Standard bearer is massively improved, and that's a fantastic pose you've got going on! Good choice of head for ferocity, I think, and the tubework you've done is really cohesive.

As for the ogryn -

Love love love the mask, all the tubes and cloth suit him perfectly. Your GS work is amazing as always - don't think I've seen you tackle that much musculature before though. Ace job! They look great as a bunch!

Liking the watermarks too - a professional touch!

He still seems to be lacking something though... Hmmm... Give me a few minutes.

Fixed it for you!

Doesn't that feel... safer somehow?

And, as a side note - he's still got a chaos star on his belt plates. Just in case you'd missed it!

Yep, great looking command group there neil

Really like what you did with the ogryn, I think the mask looks great, and obviously I love the cabling Good work on the re-sculpt too.

Think Scarper's onto something with the beard/sweater combo though, that's a vital bit of wargear right there.

you think the work on the ogryn might have caused the chest infection....man.... now you frightened me good for further work with resin....this shooves me even more into the realm of carboard work...urgh....i hope you are feeling better tho now...

the ogryn is really serious looking.... if i had to be in the same team as that abomination ...i wouldn´t be searching for enemies anymore.... him would suffice^^ he is packing some fiecre punch i would think.,...

the group shot is so cineastic yet again...like a star wars movie poster^^...you truly are a kid of the 70s/80s generation^^

and that beard and sweater somehow gets me some vibes of king cracker some how...dunno why... he certainly doensn´t wear those^^

as for the doc... would you mind showing him to us?... sounds like he did a selfexperiment and now look like frankensteins monster...^^

keep well mate

Hello again

Thanks for all the feedback peeps , its appreciated

@Speedfreak Thanks matey i do however only have one Ogryn just lots of pics of him

@Shazo Cheers shazo !

@Viktor Von Domm well vik you are getting pretty damn good at cardboard work , i don't have your patience to be honest , i marvel at how you can create a tank from nothing, and then even add all the details , hats off to you sir wanted a grimdark feel for this ogryn like he is in the process of being corrupted but doesn't know why or how, and yep i am truly a boy of my time , that pose reminds me of several iconic film posters, i will probably make a diorama stand for them when done. here is the medic in all his glory i killed him with too much paint and sloppy green stuff work ..
Spoiler:

@Dteingass

@monkey cheers monks gotta love those 40k cables, are the ones you bought pewter ?

@moltar Cheers Mate tbh i was very unsure of his pose , a bit too static after the movement of the original, and he is quite tricky to photograph ,, so glad you like him mate.

@GiraffeX Thanks mate , well all except the ,medic.. curses! gonna try and give them a cool scenic base when done , was thinking the broken aquilla or some such ?

@scarper methinks i got a taste of my own medicine, i have to admit he looks much more approachable this way , and i am seriously tempted to do a re sculpt now
your right about the muscles , its the first time , i think i messed them up though , they looked pretty good until i base coated them. i should probably invest in those clay shapers tbh
although i don't think this model was ever intended to have an arm and he looks too top heavy with one , but never mind lesson learnt. as for the water marks still not sure about them as they make it look a bit too serious , must do GDCK to make up for that

thanks for all the comments folks , so i spent some time trying to paint the Ogryn , trying to learn some new techniques since i only know the basics , gonna try out chipping on his Armour plate and some blended highlights on his skin and maybe some tats ? would certainly appreciate critical feedback , don't be kind as i know this is my weakest part of the hobby and i am really gonna tr and do the command guys justice if i can learn patience I popped into gw yesterday and tried to take on some advice about skin tones ,i left thinking that i need darker shadows and generally more contrast , i was unsure of the colour scheme for the whole cohesive bunch but decided after a rather large even by my standards research trawl of images , to go with light grey dark grey black white muted green and red for accents mainly grey and black with red spot colours though. because i was late to the party deciding , i went ahead and started the ogryn with purple and blue , skin only to have to repaint him grey . although he still needs highlighting something i have never done before any advice on the painting side would be apreciated folks especially highlighting and shading grey ?

Still loving your little colour boards. Definitely not just inspiration for yourself, i am sure anyone looking at those would be inspired, me included. Great minis so far, looking forward to some painting think it will really show off the conversion work. I might also recommend some gryscaling of the fotos as the lurid colour of greenstuff tends to obscure detail.

Helloooo! its me again

finally fished the Ogryn pretty pleased with most parts of him , i did really try and take my time , it was sooo difficult , and i have a new found respect for all you brilliant painters out there , who can wait and do something properly , how it should be done. those brilliant weathering techniques and skillfull blending i have seen you all render so faithfully true.
Well i really did have a break through moment when painting him , i realized that i have never actually blended up a or lightened a colour with out dry brushing or if i did i didnt really know why i was doing it ,i was always scared of making a model look too cartyoony , now i realize you need a lot of boldness in colour to the minis as well as thin paints
any way enough of that ..thanks for the comments folks hope you enjoyed the reference art, i know i did

@Cheers perky , nice to see you on dakka again, i will definatley take note of the gretyscaling green stuff pics in the future mate, good tip glad you enjoyed the images, wish i could paint like that .

@lillooser
Hey LL , i have problems with learning ,because i think i know everything not really but i do have problems grasping fairly basic ideas , i am just a big slacker to be honest i know i should really push my self , but i just think meh..! most times . well that and i have no impulse control for starting new projects and not finishing anything i have started properly.
glad you like the mini , i was very unsure of his pose , still am really , just got fed up of trying to find obne that worked better than the mechanical arm.

@Rogue wolves Thanks Rogue I was going to try the pale deathly look more DE than ogryn , but that looked too chaos tbh , then i noticed some ogryns in GW that were painted in this skin tone , its a mix of ermm. i forget i wrote down the recipe somewhere will check later sorry

@Victor Yep all brain and no brawn the Ogryn and the doc is a gonna ..MEDIC!!

@Shazo funny you should ay that i just swapped the medic for a new commissar update coming soon

so here are the pics .. the bases probably still needs some work and i know there are a few mold lines bloody bloody hell pretty proud of the veins on his arms and back though thanks for looking folks

whoa... i have to say i get a slight vibe from some videogames from that ogryn...like a tad resident evil cobbled with some duke inside^^ i rellay like the gasmask... that bleached leather style is very cool looking... reminds me of fallout...somehow...

the blood on the blade is very good looking...will this model count as a bone`ead? i think the gear and look fully provide that position!
the pose has it all... the :" come and git some more..." and the humiliation of the casulaity beneath his feets...like a trophy of a hunter but with a even more carless feel to it...he is litterally stepping over someones lifeless corpse...a killer and he is only heading forwards...by the way... talking about corpses... where is that one from... i wouldn´t be too surprised if you did some serios coverting on that guy to make him look tallarn...

a very good work and as other stated as well you really shouldn´t humble your paintstyle...since your early pics i think your skills have vastly improved and this should be recognized even by you! *stamps feet*

Aye up dak dak

Thank you for all the supportive comments , it was a real pleasure to read and i felt really proud that you guys like him, Its really nice to get positive feedback when your proud of something

@Dsteingass Thanks matey really appreciate you taking time to comment.

@Bigfish cheers ,glad you like the big smurf.

@Scarper look he took off his jumper because his mum bought him it for xmas and he doesn't want to get blood on it and rest assured he has a full beard under that mask.
Thanks mate, i did really try not to be lazy on him though i got a bit slack towards the end. the veins were painted on then washed over when dry with light layers of paint to subdue them. will do a tut if you really want mate.

@Giraffex , yep hes pretty grim , probably barbecue he shares his quarters with a half goat man

@Monkey .. Guff .. ( looks around )..Me lol , its all a ruse i really have several golden deamons resting at my feet as i type .. hang on a min.. no.. not deamons .. grotlings!.. bloody hell monkey keep em on a lead mate.
cheers mate, i did have a eureka moment with regards to lightening , and shading though , still need plenty of practice of weathering , and lets not forget this mini is a bit of a monster in figure terms

@Rogue wolves Thanks mate , i messed up a fair few times , but fortunately i had kept the paint thin enough to do a few more layers of correcting

@Bebopdrums2424 Thanks bebop.. cool name

@Vik well he kinda reminds me of rogue trooper to be honest , not intentional though. but it is a good colour choice him. The tallern is actually a tallern an injured one from ebay like the pretorian guys

now no more feet stomping , or i shall have to set my ogryn on you mate, and he doesn't take kindly to threats especially if he has his jumper on. My paint style is grotty and dirty ,(john blanche is my art hero ) but i have always being jealous of people who have a tight/smooth style , not that i would wish to change just , be able to do both to be honest, but i guess that's where patience and practice comes in. thanks for the kind words matey.

@monkey I think i might have calmed him down .. quick get the super glue on his boots before he moves again

Thanks all again for the encouraging words peeps.

Here are few ideas i had when building the Ogryn
