So..According to the FW Masterclass book, the camo netting is soaked in PVA, then laid onto the model wet, strips of masking tape glued on, then painted on the tank. I'm thinking that it should be painted before attaching to the tank eh?

Well, I've never used this bandage method before, So I dunno... I'm thinking that if I at least airbrushed the bandage the base color (I am thinking Steel Legion Drab <formerly known as graveyard earth> perhaps?) it shouldn't be a problem for the PVA-soaking phase right?

i wouldn´t to this... maybe use plastic wrap as a means of protection for your tank... then add the soaked bandage as you see fit... let it dry out through and through and then later on get every thing off the tank again and paint it as you want it...

It's got the right scale, that is for sure
 Automatically Appended Next Post: What if I soak the bandage in a wash or ink or dye or something, then let it dry, completely..It should still soak fine? no?

well depends... if the mix is not right and you have too much PVA on one point it gets all gobby and stays that way...
but believe me... even cheapo paints stick well enough to dired PVA.-.. remember my priate ship?

Usually it is strips of heavay clothe or nylon. Of later versions, though it was a sheet of nylon with a wavy pattern cut into it in a certain pattern. So that only little bits dangled off at the odd angle here and there. There is also usually a camoflauged pattern dyed into the nylon but depending on terrain it can be a mono color (ie. desert).

in RL when in service i hated camo netting... it is most disgusting... the feel...the stink... urgh... urgh indeed... and when you have to build it up... everything that was stored inbetween... the reall leaves and stuff...it all fell down on you... *yikes*

the paint after is to allow more complicated weathering... but to my understanding is actually kind of optional.
