Yeah we pay for a rule that's negated by the very basic premise of focused fire. No other army has to go through that.

Can I just talk about the Warscythe for a sec? This weapon used to be one of the most feared CC weapons in the game now it's basically a joke. Each iteration is worse than the one before. I'd like to see a buff of some sort maybe flat 3 damage or MW's for wound rolls of 6+ or Str 8, or how about all 3?!

S8 seems reasonable. I dunno about a straight D3 but I'm open to it.

I doubt GW would go for ignore all saves, but flat D3 would be good at the very least. I think Void Scythe could be "always wounds on a 2+" as well to give it that extra something.

For me a key part of the Necron character as a tabletop faction and in the lore is their focus on defeating armour. Gauss just removes it layer by layer and dedicated melee weapons ignore it by vibrating in and out of dimensional states.

I would give Warscythes, Hyperphase Swords, Voidblades and Rods of the Covenant (in melee) the ability to subtract one from enemy invulnerable saves.

That is interesting. Obviously, our most iconic CC weapons need a rework to compare to their former glory.

The destroyer lord could have a 2+ WS as well. I mean, marines get 2+ WS with rerolls, and necrons don't? There is no reason why that has to be the case balance wise.

Voidblades grant an extra attack, there's your fourth power sword attack, same as what a Captain has and they'll thankfully soon be paying an arm and a leg for their thunder hammers so maybe we won't have to be so jealous of their amazing damage output.

Destroyer Lords could have WS 2+, but it wouldn't fit with their previous WS and would degrade the value of WS 2+. Obyron and Overlords having WS 2+ is special because they're the only ones that get it, where does it stop? Lychguard, Praetorians and Lords could be WS 2+ as well. People have asked for the same to be extended to Terminators, but there is too little granularity in the system to do so IMO. Improve the weapons or attacks characteristics, that has more granularity.

For Lychguard I might want to see something like one big attack or two small attacks to represent their fluff of being calculating and precise instead of furiously hacking away at their target.

Don't all marine HQ characters get 2+ WS though? I don't see what makes them so special.

An extra attack for Overlords is a no brainer.

What might be a good idea is to make Tesla go off on an unmodified 6 so it can't be rebuffed. Then Stormlord can buff it or a strategem could buff it to 5+.

Because feth Daemons, right? Actually...

Not even Terminators get an invuln against this.

The ABSOLUTE BEST you can get is a 2+/3++, which would be reduced to a 5++ by that. That's crazy.

Didn't the original warscythe just flat out ignore saves of any kind?

You're kinda cool with ignoring invulnerable saves for a 1 CP stratagem
But lets assume a 2A weapon on a 5" walking platform is a problem.

Warscythe:
- AP 4
- Also reduces any invulnerable saves taken against this weapon by 1

How's that?

Don't care. Tradition is not a good reason to include unbalanced things.

That is, against basically everything, 2 mortal wounds per successful wound roll. In a weapon that can be taken in good quantities.

There's already a way to ignore invuls. Its a single attack, but its still an option.

There are already things that ignore all saves called Mortal Wounds. What if Warscythes produced a MW in addition to damage on a wound roll of 6+? Warscythes are NOT fine at all.

Not worth anything...we only get *3* attacks on our HQs...So, the odds of even getting a 6 to wound are already abysmally low.

Obviously, our characters need an extra attack. If that happens 6+ MW's on warscythes sounds good especially since GW is looking at how potent Lychguard can be as a result.

Lots of people hate MW, I'd like to hear an argument as to why it's actually a bad mechanic I personally love it.

Giving a ubiquitous weapon option that's only 11 points the ability to deal mortal wounds by default is pretty filthy, imo.
If you want to buff it, make it cheaper or give it the ability to force rerolls of successful saves. You're paying mostly for -4AP anyway.

You know what would be cool? If Flayed Ones can infiltrate like that new Warsuit can.
T1 Flayed One horde charge would then be possible. If nids, orks and marines can T1 charge, I don't see why we can't as well

Do they deal mortal wounds by default, or do you have to roll a 6? One is not the same as the other.
