Update on my Kans, got the colors blocked off and almost ready for shading.I need to clean up my dags a bit and I'm not liking how the yellow turned out on the lenses. I think I'll paint over it with more leadbelcher and try one of the gem technical paints to get a different effect.

Im going to really try for this one this month! Hopefully I can get my paint-mojo back.

I got this guy from eBay and it is a statue (55mm?) of what appears to be an apoc survivor-cyborg with a BIG gun. I've been trying to get into more display type models to use as short projects to get myself interested in doing more painting. Most of my experience is eithe competition level single models or large armies for tournaments. Neither of which I've had much interest in doing for a while. If I can get this guy knocked out I hope to display him on my mantle and proceed with several other interesting finds I've bought in preparation to having an assortment of my work on display. Wish me luck!

The dude-borg I'll be calling him Bluto.

Better pics once I get some paint on him.

I have that model, SlaveToDorkness! I'm looking forward to seeing how he turns out.
I also love those bikers, Maharg - good luck.
I'm sure any one of them will be awesome, Modock - I look forward to yours as well.

I thought I would try something a bit different as a kind of trial-run for a subject I am trying to get running at my school (yes,I'm a secondary-school teacher, sorry)....

Well I am impressed with the contrast, its definitely a quick way to get colour down, but when it pools it dries thick so will need to be layered to mask mistakes

My razorback is looking like a useful machine now

Will edit with pics later

Layer a day. Just put the black wash down. Next is the second blue coat.

Late start and slow progress. Forcing myself to the bench once a day to put one color down. I knew this was going to be a slog, and it is. But the hull is getting close. Once that’s done, the guns and accessories will probably swiftly follow. Making it over the hump is the issue. Vehicles are just so big and daunting.

I’m off on holiday, haven’t even started on the las- guns, and I’ll take aaaages on the wulfen faces and arms. Got to get the airbrush set up to do the headlights too... and some GS work still to do on bits I’ve missed.
I might get some progress on Monday, but I’m not hopeful...

Great progress, everyone!

I've been pushing ahead and I got far enough on the tanks to extend the project a bit as we come in to the finish. I dug up a bunch of various bits to trim the tanks with, including some junk from the Rhino sprue, assorted purity seals and scrolls, some really cool bits from the Black Knights box (scrolls, censers, icons), and a pair of dozer blades. In addition, I had some old Forge World Rhino doors that had been badly miscast and were too thin and warped to properly fit the doorframes. I cut away to doors, cleaned up the icons, and mounted them on a bit of sprue to paint.

I took this photo yesterday, so please consider it a second proof photo to mark the start of the process on the trimmings. I made good headway on the painting this weekend, so there's a few more progress pics in my P&M blog.

@Tikay, land Raider looks great , I especially like the drivershot where it looks like he opened the hatch to get out because it smells like wet dog in there .

Well I’ve been sidelined with a fractured foot and going down the steps to my painting area is too painful to muck about with. Glad I got a good jump on the steam punk dwarves, if I get a chance I’ll be adding some base decor and possibly a few runes, but not likely to be done in time.

LOL, Theo your mind is an amazing place, never change.-camkierhi 9/19/13

Catching up with things now I'm back from my holiday. Hope everyone is well.

Nice conversion Dukeofbeer, looks like it has a lot of character.

Hope you complete that one SlaveToDorkness, I remember some of your previous entries have been awesome so looking forward to that one.

Lol Chris56 that is completely different but wonderful all the same.

Tikay Fortooun - IF you called that finished I wouldn't have known any different, it looks great with some very interesting touches on it.

Jamie Shred - Very nice weathering and really suits the fallout style.

Theophony - Ouch that sucks, hope your foot gets better soon.

Feltmonkey, your work is wonderful, please get it done in time

So I finally got around to it, the League table has been updated for both June and Julys challenges, a pretty close field so far across the top 11

I'm making progress, albiet slowly. Getting all the yellow and black underpaint on everything took much more time than I would have liked, although how quickly the freehand and metallics are going is kind of making up for it. It's still a tight race to see which Dread will be 100% by this Saturday for submission. Right now it's either a Leviathan or the Deredeo.

It might be a group shot though.

Some great work going on here

DV8 - Impressive progress, I probably wouldn't even finish one of those on time (and certainly not to your standard!) let alone 9
Nev - I feel your pain there, I hate painting tanks as well. Good progress so far, keep up the good work. At least the challenge deadline will help with the motivation
Tikay Fortoun - hope you found some time to get the land raider finished - nice conversion work and the paint job so far is great

I've made a little progress on mine - base coats and washes done, now for some highlighting

Good work everyone. DV8 those dreads are awesome can't believe how quickly your getting through them, looks more like a years work for me.

I think I'm done aside from base rims unless anyone can see anything I missed or could improve on.
