That is a beautiful figure you did there. I'm not a huge privateer fan, the style is just not my thing, but I wish you the best of luck .

OH-I Wanna get out of here

Your paint style paired with the nmm works very well. Good luck brother. It would be cool to see it go from me suggesting sending a few things your way to it being a legit job.

Love the catch phrase and the nose, that made me smile

Really awesome to see the Skorne model revealed, best of luck in the interview!! I think they'd be crazy to pass you up, that model is so beautiful!

Thanks for the well wishes, guys. It's stupidly exciting... Just glad I made it this far!

@Archer: While i dont plan on stopping taking commissions, pace will be slowed from pre-employment days. So really like what it is now (Slow, but steady!). I dont think Privateer would care if I did other peoples projects in my spare time. So long as it didnt directly negatively effect my performance, I dont see an issue.

But thats all still a long way off- I've more than enough to keep me busy for the time being, haha!

Awesome. Wear a shirt and tie.

Kill it on the interview. Don't be afraid to tell them you are awesome. I know you are humble, but that ain't paying no bills.

Do your research. Make sure you will be able to do commissions. Some employers will not want you to be promoting (or making money in the same business) for their competitors. Even if it's a hobby. Conflict of interest and all.. That said.. good Luck..

ps. Wear Pants

Mostly, on my phone.

When she was studio painting for Privateer Ali McVey was definitely doing commissions as she did a mate's Khador starter. All the best mate!

One week till pantsless interview! (Oh, the miracles of technology!!!)

Guys- make no mistake, I plan to be around dakkadakka even if I get the job. I may not be able to share everything, but Ill share what I can!
And FGMike- Im ALWAYS willing to talk shop!

@SL: Its certainly something Im aware of. Im going to ask, and if they say no, well, looks like Ill just do "personal projects"
Dont see it being to big an issue, though.

========================

Quick update before work (a peculiar mid-morning shift, 10-7... weird, and it kinda kills the whole day )

Got the bone down on the piggies. Also got the metal work done.
At this stage, its the base, the leather strapping, and the tank fillings to go- Hopefully I can get a modest way through them tonight after work!

Does being a 'studio painter' for a major game manufacturer actually pay well enough to be a 'full time job'?

I imagine it might, but I'm not sure.

I think even Angel Giraldez still does commission work outside of CB/Infinity.

The front limb in that second pic looks really sweet! Heads don't seem quite finished yet, but I think that's just the leather missing. Can't wait to see the final version

There will be a slight bit of blue markings on these guys, right? Even just a little bit should help vary them up, since it draws the eye so much

@Alpharius: I sure hope its at least a livable wage- Says its a salaried position in Bellevue, WA, so Im inclined to think that. Suppose thats one of the many things to learn!

Also, I have a huge crush on Angel's painting... Guy's a mutant, he paints so well!!

@Tides: Yeah, definitely missing the leather! Im using a very orangish red for the leather, so it should really pop against the other details, ESPECIALLY the blue bits! Those are definitely coming

Looking amazing as always. Do these guys have riders? Sorry to ask the obvious. It would only be a touch of colour on these and Mr.Rider crazy bright, for me.

Don't know why I am trying to sculpt pigs when there are sculpts like these out there. Doh!

Piggies are looking tasty. And fierce, and slightly terrifying.

I think I'll stick to getting my bacon from the shop...

Camkierhi - These boars are actually a combination of Titan Forge Direwulfs, and bits from Mierce Miniatures Chaagmuth (which they sell in pieces) - namely the jaw and two limbs, which replaced the head and back legs of the Direwulfs.

Wehrkind did that conversion, and Ramos added the tanks and cables, to make them a bit more augmented looking. I think they did a splendid job . Need more awesome boar sculpts on the market!

@Cam- Duuuude, totally sculpt some pigs- Exciting to see what you come up with

No riders on these guys- theyre just really angry pigs. Hopefully the addition of some color to the tanks is bringing them more into line with what you're thinking. We ended up scratching the blue warpaint as no matter how much we thought on it, we just couldnt get it to work quite like how we wanted. So we just went with copious amounts of RUST!

@EDC: Yeah, there are easier ways to get bacon.... but I dunno- Having to fight it first makes it taste better!*

Surprisingly simple!

Based with AP Gun Metal, then washed SWM Armor Wash. Edge highlight and scratches with AP Shining Silver.
Then I took my rust powders and went to town on them!

(And I know, WM xD really sorry its all taking so long to get back to the big guy!!!)
