis Defence Lines (they made ‘sort of’ trenches), but it would’ve been epic with these.

If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.

Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.
I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.

I'd get the Necron Megaforce, but I'm one of those people who hates having spare models, and I don't want/need any more Necron Warriors.

I also think Tomb Blades are one of the dumbest (and most supurfluous) units in the game. They just look absurd. Give me 6 Wraiths in stead...

Space Marines get a Megaforce every year... I was really hoping that we would see a Chaos Space Marines or Daemons one. The Necron Megaforce looks pretty cool though.

I actually like the tomb blades a lot I don't need the extra warriors either though, but ya never know, maybe they'll be better when they redo the codex in 2039.

huh? Warriors are pretty damn good now, already. I don't really play them either, but that's just because I pretty much play a necron air force and for scythes, you want immortals.
I've seen Warrior/Ghost Ark armies do scary, scary stuff plenty of times. get two arks with 5 warriors each in them (I believe) to make, then a big blob of twenty with a res orb and perhaps a funky cryptek in it (everyone plays this kind of list with twin overlords on barges anyway) to march up in between those two arks and basically anything within 24" is dead meat - the amount of firepower given off by that combo is insane
also, just try to kill it. yes, you'll plink the arks in the end, but by that time there's still a 20strong (because it heals every turn, from two arks...) warrior unit marching right up to that objective.
I'm not sure I'd have the patience to paint the boatload of, frankly, rather boring warrior models needed but it's a nasty thing alright, if you're looking for a purpose for those warriors

Yeah, I can't paint plain ole metal necrons. Mine are all rusted looking, and I'll be going for a marble look for the vehicles if I can pull it off without it looking dumb. I just have lots of warriors already though, 3 units of 13

I kinda wish one of those bitz maker companies would do new not-gauss rods that match the style of the newer guns instead of the plain ole clear green rods

Zealous Knight

Yeah, I know. Folks around here using lots of deathmarks and tesla immortals have gotten to cutting the rods out of gauss immortals' weapons (deathmark rods are a little to short, IIRC) but it's a lot of work and only works if you don't just use a bunch of warriors, but lots of tesla immortals too.
(actually, in mixed lists that would often work. Tesla immortals are, IMO, a little better against most opponents if you have plenty of gauss to deal with armour already)

Discount Games Store has released a bunch of extra holiday megaforce packs on their facebook with a steep discount - their necron one by comparison is $20 cheaper than the GW necron megaforce, and has the same models. Tyranid, CSM, Daemons, Empire, Tau with allies etc.

Ordered 2 Necron megaforces from them, but swapped out tomb blades, triarch stalkers and immortals for wraiths, doom scythes and lychgarde.
