Uhhhhhhh.....anybody else seeing crazy weird price fluctuations. Like, I just checked the Necron Megaforce and it was not listed as $400, then I went back 10 mins later and the price had raised to $400.

Same thing with some of the Battalion boxes. I was looking at the Skaven Army box then went back to look at the battalion box and the price had jumped to$170 whereas it's normally around $120. What's going on?

Sounds like you're on the Australian GW site, you need to change the little flag in the bottom right hand corner to the US to see your regular non-ridiculous GW prices.

Hey since this was in my email (the same one I got about Megaforces and what nots) does it mean anything as far as being a re-release of Man-O-War or nay?

If I didn't already have multiples of everything in the Necron Megaforce, I'd go for it in a heartbeat.

Keep in mind, that all of those that are Dual Kits, are likely still dual kits in the Megaforce.

Means you can have a Ghost Ark or DD Ark, or a CCB/Abarge.

Not a bad deal at all, gets you everything you need to get started, with several options.

Ugh, the stupidness of the way those cultists are divided is beyond me. It also looks worrying for cultist fans because GW took the seaguard from the Warhammer Fantasy box and made them available separately and they still havent released multi part kits for any of the HIgh elf stuff. Instead of beating the bits sellers at their own game, this would make me more likely to use a bits seller so that I could get more variety.

I like some of the bits of the wall of martyrs but It's to big for me to justify buying the whole thing. I find the timing curious as it's Remembrance Day in the UK tomorrow.

Or if you could actually look at the image in the context of the email... Considering it is above the information about "Shipping You Can Trust"...

For me it's "Are those chunks of green plastic for the crystals worth $33?" Since that's the best reason to buy them, IMO. If I can find an alternative elsewhere, I'll do it. GF9's crystals are great, but even the small ones are only good for vehicle bases, not soldiers.

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

Have a look at the Anarchy Models crystals, they do small stuff for bases as well as larger bits (and they're nice and clear unlike the gale force 9 stuff)

http://www.anarchymodels.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=2&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1&vmcchk=1&Itemid=1

(You can get them from Wayland games if you don't want to buy from a small supplier, but roll them into a large order instead)

Why 'while stocks last' on the Imerial defence network? The pricing for it itsn't too bad, but GW could make alot more money if it wasn't limited.

They made the same with Space Hulk. They see it as a success to only have stock for a few days, don't ask.

I suppose the idea is that it looks good..."Oh my god, we sold out in like two days!"...but it's not so impressive when you purposely print a limited number and all but ensure that they'll sell out quickly.

Nothing here is really all that interesting. I would have liked the defense line if it wasn't covered in irremovable corpses.

Its to make "fake hype" same reason they cut the number of white dwarf magazines in half (or less), "Oh shiz guys it sold out guess you should have gotten a sub" is what I hear from the sell-bots at GW.

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

$357.50 GW Retail for components

This means that if you pick up the mega force from GW, you're getting a 30% discount (huge for GW). Picking it up from an online discounter like MiniatureMarket gives you a total 48% discount off retail. That's a pretty sweet deal if you don't care that retail price is obscenely high in the first place.

it looks like GW is not letting online retailers sell it... does anyone know of any online retailers that do have it available for purchase?

Direct Only items generally have lesser discounts for retails, etc so on. That's probably why those folks don't have it.

From what I understand, Miniature Market was not allocated any for sale (my friend just texted me and said "Yeah just called mini market and they said GW did not want them to have it and they didn't get any allocated to them, same with all the big box sets including the paint set")

Does anyone know any retailers that are getting the sets? Or are they all direct order only?

Still a good discount either way .. for the necrons anyway, if you buy everything separate it's like $360 or so, so you're saving $110, better than the usual online shop doing 20% off. Get it from your FLGS if you can

I'm really tempted to go for the necron force, it's just about all the models I've been wanting to add to the Battleforce I got a while back. Just hesitant because I know how little time I have now, I'll never finish painting everything :( But I still wants it...

The Space Marine Mega Force is an excellent discount and includes many core units. Were I starting a Space Marine army, I'd buy this one.

Ok GW, $10 for 5 chaos cultists is good value. But what I am supposed to do with three ranged guys and two cc guys? I mean really!?
So lets say I had money to burn I could drop $100 and get 30 ranged guys and 20 cc guys. $100 to get two incomplete cultists squads (don't want the cc ones anyway)! Really?! On the plus side the 2 part snap fit cultists will be easy to mold and copy (not endorsing, just stating the obvious).

Welcome t the wonderful world of "Oh God why do I live in this country that charges 40% extra on everything ever?"

You think paying 40% extra on toy soldiers is devastating (which is rightly is), try paying 40% extra on a simple motor vehicle

Interesting. MiniatureMarket got Mega Forces last year. I'm not sure why they didn't get any this year. Must be GW trying to stop the deep discounting. :(

Pity. I'd have bought a mega paint set from MiniatureMarket. It isn't worthwhile to buy it from GW.

What no Megaforces through Miniature Market? Damn that sucks. I'll give them a call tomorrow to confirm. I was gonna say that I wished they'd done mega forces for all (as many as they could) of the armies. It's not that hard to throw sprues in a box. Only addressing two armies out of 16 is way lazy.

They've only ever done four armies for the holidays. Two for 40k and two for Fantasy.

It is, but the price is a joke. You can get the icicles and the frosted plastic elsewhere for a fraction of the price*. There will even be articles on how to do it for less.

*You could probably get a 6'x4'** sheet of frosted plastic for the price of the basing kit. No joke.

Is there any validity to the statement that the Wall of Martyrs terrain set is sold out from GW?

I was in a GW store last night and the employee stated that they had sold out of the set online. Looking at the GW US site it is still listed as "While Supplies Last" so it left me scratching my head.

How about adding some 'ablative' cadian armour to your Guard vehicals too ?

Plenty of modeling possibilities there, and if you use enough you should be able to blag a cover save!

If they bust up the terrain into separate kits like they did with the CoD stuff, I might pick up the bunker. Piles of dead Cadians really don't fit my table well, but I think Apoxie Sculpt and some effort can turn those details into rock formations pretty easily.
