Looks like some piece of 40k terrain.

Doesn't match any current faction or architectural style. Very mysterious.

Maybe something like SoB high tech gallows?

Sane theory - some kind of terrain feature

Insane theory - the mechanical support for a massive spider leg - behold the steam powered AoS war spider of doom!

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Part of the rotating mechanism of a 40k pumpjack, probably known as a Promethium Extracticus or some other such pseudo-Latin name.

Skaven Warmachine doesn't seem completely out of the question.

Otherwise I agree it's probably terrain.

Growing up around the oil field, I can confirm that this is almost certainly a pumpjack.

My immediate thought too. It looks like a further Sector Mechanicus add-on. The style matches IMO.

I think the bigger question is whether it is a standalone terrain piece, or faction specific like the fragdrill. I could see it being used by Ad Mech or AM, perhaps giving buffs to vehicles or something, but it is a bit more tangential than mechanic shops and the fragdrill.

Wasn't some comments in the past weekender about necromunda specific terrain?

It could fit nicelly in the industrial theme for necromunda.

Alternatively some mechanical walker, as it may be some secondary leg/arm support.

The edge highlighting and wash around the rivets suggest it's pretty small. Too small to be the rotating part of an oil pump.
I still think it looks like terrain, but probably a small detail piece rather than a main component.

I’m expecting something for the Ironweld Arsenal.

Looks ‘high low tech’ enough to match. Perhaps a piston on a new type of Steam Tank or equivalent.

Hmm, a distinct lack of skulls makes me feel that this is not your standard Sector Imperialis terrain kit.

Yes, maybe it's for AoS...

It feels a bit too steam age for 40k; mechanicum stuff is more 1920’s sci-fi gone mad + skulls. Betting on AoS, Kharadron Overlords?

There’s a distinct victoriana vibe to it, yet without the usual steampunk embellishment. Which for my money is refreshing.

Ironweld seem the best fit. Looks too practical for Air Stunties.

Not the right motif for KO or AoS, in my opinion.

I'm tentatively speculating that GW is going back and doing some faction specific terrain bits for the early released armies(Marines, GK, CSM, AM, Guard) and potentially even revamping their books as part of Vigilus now that the GSC are done.

My completely random guess : I think its for a Darkoath Houndmaster.

Indeed, that is one of many kits the rumour pic does not belong to.
