Hey Guys (Beforehand, pardon my English I'm dutch but I try).

Just wanted to share my little Scratchbuild/kitbash project from the nightly hours of the past 6 (!) Months!
It is a Necron Monstrous Creature based on the Rules from the Tau Riptide.

With all the huge and impressive models coming up lately (Like the Imperial Knights and the Gork/morkanauts) I really wanted one for my Necron Army!
Since Necrons are mostly shooty I looked for a model from a Shooty army and ofcourse immediately thought of the Tau Riptide!

With the FW model of the Tesseract Arc that uses the Singularity core of a Dying star, to me it really connected to the Riptide's Nova powers!

Here's the Fluff:
As is well known, the Praetorians are responsible for maintaining the Triarch's rule as to ensure that wars and politics are always executed according to the ancient codes. They also have the high responsibility to ensure that the Necron Dynasties will never fall.
To make sure this will be done, they enacted their rights to enforce their will over the Crypteks in a time aeons past. They expressed their need for an engine that is both Mobile and wields a destructive array of weaponry. The Triarch Tesseract War Engine, as all Necron well know, being the end result of that research.
Still, to this day, all Necrons acknowledge (some would even say fear) the awesome power that only the Praetorians may field, to ensure the ancient codes are upheld.

Like the Tesseract arc that the Crypteks had but recently created, the Triarch Tesseract War Engine, harnesses at its heart a contained singularity torn from the core of a dying star. Thought it differs from the Necron Tesseract Arc. This ancient construction doesn't wield its raw energies as a weapon, but rather employes it as an engine and uses its energy to power its fearsome array of weaponry, equipment, and trusters.

I also made some experimental rules, which I think are pretty fair, let me know if you want to review them

Anyway! Pictures!

This is the model

Here is its Canoptek Shield Drone (YAY)

Hope you like it! Let me know if you want to see more.

........"Ol' Toothless" as she has come to be known is ancient even by the standards of the Imperial Guard. Retro-fitted and re-built countless times over countless centuries, the only thing still intact from the day she rolled off the production line on a long forgotten forgeworld is her machine spirit!

Rumour has it amongst the regiment, that infact her superstructure and engines designations can be traced back to the times of the Great Crusade itself and one of its many Expaditionary fleets..... however this is up for speculation. It does however still invoke a sense of pride in the regiment that such a relic of the Imperium is within their ranks.

Time has not however been kind to Ol Toothless.... retired from front line service 2 centuries ago, it is her lot now to serve the Emperor by acting as a pack horse for the regiment.... gun ports welded up and ammunition racking replaced with storage. Her once imperious outline blurred with racking and carrier spaces, she now feeds the mighty war machine she once upon a time speadheaded.

To think such a mighty weapon layed low is a travesty however would be a mistake. Numerous platoons of troopers and stranded armour units owe their lives to the venerable machine. On more occasions that can be easily counted, these trapped or cut off units have offered up prayers to the Emperor himself as they have heard the din and racket of ancient engines as Ol Toothless emerges through the heavies of gunfire and weather to re-supply them. Never becoming stuck in trecherous terrain and having an uncanny knack of absorbing shell hits that would destroy equivalent vehicles, she has endured and continues to serve, even after all trace of her beginnings have been lost in time.......

I hope you all like it.... my scratchbuilt Malcador Defender / Supply / Recovery tank.....

First pic is just the basecoated model... and the second is with the hull weathered and finished..... still got a bit to go to get finished!

Cheers All.....

Don't let the stickiness discourage you. it can be countered by applying lubrication (water, vaseline, saliva ) in a thin layer over your sculpting tool.
This way you can take advantage of the sticky, using it to hold and shape the GS to whatever surface you want meanwhile your tool remains frictionally minimal

An acquaintance of mine, a very talented commission sculptor, told me that Talcum powder works quite well to counteract the stickiness of green stuff. Coat the side that you need to work on with powder, then when you're done just lick your finger and wipe away the powder.

Also, I hate using water for sculpting. I find that it gets under the greenstuff between it and the plastic/metal, and lubricates it so that it separates from the miniature.

Not exactly a difficult conversion. Almost no sculpting involved. It's based on this fig from Reaper.

Hi everyone!

After a year of reading this thread I finally decided to make an account and post my own conversions. I don't have many of them and they are not masterpieces but I really think that it would be good to show them to you.

I'll start with my biggest conversion so far, and I'm quite proud of it. This is a converion of the Dark Vengeance Hellbrute in the colours of the Thousand Sons. All I have done is replacing multimelta with twin linked reaper autocannon, head of the marine inside, and cutting most of the horns and these tentacles. The helmet is made from standard SM helmet, I cutted a T shaped visor to make it look a bit like manadlorian helmet form Star Wars

Well, that's all I've got for you now. I can post something more if you liked it :3

cheers!

I've only been involved with Warhammer Fantasy (or any miniatures for that matter) for 18 months or so after my oldest son got interested in it. My son plays Skaven and I decided to go with Warriors of Chaos. I liked the fluff about Kholek so I thought I would have a go a making a model for him and then base an army around him.

I used the body of a Lizardmen Carnosaur and the torso of a Beastmen Ghorgon. I made the heavy armour out of plasticard and then bulked it out with green stuff. The shoulder pads are from an Ogre Kingdom Stonehorn, his chest plate is from a WOC chariot, and his "belt" is from an Ogre Kingdoms Scraplauncher. I ground off the Lizardmen symbols on the tail and replaced them chaos symbols.

I thought that since Kholek was supposed to be ancient that I would give his armour a really grimy weathered look, like he has been hibernating for a long time. It was my first go at weathering and I'm pretty pleased how it turned out.

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
