Do you have extra info that I'm not privy to here or something? All I see is "Preview 3. Online! Join us in 2 days. Twitch.tv". I mean, I suppose we could consider the exclamation mark as over-hype, but I'd personally think that's a bit uncharitable tbh.
@JWBS: From their Warhammer community article:
"From models you’ve been looking forward to for years to things you never even knew you wanted, this is going to be the most exciting Warhammer Preview Online so far!"
Feels like hyping to me...
That literally only says it is more exciting than the first two previews. Which many on here have said were disappointing. So that's not saying much.

Still don't understand why they are doing this. Everybody is aware that there is another preview... people even know which systems are previewed... so why try to set expectations that can't be covered by everybody (because they are subjective)? I know, I know... marketing. But still...
I don't think the real problem is the marketing-speak.
The real problem are all those weird, fake-news click-bait rumours about the Lion and 2-wound Berzerkers and 9th Ed. and Fulgrim and whatever.
I feel like a few years back when GW was still running completely silent, people were a bit more sceptical and mature in not taking everything thrown out by the rumour-trolls at face value, but for some reason people have lost that scepticism and are falling again for the trolls, projecting that stuff as expectations onto GW, instead of directing their anger at the fake-rumour-spreading lowlifes that just cook up garbage for clicks on blogs, YouTube, etc..
I mean the FW Lion is a prime example. When FW did their Heresy Curze or Lorgar or Sanguinius or Angron or whatever, nobody got "hyped" for a 40K version of those Primarch. Yet with the Lion, that false assumption was everywhere, without GW ever remotely suggesting that. All previous 40K Primarchs had dedicated teaser videos and more at least 6 months prior to their release. That "hype" and the subsequent disappointment wasn't GW's fault. That was the fault of guillable people falling for click-bait-snakesoil and spreading the fake-news online without validating sources or adding disclaimers.

This and the community itself. Forums, especially Dakka goes of in a hype circle, and explode in a all-consuming fire of hate if the self created hype isn't fulfilled, which never is the case.
And remember most of the customers aren't cruising forums, but get their news directly from WarCom.

Sure, but similarly the notion that the previews were a "big disappointment" or "grossly underperforming" or somehow "shaming GW" is also more prevalent on forums like Dakkadakka, where these fake news circle.
Not a representative sample of course, but in the WhatsApp group and on the Facebook page of my local GW store with mostly more "casual" people, etc.., the reception of the previews was also a lot more positive, perhaps because they never heard of vague 9th Ed. or Lion rumours(?).

The reason for the spread of information and mediocre announcements is that GW currently isn't releasing anything. But, they still want to keep GW in peoples mind, so slow drip it is. I'm sure once production and distribution pick back up they will return to normal announcements: and maybe even more exciting drops with this style of video platform.

I find it funny that they want to keep GW in our minds. I don't think I've managed to do so much Warhammer as I am right now. Painting figures by the dozen and managing to clock up a few hours on total war.
Looking forward to seeing some Giants today. Hopefully not just sketches.

Where are my plastic greatcoat Guard, disembarking from their plastic Thunderhawk, during the Summer of Fliers!?

This is the nightmare for GW, people realising they can keep up with the hobby without consuming the new stuff. I would say GW is quite safe so far. These previews show lots people are still kind of jumpy and scared of missing out even though the company has shut down temporarily

GW used to do releases only once a month, and usually alternating 40K and WHFB themed, though sometimes on or the other could get a two-months-in-a-row.
Not having anything new for "your game" for 2-3 months a few times each year, even if you collected literally every army, used to be the norm, entirely without Corona, lol.

Not only that but GW used to be far more focused on BIG codex and model releases. So individual armies within a game could spend YEARS waiting to see anything new. GW is far more open now to doing individual new models for armies so even if its just one new character or such; you still are more likely to get a new toy now alongside those big chunky releases that are far rarer. I think also doing more side games helps; people might have one big army, but then have an AN or a Bloodbowl or Killteam etc... other armies. So by having more side games accessible and promoted it means that there's more to interest someone who only has one big 40K army and doesn't want another, but does want to keep hobbying.

A lot of people have forgotten this, but those release slots were exactly that, a big release slot with kit support, which we don't always see now.
Having seen some newer player posts around and about, they find it odd an army doesn't get models or rules inside of a 2 year window. Admittedly if they just released a kit per army here and there to replace finecast/old kits and stopped peddling the extra books for a bit, that might breed a better environment.
Remember its not yet started this is the pre-pre where you get WArhammer music and twitch chat and often a bit of chatter once presentors turn up in advance of the release starting which then also streams through the twitch and on the GW Community website
5 minutes for the Stream to start. 20 until Preview 3 - Adeptus Boogaloo
No you can’t pinch that. I thought of it, and want to use it for a tournament team name when I don’t suck too hard for a Tourny (because I feel peeps might feel cheated beating me so easily)
Fed up of Scalpers? But still want your Exclusives? Why not join us?
Just a reminder before we get into all the previews. Have reasonable expectations for what's being shown, and don't accept rubbish either. The middle ground is what we should be expecting.

Confirmation of why no-one should listen to Kanluwen when it comes to the IG - he doesn't want the IG, he want's Kan's New Model Army...
