Hehe, I knew it would be new Ghosts when they dropped the hint about "beloved characters" yesterday, very nice.

Only six models is a pain, can’t even use then as a veteran squad. But they are six very nice models.

I always thought Bragg used a heavy bolter , not an auto an on?

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.

These seem to be models for Tanith pre-destruction, so I'm guessing Bragg uses an autocannon in the prequel.

These look great and they whet the appetite even more for the potential that a series of new and updated plastic Guard infantry units have.

Like they show every alternative weapon when they show new models? Oh wait they don't.

Bragg used both, heavy bolter and autocannon. Just depended on which book.

Dan Abnett’s new novel takes us back to the earliest days of Ibram Gaunt and the Tanith First, where you’ll learn about a dark secret that’s haunted them ever since.

This mega limited edition includes a beautifully bound copy of the book itself, plus a whole host of extras. You’ll find a pair of maps, a cap pin, coins, art, a metal memory box, and loads more. Also included is a datasheet with rules to use Gaunt’s Ghosts in your games of Warhammer 40,000.

Tanith's gone at that point, it's just something that Bragg did a few times with autocannons rather than Heavy Bolters.

Pre-destruction? Of what? Homeworld? Before that only action tanith has was training. The planet was destroyed when they were getting ready to leave for first mission.

Bragg has used various heavy weapons including missile launchers in the books.

Definitely more a collector/painter set.
So many officers and senior NCOs, and nothing to really mesh with, army-wise.

it is not about how easy the conversion is but how many models we should expect, as if this is only 1 option there won't come more to make it a full unit for 40k (but I think I will still get them as it makes a nice Strike Team for Deadzone)

We should expect exactly what was shown, why would you assume there is more coming? Didn't they also mention they would get rules for 40k?

Because there were more named characters for the unit and also the original metal ones had more different models

so it is more about which timeframe the box is set if we can expect characters form other books or not
if there are no options for other weapons, than no there won't be more (if there are options, there might be an expansion coming soon)

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I'm not seeing it. BL related miniature releases are usually one-offs, but it would be nice if this one turns out to be an exception.

Not really - the last few (Sly Marbo, Eisenhorn, Severina Raine, etc.) are still in stock and orderable from third-parties. The "Commemorative Series" releases have been one-offs.

I meant one-offs in the sense that they are not followed up by further releases from the same series.

I think they meant 1 offs as in, there aren’t the whole cast of Eisenhorn available as miniatures.

I'm disappointed they didn't get an infantry kit, I miss my Tanith army from 3rd ed. Didn't play it much as people DESPISED playing against it. Every single model infiltrated, an entire infantry gun-line that set up after the opponent (back in the days of alternating unit deployment) and +1 cover saves in a time where such a thing was unheard of.

That army literally put food on my table when the economy tanked and I lost my job 10 years ago, sold it piece-by-piece for a crazy amount over the course of a year or so, those female Tanith models were going for $25 to $30 each on ebay.

I've thought about rebuilding it with Victoria Miniatures, but I know I'd never paint it. 6 plastic models tho, I can paint 6 plastic models. Maybe turn it into a Kill Team. Going to need to sculpt some berets on them again

People that expect more Tanith should take into account that those are BL collectibles, essentially GW's own funko pops (they got the proportions!) not a 40k release.
