Assembled the Kaddar Nova. Dude is biiig.

Had a play with the leg pairings from the sprue to give him a walking pose.

And started shaping the wing 'bones' on Mr Flappy...

And I have to say, I am just blown away by the detail on this kit. Some very cunning parts break-downs have allowed for an incredible level of detail for a plastic model, and the way he slots together means that most of the seams just disappear.

Very, very impressed, and I want to buy more of this guy just so I can build him a dozen different ways...

I wonder if such tiny models would be better with thin brass rod to hold em up. Those flying bases+stems seem overly massive.

They are pretty big when viewed from above - the wide stem and base is necessary to ensure good balance and prevent them being knocked over in game.

The problem with brass rod is that it bends. And I actually find it more obtrusive than chunkier clear stems, due to being solid.

As Lego pointed out, once the models are painted and on the table rather than featuring front-and-centre in a close-up photo, the flight stems will be much less distracting.

Not sure about more yet... This one was just an experiment to see how the hat would look.

Well, even that could be considered a slouch hat if you wanted it to be. They were worn "brim down" more often than not in theatre. It's almost just a matter of painting it felt green rather than leather brown.

Would GW heads fit on a Kaddar Nova? Specifically, I am interested in the Empire Wizard head with the Egyptian mask.

Assembled a unit of Firefly drones. Nothing particularly ground-breaking here... Swapped out the hex-bases for 25mm, for consistency, drilled some of them out so that they sit wonky on the flight stem, and added one of the 'spare' guns from the sprue into one drone as an antenna, to denote the squad leader in game.

Building Fireflies of course leaves a bunch of leftovers on the sprue... What to do, what to do?

Build a sentry gun, of course!

Just from eyeballing it, as it's been a while since I had the wizard kit in hand, but yeah, that should work.

Ok Mr Hat is awesome. You have some pretty drastic conversions going on and they are all awesome but for some reason I really like that hat. Nice work!
