Ok, what's the silliest weapon name you've spotted so far? I'm going with Blacksword Missiles.

Overall, there's nothing I actively dislike about this release - Nephilim fighter is cool and doesn't have a silly name either - but it's not enough to sway me.

ok, but since you probably don't play Dark Angels, you ha e no basis for comparison. The Blades of Reason are a pretty nasty artifact of the Dark Angels armory. No less silly than the Black Mace or the Murder Sword.

No frame of reference, Donny...

I have no basis of comparison to find them silly? The names aren't very good, that's all. And it's easy to expect these are "powerful, ancient artifacts" found in most codecies.

And the Murder Sword has an awful name, the Black Mace not so much.

Having looked at the sprue pics there are a few helmets, pads and accessories I might be buying from bits sites (hello, melta bomb rack), but there's not enough useable/good stuff in any of these kits justify buying the whole thing. I say this as a non DA player who combines the sword and Angel iconography with the BA stuff for a custom chapter.

do we know anything about when the other rumoured units, eg. the not-quite -Chaplain squad, might be dropping?

I actually kinda like the nephilim fighter, looks a hell of a lot better without the goofy arches and gak on it, but is it really worth $75? I say no. : \

It contains much more parts than regular Terminator kit, though. In fact, if you buy that + one regular Terminator box, you probably have enough parts for 10 customized DW Terminators. In that sense, you end up paying extra $10 for the "bitz" which is not too bad. Old DA upgrade sprue costs $20 and has only few Terminator parts.

Yeah, I actually wonder if this kind of combo kits are good idea after all if it increases the price? Would they sell more if they had two different kits which were say $10 cheaper? You won't get "extra" bits then but most people don't need them anyway.

I'm liking the look of most of the ravenwing bikers, though.

Must be the first time you have seen Terminators then, because they all have stick thighs on monster calves for ages:

That made me giggle. No, I really like these actually. Will it be enough to make me want to start a small army? Probably not, but I really like the character of the Dark Angels. Asmodai is class, I really like the sculpt, and the smoke doesn't even bug me that much. I even like the land speeder (god forbid) Obviously I'm looking at it with an eye to convert, but it looks like it could be really quite something.

The Terminators aren't great for scaling themselves, but the Death Wing torso appears to be larger than the normal Terminator models torso, meaning it makes the legs look uneven and small. It can easily be fixed with some green stuff, but it's a bit of a pain.

I love the Knights. They'll be a welcome add to the army. And the Vengeance is getting a lot of hate, but I really like the look of it. The version with the Plasma Cannon monstrosity, not the flying cathedral. Those was all I preordered (and the Codex). I'm sure I'll end up with a Jetfighter or two later, but I want to read the new Codex before I get anything else.

Need to find a better place to preorder from, though.

For some reason I missed the "knight terminators" (the ones with shields) last night when I looked, and GW's site is down atm for maintenance. Luckily they're in the dakka gallery, though (link posted by Kyoto earlier):

Seeing the larger pictures it shouldn't be too hard to convert a nephilim jetfighter from a stormtalon.. At least it will save me quite some money as I've got plenty of plasticard left anyway from my thunderhawk project

The Deathwing Command Squad is pretty cool. But it's 100 SEK (about 15 bucks) more expensive than regular Terminators. I hate to bitch about the price, but there's no way I'm paying that.

Edit: The cloaked/hooded ones I mean. Not the piss boring ones that just look like any other Terminator.

It does go partway towards explaining why they still haven't rounded up the Fallen after 10k years.

The SCs aside I really like the models...if not GW's paint jobs. Unfortunately, sanity prevents me from adding to Mount Platicrack so it's just the codex for me for now.

Edit...the only downside is that I would want to grab a box of GK Terminators to give the DA Knights Swords. I don't like the look of the balloons on a stick, although the flail is good.

I swear some people complain just to complain, I am not seeing any differences in sizes compared to the previous terminators.

That said, another price jump really hurts on those terminators. I was thinking of getting two (maybe three boxes) of them until I saw the price/contents. While I like the inclusion of the the CML in the box, I would have much rather seen an extra Thunder Hammer or two on the sprue than an Assault Cannon. I actually use the AssCan with my DW and I still have a boatload of unused ones since they were on that upgrade sprue that has been around for a while.

I'm also a touch concerned about the shoulder joints. It almost looks like they are a bit smaller, and as all my arms are magnetized, I am wondering how much extra work it is going to be to get these ones done with those weird holes.

The fighter looks great though, and it's cool to see some extra rules being used. One of the flyer variants has the Strafing Run USR.

PS Sammael has been out as a Finecast model for a while now, it's not new.

Actually, in my case I just don't own GW terminators and didn't realize the older ones had chicken legs, too.

Older ones having them doesn't necessarily make it OK but does make it less news-worthy.

Anyway, I'm very happy with my current alternate termie models, and am wondering about using those sweet McVey suits for them when they hit, too.

Medieval Knights it is, pre-ordered...a "few".

New year and already given in to more Termies and Bikes. Plus a "LS-extra large" and two small "birds"..

So of those Characters only Asmodai makes it onto my list, Belial can stay in his non-finecosted state as I wouldn't swap the 'counts as' of mine with this model.

Azrael and Ezekiel still available yet... Share the fate of Dante?
Scouts finally found in "Troops". Upgrade-set not gone..YAY.
