I'm still waiting on my order from October. Hasn't even left processing yet.

Otherwise I probably would've grabbed a few more bits.

Still waiting on those exoskeleton wearing troopers they previewed for their cyberpunk game as well....

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Same. Turns out Artel was ill, hence, the delay.

A bit disappointed with the customer service - it wouldn't take much to ask a friend to send out a notification of delay.

I received two orders from Artel, both about....25-30 days total from order to arrival in the US. I know that doesn't help anyone, but they were both small orders. Definitely not a fast service, but looking forward to the minis (one was a gift).

Sorry, friend. It`s harder, than you think, though.
Still, that`s my fault and I apologize for it.

FWIW, I had to wait for my package (almost two months) as I ordered during another busy season but it was worth the wait. I figured they only did the fancy rope tied purity seal thing for big wigs like youtube channels and such but even a garden variety gamer like myself got the special packaging. It was even better inside when I looked at the casting quality.... lookin' at you moth eaten mould linin' flash haloing Forgeworld!

Surely that's the way they intended it to be built, yes?

Quite possibly. Resourcing is tough at the best of times. Fair enough comment.

Um, isn't his sword hand backwards? It's like his wrist is rotated almost a full 180deg from where it's supposed to be; the knuckles should be out, not in.

It’s not a natural pose but it is biomechanically feasible. It’s a kind of taunting flourish that renaissance duellists might use to feign being wide open. Just think “palm up” and it makes more sense. The frilly cuff is hiding a lot too.

With the blade in that position the only way he could be holding it is supinated, or palm up.

Yeah, that's definitely a palm-up pose.

You guys must have some incredibly flexible wrists if you can simultaneously have your elbow angled outwards, arm mostly extended, the back of your hand rotated past parallel with the ground, and the gripped object pointing straight away from you.

Give it a shot. I couldn't replicate the arm pose and sword position (just grabbed a ruler) unless I let my hand be palm-down. Trying it palm-up and I had to either rotate my elbow in or pull my hand back towards my body, and either way it was still a strain to get the "sword" at the same angle.

Indeed, you can actually see the knuckles pointing down and the thumb up. Very usual pose for épeé fencing:

The one of the mini looks like a variant of the salute pose:

Spoiler:

Love the pose, btw. The only thing that looks kind of weird is that the guard should be on the other side of the hand.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

His elbow isn't angled outwards though, not very much anyway. I can replicate that pose easy enough, and I'm certainly not a particularly flexible person.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

I'm pretty sure that the knuckle guard is on the correct side if he is palm-up, it just isn't in line with the blade like its supposed to be.

As for the diagrams: there's some really important differences. Those guys have their arms almost straight out from their side, the elbow is straight (or nearly straight for the salute), and their hands are above their shoulders. This allows for inwards rotation of the elbow and an easier palm-up orientation. The model has a notably bent elbow which appears to be turned slightly outward and a more front pointing arm with hand at-or-slightly-below his shoulder. All of that combines to decrease the amount that the wrist can roll over.

In the diagrams the sword is also only really held by the front fingers and a more forward pointing thumb which allows the tip to drop down and the handle to come up away from the palm. This decreases the twist angle on the wrist (notice how the salute guy's palm is at around 30deg) where as the model appears to have a closed fist whose palm is basically parallel to the ground.

So I'm still of the opinion he's got to be packing bionics for that pose to work.

I have hypermobile joints in my shoulders, elbows, and wrists and I can't replicate that pose as I see it *shrug*.

Anyways, that's the last post on this for me, don't want to stray off into the weeds.

Here’s a better image. I think the angle of the render is making us think the elbow is further out than it is.

Its quite a relaxed "come at me" guard. If you were using it for real then your hand would be across to the left of your body with the blade covering you.

As others have said the render makes the elbow out of joint. I am able to replicate most of the pose with a military sabre and use that sort of posture with Rapier
