All you guys have to do to assist with the plan is keep on buying the new toys!
I plan on making a go at that in the New Year. Merry Christmas to those at Anvil! May you keep giving me the ability to make a squad of Thunder Warriors!

Got my robbed torsos's and legs at my shop in osaka last Saturday, there were tiny bubbles in some of the heels of some of the legs, easily fixed with some greenstuff.
The only gripe i have is that the block resin attached to the torso's and legs is more than the parts themselves,
Is there any way possible to change the process to not have so much resin attached to the parts? Looks like a lot of waste material.
The other thing is the raven helmet seems to be a bit small when put on the medieval torso.
Ending on a good note, the Flamethrower looks great!

@Melkson
thanks for posting the photos! Gritty camo is something Ive not experimented with on Steam Lords but it really works!
Glad you are happy with the parts!
@Jehan-Reznor
Thanks for your feedback. Generally we will let the occasional bubble through if its in a "hard to see" area, but on a more obvious area we'd replace the part.
Do you mean that the resin parts are attached by thin "gates" to a larger triangular block of resin? You should have had no difficulty removing the parts from the sprue - which we sometimes leave on if its easier to ship that way.
The large resin "sprue" is something we try to minimize but its a normal part of the resin production process - if there isnt enough resin in the mould, it makes the formation of bubbles more likely (a simplified explanation) so to ensure the best possible parts, we allow plenty of excess.
The scale of the helmets is down to personal taste I think- I will try to get some more photos up showing the various helmets in use on miniatures.
If you don’t want to use the helmets email me and I will issue a refund for those parts.
Glad you like the Flame thrower
General Announcements -
Im back home and have Internet again - awesome. We will be working hard to ship out all orders from the 2nd jan onward and we should be fully back to normal by Monday 7th.
If you've placed an order - thanks for your patience!
I spent a good chunk of Christmas day working on some new bionic legs (dont feel bad for me - this is my hobby as well!) which should be available quite early in January, along with the new Steam Lord legs, which I will be posting some concept designs for in the next few days.
Cheers,
Joel

Here you go, WIP CAD.
Initially I will release small and medium sizes - each sprue will contain some complete assembled leg sets, plus some "poseable" bits to make bionic leg conversions to existing minis.
"Large" size bionic will follow on at some point.
Any feedback welcome as I can still make changes to the design at this point.
Cheers,
Joel

Looks great, except the 'toes' seem a little short - I'd have thought a replacement leg would have a longer foot in the forwards direction, if only because us humans are used to our feet being like that. (Side and back mini-toes seem fine, giving added stability.) Hmm, and if you do make the forward foot/toes longer, actually dividing them into a foot and a toe joint at the end would be even better.
Is this a back view? - looks like a knee seen from a back angle?
Since you're doing this as CAD, I presume it will be pretty easy for you to make standing/walking/sitting/bent knee/kneeling knee variants - that will certainly make 'I hate models with repeated poses' customers happy Ooh, and maybe also a more crouched walking pose, suitable for cyborks?

I'd agree with Clang there. Perhaps have 2-3 versions of the feet and legs so people can choose one look that they like as uniform, or mix things up.
Purely by way of an example, bionic limbs in the Warhammer 40k range vary quite a bit between models, and it fits their ethos, as might it also fir the Steam Lords ethos as you have a variety of different types of armour that can be combined in different ways.

I my self like the toe set up and with it all being the same size works, the only issue I have is the length of the leg looks a little stumpy, which format of troops is this designed for?
Maybe a view from the other side would help, and optional feet is a good idea I hope some of these will make it to normal human scale not super enhanced steroid junkies

I like it! Matches well with the bionic arms.
Also, the legs should not be hard to chop up and repose. I made a kneeling guy just the other week.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the feedback.
this is the back view. There are two feet I've desiged, the square one shown, and a "normal" foot with bionic toes.
Both will be supplied as options.
There will be plenty of posing options, Depending on how easy it is to stick them together, Ill probably do a whole set of Bionic legs for Steam Lords, so with the bionic rifle arms people can make whole mechanical robots.
@LDD - this one shown is for Steam Lords, hence quite chunky, there is another scaled down version for Regular humans which will be released at the same time
These bionic legs are a bit experimental and if it works (confident it will) I will be redoing the Steam Lord legs, infact all my legs, using 3D printed peices which slot toether much quicker and easier.
This should mean the new Steam Lord leg range will include more poses AND more armour styles.
@Commander Cain - looking great! Chopped up a running pair right?
Cheers,
Joel

Well that is cool news glad you are thinking about the little guys I have to say I will take a set of the larger ones as well I might use them for an Ork conversion
However I have to say after seeing that camo patterned steroid fiend I might just make a few of them for fun
Keep up the hard work Joel

1000 posts! That's an impressive milestone of sorts!
Sorry for the relative lack of updates recently, we've been working hard to get the Christmas orders all shipped out, but that is now complete and we are back to normal shipping schedule. This hopefully means I can get on with the new stuff.
Projects which are all simultaneously on the "Do ASAP" list -
Small and medium Scale Bionics
Small Bionic rifle arms - then regular fatigue arms
scaled down rifles to fit smaller arms
New Steam Lord Legs
So @emperor bacon, the honest answer is "not sure, but soon"
If its the replacement medieval legs you are after, im doing those first, so hopefully 2-3 weeks away. The other new styles of legs will turn up after all the smaller guns and arms as I know a lot of people are wanting those!
Regarding Female components for regular infantry models, these will be included as part of that range - although at 28mm scale the difference between a male and female arm is pretty negligible so Id probably just be doing alterative torsos and heads, not sure yet.
Cheers,
Joel

nha not the medieval ones i ment by the recent picture since because of the more newer forge world termies i would have liked to make them look more veterans seeing as i dont think they would have become veterans like these unharmed and about the female parts guess they might not come before guess 3 years or somthing from now on or atleast after the store have filled the section for more human parts
ps. wait witch one was the 1000nd post?

Hey Joel, my package arrived this morning. Super fast delivery again, think it was late Thursday night that I ordered. And the little thin boxes you are using now are great. Also, first time I've seen your sniper rifles first hand, they're just great. Only wish that I had more opportunity to use more of them.
Good work again.

@Emperor Bacon, Ah ok, the bionic legs, the small and medium will be out in 1-2 weeks, the larger ones, comparable in scale to terminators, will be done at some point in the next few months, but are not an immediate priority.
I think Lone Dirty Dog made the 1000th post.. no prizes im afraid!!
@Jehan, ok thanks for the feedback! Im also looking forward to the new stuff, there are projects ive been wanting to start on now for more than a year!!
@Alanmckenzie - great, glad it all turned up ok, We are still using Jiffy bags for most orders, but the thin boxes are a usefull addition as they provide extra protections for the more fragile components/larger orders, and still fit through a letter box!

I have to say that I'm loving the revised bits. Using the CAD makes everything clean and crisp. And Bionic legs that can be posed for left or right is beautiful. I'll be able to build my Nathaniel Garro model!

@Peredyne, The bionic legs need a hip joint so are not fully left/right like the arms, but the sprue will obviously contain both left and right legs!
@Andilus Greatsword - you are very welcome to post photos of Santa in this thread.
In general, anyone is welcome to post any photos of Anvil Industry models/component parts in use.
Finnishing the Bionic legs off today, so Im hoping to release them by the end of next week if I can get them printed in time.

Anvil, do you or anyone else here by any chance have a picture of your "double tap" twin carbine on a more human (guardsmen or similar) type of model?
I've been trying to figure out forever how to do less out of proportion storm bolter acolytes, and it looks like your twin carbine might fit the bill, but I'm unsure if it's much smaller than a traditional gw stormbolter.
Any help you/others could offer on here is much obliged, if they work I'd be looking for in the neighborhood of ~75 of them.
Thanks!

It is far too late for me to be shooting pics right now but I own one of the twin carbines and can say that it is a pretty decent scale for guardsmen. A SM stormbolter is far chunkier whereas the twin carbine is a fair bit smaller. I will try to get a pic tomorrow after I am done of my uni classes for you!
Of course, you may just want to wait and see if Anvil releases that gun in an even smaller scale in the next few months!
