Please.. lets not exaggerate. We all know his most important duty is to determine the order of psyker snacks the emperor gets as well as practicing for performances of the Astropathic Choir Barbershop Quartet !

There goes that then...

Now all we've got left is to pray that the Sigilite's voice isn't as goofy as Talos' is...

The Sigilite invites Rogal Dorn to his quarters, its about as awkward as an actual visit to a retirement home.

A tease perhaps? Maybe both lost legions will get a quick reference and it will be left at that, like with the Lightning Tower.

That's be my guess.

The story of the Lost Legions is a cash cow that GW/BL will milk AFTER the HH Cow has run dry!

Personally I'd like it to remain something of a mystery, but that is, as pointed out in the previous thread, an idiotic motion. The actual cash cow will be the Scouring that BL is already planning for whenever the Heresy has run its course. Which is pretty soon really, maybe a dozen or so novels to go before it is all over now.

So these Ebook short stories. Will they remain ebook short stories forever? Why is BL making it so hard fo rme to know what's going on in the heresy?

Anything you know that I may like to know too about that number?
I am not unaware of the point of no return, and I did notice were come pretty far to the end of the Heresy era....

Even if they were near the end of the Heresy I'd expect the battle at the Palace to take a year's worth of books to tell, let alone the follow up stories. After all there are the stories of how Russ and Corax leave their legions as well as the rise to daemonhood of some of the traitor Primarchs.

As for the Sigilite, as it's an audio CD I expect it to be short and therefore not terribly revealing. I am curious about why his throne has their skulls on it or their implied skulls. Perhaps it was he as the assassin who killed them on behalf of the Emperor. I mean why else would the Primarchs pay him such respect. I mean their manners only go so far and while in the Emperor's presence they might be cordial I don't think they would have so much respect away from the Emperor himself. It would of course make perfect sense if the y knew it was he who killed their brothers and that he were capable of killing them if it came to it. Anyway I'm sure it will be an amusing enough aside featuring the man himself.

I can't say I'm impressed with the cover, it reminds me of the cinematics from Diablo 2. There is a place for digital art in GW but this is too clean for my tastes.

I'm not sure the battle of the palace takes a years worth of books. The Drop Site massacre was like 50 pages and it involved more Legions.

That was when Dorn was all like "The Emperor's Palace will be completed on schedule", and the Sigillite was all like "You've done well, Rogal. And now I sense you wish to continue your search for young Skywalker?". I really don't think I could stand to listen to a whole audiobook of bad Emperor Palpatine impressions. I've come to quite like the audiobooks actually, despite the price (I've taken to halving the cost with a friend of mine, and then we both import the contends of the CD to our respective mp3 players, so we both have a copy at half the regular price. Makes the price seem like less of a bump).

Maybe I'm thinking of the first Garro audiobook? I remember some particularly naff Sigillite voice acting anyway.

Maybe. For some reason Toby Longsworth doesn't keep the same voice for characters he's doing multiple times

Fear to Tread is up for download today with the BL app...
angels & demons in 30k!!!
i started the prologue last night...
this is gonna be good...

finished The Emperor's Gift...
AD-B has done it again...
this book has something for everyone...
all subjects that have been touched on by previous authors, but with none of the visceral realism of AD-B...
he handled the Wolves better than Abnett or Wraight...
by far my favorite depiction of them yet...

every other novel is on the back burner now...
Fear to Tread is too juicy to wait...

cheers

Have to agree with your opinion on A D-B's Wolves - he got them right, and brought them back to how they 'should' be portrayed and how they should be seen by the rest of humanity in 40K.

I've never really had any criticism of the Wolves in Prospero Burns/Thousand Sons and Battle of the Fang (but the less said about the Space Wolf Omnibi the better), but ADB really captured the side of the Wolves I love most; the unconventional, non-conforming heroes.

I loved Bill King's Space Wolf stories. They weren't quite as grim and gritty as today's 40K stories, but they were a d*** sight better than most early BL. Execution Hour excepted, of course.

And I enjoyed both Abnett's and Wraight's take on the Legion as well. But I agree that ADB captured them most effectively in a pretty tight window.

Exactly!

That alone would have been an impressive accomplishment - but that was just the cherry on top of the awesome sundae that is...THE EMPEROR'S GIFT.

Of course, it is also strongly implied (or was it outright said?) that the Grey Knights get their

trust me, i have loved the Wolves since Bill King's fluff in the first Wolves codex...
i enjoyed the Ragnar novels (even though loads of people didn't)...
i enjoyed Prospero Burns, and Battle of the Fang...

none of these works were any better than i expected them to be...
when i read A D-B, for some reason, i'm just smiling and saying to myself, "that is so freakin' cool"...
he brings the unexpected...
in Hellsreach, the russian style Stormtrooper was my favorite character...
a great, unexpected character, that really brings you into a novel...
there is one big guy in The Emperor's Gift that did the same again, whoever's read it surely knows who i'm talking about...

i'm looking forward to Priests of Mars, as i have a lot of love for Graham, but there is no way i can pass up Sanguinius for some silly Cogboys...
back to Fear to Tread...

cheers

edit: haha, you guys spilled the beans on Bjorn...
seriously, i was grinning like a kid at christmas when he showed up, and man, was he ever a bad mamajama...
love it...
makes me wanna bust out that hunk of lead and paint him up...

I don't know if it was an ADB creation or from the Codex, but I loved the quote (from the Emperor) at the beginning.
