Are you sure you're not a member of 'Eavy Metal? Cuz you nailed it! The nice layout and closeups would look right at home on GWs website or in a codex.

Still a WIP as I've been playing catch up at work and on some other minis. It's never going to be anywhere near some of the other art in this thread but I still feel pretty good about it.

Looks good to me! Paint-wise at least. Is that head a conversion? I admit I'm not terribly familiar with all SW models yet, but it just looks the slightest bit off for some reason. Like maybe the neck is a bit longer than normal? Can't put my finger on it.

Thanks maxwin, although the sculptor receives probably more credit than me And congrats on finishing your entry, can only echo the others, great clean work. I can't get away with such close shots of my minis
And it's now two done, the navigator is also done, only the Rogue Trader left.

Yeah im messing with a new series of heads I bought online. The neck is definitely a bit off. Hard to tell when its unpainted but now that it has paint it sticks out. I think in the future I have to find a better solution to getting the necks to look better. I suppose I could re-do the head and file the neck down and reattach it... but idk how I feel about trying to fix the paint afterwards lol.

Thank you! I really appreciate the feedback. I hate the SW grey hunter standard bearer model so I wanted to make one that I like. Finecast isn't easy to work with!!!

Hmm. If you have the skill to cut the head off the model, you probably just need to shave off a mm or two of the bottom of the neck. Maybe round it off like the normal heads. If you do that, you can probably get away with just painting black over any exposed plastic/metal and sinking it beneath the neck guard line. Then it's just shadowed and should look fine. The hard part will really be getting it off without damaging anything else.

I decided it was folly. Trying to go full impressionist on character who are wearing black robes seemed like a poor choice. Trying something closer to my regular style, but with some blue inking in the skin tones at the bottoms of forms.

Making good progress on my citizens, feel like my eyes are getting more consistent now that I am doing them more often. Feedback is always welcome and appreciated.

Agreed, luck and persistence. Luckily for me, I don't have any eyes to worry about this month. Well, not on my entry, anyway...
Starting to make progress - on the right hand drone, anyway. I'm not really sure what to do about the grilles and joints on the legs and arms. If they were marines, I'd either paint them black or dull silver, but the black forearms prevent me from painting at least the elbow joints black, and I don't really like using metallics on eldar models full stop. It just doesn't feel like the kind of material they'd make extensive use of when they have wraithbone for all their construction needs. Having said that, though, I'm painting the ribbed tubes under the helmets copper/bronze... :/ Anyone have any suggestions?

We're still in progress. Finally did the line work for the majority of the model. Still need to fuss with inking the crystals and doing blood and fun small add-ons like that. Still nothing compared to some but I feel like I'm improving.

Cancelledapocalypse - how about gemstone effect for the grills on the sides of the legs. I know what you mean about the joints, maybe your brighter blue accent would work?

Thanks Jamie! Hmm, I hadn't thought of actually having a bright colour on the joints and grilles... It's certainly an idea, but it's not really in keeping with what what I'm going for, which is a ghost like drone construct tending to things like the crystal seers, or waystone burial mounds on exodite worlds... Maybe a pale blue would work, though, with a glow effect around them, or something? Like it's held together by ethereal spirits?

Yeah I usually do better on that but this time I tried my new airbrush for the first time so I accidentally screwed up my armor coating and speckled it cuz i was holding it too far away. Made the armor look like crap. Still learning how to use the airbrush but hopefully next time I'll have a better coat. Hard to figure out the right consistency.

Ah, that explains it. And I haven't even got into airbrushing yet, so I can only imagine how difficult it is learning that stuff. I'll have all that to look forward to eventually, most likely. ^_^'

Yeah honestly the hardest part is figuring out paint consistency for good blends and psi vs distance from the model. Hopefully someday I'll have better insights to share on it. For now, I'm just gonna go with where I'm at xD

Okay I think I'm just gonna let this one be where it's at for a while. Still need a better camera. First model I've actually finished painting with using my airbrush for the armor color. As usual, I welcome criticism and comments.

Making progress... the one in the back needs only some detail work, but the one in the foreground obviously has a long way to go. I think I got her from sixteen pieces down to seven? Washes are done, so on to final assembly, detail, and basing.
Well, I think I'm going to have to bow out of this round. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, I guess.
I base layered one pox walker, but haven't even finished the gore and blood.
Though, I did stage him getting curb-stomped against a rock. My idea was to have him dead at the feet of a Space Marine Captain so that he was literally supporting another character. He'd be a part of the base.
But, some stuff at home prevented a lot of work. Picked up a part-time job, and the honey-do list is a mile long getting ready for my son's graduation party that may or may not happen. But, going to the in-laws for a couple of weeks on Friday. I was hoping to have everything done before then, but it's not gonna happen and I'm not bringing hobby stuff with me.
